"By deleting BJAODN, you robbed a teenage girl of something that made her life meaningful."

I don't feel like having a user page, so quit bugging me about it. Also, contrary to popular belief, I do not exist (and neither do you). I'm not quite as active as I used to be, but still occasionally edit and weild my administrative cudgel. Feel free to leave me a message (be aware that I quickly archive items nowadays, and reserve the right to revert and refactor at will). Talk Archives ~ Contributions ~ Admin Logs --Jeff

Oh, for fucks sake...

It took me three years to figure out this is a picture of a book.

Christ.

Damn, so it is. Deiz talk 17:57, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Indeed! Good point/sleuthing. Never even occurred to me at all. Thought it was simply rays of light or something. — SMcCandlish06:54, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Wow, it is a book. Don't beat yourself up over it, normally you can't see it since it's behind the rest of the interface. From the few milliseconds I've seen it during page loads, I'd always figured it was an architectural detail, like an arched ceiling in a colonnade or something. Though at one point I remember I thought it looked like an angel's wings. --tjstrf talk 10:32, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
LOL, I thought it was a banana or some kind of exotic fruit! — superbfc 18:49, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
I really thought it was a bivalve of some sort. +mwtoews 01:05, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
I thought something along those lines, too. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 01:06, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
You guys are all very smart. I just thought the monitor was broken. Greswik 18:46, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
wow, i just randomly came to your talk page (actually, I went from the Fulton Road Bridge page, to EurekaLott's talk page, to here) and just realized this too...i always thought it was some abstract light ray thing. guess is where the "book" in "monobook" comes from - Minkus 03:58, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Amazing, I thought it was just random shading and gradients and crap -- Phoeba Wright 09:15, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

So it's not an Indian headdress then??!!--Alf 00:39, 21 May 2007 (UTC) Alf looks shocked and somewhat dismayed
I'm with Alf on this. GASP! G1ggy! 02:28, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh Lord. I thought it was some sort of sunshine shining rays of knowledge all over the world. You just blew my mind. the_undertow 23:51, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Holy crap, I stumbled on here from the AN thread about BJAODN and, wow, this was news to me. I thought it was just pretty shaded lines. -M 03:07, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Ditto, AKMask. 'Course, I never looked at it outside of the header before. I mean, who thinks to do that? --InkSplotch 03:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

BJAODN

Was there a discussion which supported your arbitrary deletion of all of the BJAODN pages? Corvus cornix 02:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Not arbitrary. Supported by policy. Going to AN, Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard#BJAODN_Deleted. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 02:43, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Dear Sir, You see, there are very few things that make me happy, not to mention hold my attention for more than a few minutes. In fact, there are only three things that do this. BJAODN was one of these things. By deleting BJAODN, you robbed a teenage girl of something that made her life meaningful. How would you feel if someone took away something that meant a whole lot to you? Your house, your job, a funny page on Misplaced Pages you stumbled upong by googling something random that makes your day... So, what you did today made me sad. Very. Sad. I hope you're happy. Now, I am depressed. =( Sincerely, 209.247.22.46 01:34, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Whether it was copied and pasted or not is beside the point. It was funny. We want it back. - Bagel7 what ya say, what??? 02:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Supported by policy or not, HUNDREDS of wikipedians have worked on the project, it's one of the oldest pages on Misplaced Pages, and an important part of wikipedia culture, and a good place for users to unwind and relax after editing. The least you could have done was start a discussion. --IvanKnight69 15:51, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Re: I take my job here seriously

I don't take my job here that seriously. If I did, I suspect my life would be far more stressful. Still, I did not mean to offend you and I am sorry that you took that comment as any sort of personal attack. I don't entirely agree with your reasoning, but your actions were well within the realm of any administrator's discretion. ˉˉ╦╩ 07:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

paraphernalia deletion

paraphernalia is not just a term -

According to the webster it sites paraphernalia as: Etymology: Medieval Latin, ultimately from Greek parapherna bride's property 1 : the separate real or personal property of a married woman that she can dispose of by will and sometimes according to common law during her life 2 : personal belongings 3 : articles of equipment

could you re-instate the page and detail the reasons for your deletion?

Melodramatic (website)

Hello Jefferey,

I am inquiring about the deletion of the entry "melodramatic (website)"

I was wondering firstly, why it was deleted. And secondly, if it can be reposted.

You can reach me at jordanof83@gmail.com

Thank you.

Sincerely, Jordan Wright

Hey there, I'm the original author of this page and the AfD occurred during a period of personal inactivity. What were the guidelines for deletion? Ultimately I would like to restore the content, but I can't seem to find the archive. --NeoVampTrunks 21:59, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

BJAODN Deletion

Way to go! I wanted to nuke it all ages ago, but I was afraid it'd be seen as a rogue action, rather than the GFDL violation, BLP issue and unfunny cesspool it was. ^demon 03:38, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of BJAODN

Not funny. I have taken it to WP:Deletion review, GDFL or no GDFL, attribution or no attribution. — Rickyrab | Talk 22:22, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Request for BJAODN subpages and their edit histories

May I have the BJAODN subpages and their edit histories, please? And would you mind sending those to others who request those subpages and edit histories as well? — Rickyrab | Talk 23:57, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

As you have exhibited a shocking lack of basic understanding of copyright and the GFDL license, to do so would be a gross violation of what it means to be an admin. Stop trolling and edit the encyclopedia for once. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 00:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Re: DRV closure

No worries. I was just estimating, but I didn't know the exact figure. Thanks for fixing it for me. ^demon 00:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey

Not to sound rude here but... No offense, but some of your comments (like the one about bringing back the BJAODN pages above this message or the BJAODN MfC) are well, lacking in civility. Just an observation. Whsitchy 16:15, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

An incorrect observation at that. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 17:04, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
