What's with you people today? First hammie is after me, saying i vandelized the ref desk, now you are saying i'm using "unrelated" material in the ref desk. Pay attentio to what i put, and stop directing me to policies. I already read them. I'm undoing the edit, and unless you are an expert on bees, please do not undo it. My friend's word is a reliable source as she is best friends with a bee expert. I have swalloed a spider and threw up. -- Nissae Isen's Man ] (]) 14:33, 11 November 2010 (UTC) |

Cleaning up the page again, everything is in the history. Ian.thomson (talk) 21:55, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
New stuff goes at the bottom, people. Also, please sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~).

Thanks. ]. Dougweller (talk) 18:32, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
- No worries. Hm. That's interesting, I'm going to go from "keeping an eye on Narwhal2" to "keeping a scope on Narwhal2." Ian.thomson (talk) 18:45, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Edit by Ahastedt12 on Bradford
User Ahastedt12 made an interesting edit to William Bradford (Plymouth governor) that I feel has some merit. He is correct in that Bradford wrote as was common in his time... with a point of view not found in most novels, autobiographies, etc. How to describe it briefly, in a WP article, I don't know, but I think the edit was in good faith and you need not act so bossy.
Let's focus on the edit and its purpose... this one by Ahastedt12 with a diff to your clobber. No harm mentioning this, is there? Not really. Bradford wasn't putting himself in the action, talking about his wife or his household, gossiping and blathering about the neighbors, nor engaging the reader in a vivid portrayal of the daily mundane. I would say he was objective. Whether the edit has merit or not in its specific form, I would delay judgment until perhaps it is elaborated upon or improved upon. In the meantime, it would be interesting to leave it and see how it develops. I like to saw logs! (talk) 04:19, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Bradford had the New Canaan colony destroyed, claiming in his work that it was defending Christianity, while the journal of the New Canaan colony's founder relate that it was just a simple party. Also, up to that point, Bradford was complaining about a lack of beer, and about how much beer New Canaan had, but quit complaining about the lack of beer after ransacking New Canaan. A standard revert and a standard NPOV template warning for calling his work objective was not clobbering, it's standard. Ian.thomson (talk) 12:45, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Activity on my talk page
Ian.thomson, do you know what is going on on my talk page? I am not sure I understand the context.
--Mortense (talk) 00:00, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Ekael777 is a new user that was spamming his book over at the Azrael article. After having his edit reverted six times, he finally claimed he didn't get any of the warnings sent to him because he did not know he had to scroll down to read them... and couldn't find the scroll bar anyway... despite maintaining a website... (these warnings have since been removed, because others are a little more willing to WP:AGF more than me). I have no idea how he found your talk page (seeing as he claims he couldn't find his messages... or his scroll bar...), but he seemed to believe that you were online and an administrator. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:23, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for the explanation. I rearranged that conversion (collected into one section). --Mortense (talk) 17:15, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Account Suspension
Sorry, I don't know how to start a new topic on this page. I've been feeling guilty for behaving in an inappropriate manner so I want my account deactivated until I can think through properly but since I'm brand new, I still don't understand the Community Guidelines well so I've kind of misled myself so I'm sorry for any disruptions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sweep12 (talk • contribs) 22:12, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- I've gone and turned it into a new topic (for future reference, just put two equals signs on either side of the section title, == Like this ==). Everyone makes mistakes at first (... and keep on making them after years of editing). You did not do anything block-worthy. I've summed up some of the main guidelines you've had trouble with on your page, and am working on a slightly more comprehensive list. Regarding "deactivating" your account, it's not in my power to block people, and even if it was, you haven't done anything block-worthy. Ian.thomson (talk) 22:19, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I'd like to change my account settingslike my username and such but I cannot get access as the page won't display? User talk: Sweep12
- Your username isn't changed in the settings, it's changed at Misplaced Pages:Changing_username. Other things may be changed by clicking "My preferences" at the top right hand corner of the page, inbetween "my talk" and "my watchlist." Ian.thomson (talk) 22:31, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Scythians
I don't know what the dispute is here between generally good editors, but I suggest you sort it out on the talk page (I try my best never to go over 2 reverts myself). Dougweller (talk) 15:23, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
Hey
Hxseek is being very disrespectful and making disruptive accusations without providing any evidence and has reverted the page 6 times from his/hers Username and IP's in 24 hours. User does not want cooperate with others and refuses providing any sources for anything...Thank You for your time!! HonestopL04:20, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
I edited the paganism section due to the fact it was invalid.. if u have problem with it look it up urself from a source other than this place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.131.74.44 (talk) 23:18, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- No, you just deleted two outside sources that demonstrate that the word "paganism" is sometimes used to refer to non-Abrahamic religions. Those sources meet our reliable sourcing guidelines. Ian.thomson (talk) 23:22, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
sorry nobody took notice of your biased, unfounded claims :( Hxseek (talk) 08:30, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
- See WP:DICK. Misplaced Pages is not a battlefield, and if you want a battlefield, you should go to a different site. Also, those weren't my claims, the stuff I reinserted was the only sourced information at the time, you were making unfounded claims by not including sources originally, and you didn't include sources until I kept asking you for them and pointed out WP:CITE repeatedly. You're welcome, you ingrate. Ian.thomson (talk) 13:21, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Hey Ian! Its seems these 2 editors with Hxseek roam together according to other talk page article. Big conflict of interested and are using heavy handed techniques to push POV. Seems like they do this a lot. Trolling! Any suggestions? I mean they are just ignoring whatever you or anyone else says, frustrating. HonestopL 13:21, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
- My main concern was/is that Hxseek was not citing any sources (current version is now "some say this, others this,") and has not relented in uncivil behavior. MarmadukePercy's comments in Talk:Scythians#Hold_it.2C_fellas indicate that he believes Hxseek's behavior is unjustified, and Genie's do not show any approval of his behavior. I believe it is more likely that Genie and MarmadukePercy have some of the same pages on their watchlists as Hxseek, but otherwise aren't affiliated (this is not unusual, I run into a lot of the same people across the different articles I watch). Ian.thomson (talk) 18:06, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Please do not write on my page. I do not really feel obliged to listen to your comments Hxseek (talk) 23:50, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Can you weigh in on WP:RS at Archaeology and the Book of Mormon?
We could use some cool heads at Archaeology and the Book of Mormon. I am trying to overhaul the article, (maybe a bit too much for comfort of other editors - and I admit I have my biases - but I am trying to get the article to adhere to WP policy, particularly WP:RS), and I sense an edit war brewing. --Descartes1979 (talk) 02:45, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Junk code
I don't notice an edit link for the top section of the article, do most articles not have edit available for the leading sections? I used to whole page edit to correct the Hebrew definition. It's not exactly vandalism, but I should have proofed the whole article not just the leading paragraph. Now I realize floater code might show up if editing an article in total outside of the sections. There is some more cleanup of dead links so I will see if any mysterious junk text crops up. Thank you
Hi there Mate, can I just say thank you for this, I was just on my way to give him/her a bollocking (pardon the French), but you've saved me the hassle so thank you Regards –TheBubler2010 (talk) 19:05, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Ian I'm glad you wanna play tag with me
I'd love to send you an email Ian but I am so ignorant of how this all works, I can't figure out how to do that. So I'm glad that you wanna play hide n seek with me. Tag? Hide n seek? whatever - they are both fun. So, I'll throw in some personal theories and opinions onto various pages, and then you find them and you delete them and then you email me to tell me that this not allowed. OMG! Fun! But oh oh, can you block my IP address completely from doing any Wikiboogie at all? I guess I'll be finding out soon. If you do block me then I'll just hafta find another venue. But I like this one - instant results are very gratifying to the wayward soul, wouldn't you say? Do you want to chat with me Ian? My google email is lawyergirl.chella@gmail.com, and I have Scottish in my background too - that's the cheap side of my family. So we have a lot in common, dude.
Chella
P.S. I bet you don't block me cause you want to keep reading what I have to say, before deleting it. It's so interesting, huh. Hey, this is not an "unsigned comment", I signed it Chella, what more do you want? My middle name is Ann. There, happy? I like Star Trek too.
P.P.S. I just put up some more stuff on the cannibalism page. Is that page a favorite of yours, is that why you caught me out so quickly the first time? Hobby of yours or something? (oh SNAP you already took it down! :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Therealchella (talk • contribs) 18:57, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure what your history is with this user, but she's indefinitely blocked for vandalism. —C.Fred (talk) 19:10, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm guessing I templated her for inserting personal opinion into the cannibalism article. May wanna go on and block this one as well (compare this with this, and this with this). I take one day off to work on a paper, and this happens... I'm not even important, what the hell. Ian.thomson (talk) 23:37, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
