User:Endroit/Chinese_Romanization

Hello. Please check out User:Endroit/Chinese_Romanization, and make additions/corrections where necessary. I am asking Yuje, Ran, Visviva, Nanshu, Babelfisch, Kusunose, and Saintjust to check and modify this Chinese Romanization proposal within the next 5 days.
After that we should move this Chinese Romanization page to a Project Page, and then request formal Mediation/Arbitration. I would like to nominate Yuje or Ran to be the leader for this project. Or I can be leader also. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.--Endroit 09:41, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Samurang

Per the recent debate on this article at WP:DRV, I have undeleted it and created a new AfD at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Samurang (2nd nomination). -Splash 00:27, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Hi Nanshu - I have tried to do a bit of a clean-up job on the revised article to improve the English. I have also deleted the second paragraph as there didn't seem to be any information there that wasn't in the first and third paragraphs. Do please check that I haven't deleted anything significant or changed the meaning. Vizjim 16:38, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Central Asia

Hi, I'm trying to start some sort of working group to improve the coverage of Central Asia and related topics in Misplaced Pages. Leave a message on my userpage if you're interested. Aelfthrytha 03:09, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Baoshan1937-Asahi-01.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Baoshan1937-Asahi-01.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. John Smith's 18:48, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi there. I forgot to mention why I was unhappy with the status, so I'll tell you now. First of all, you haven't made reference to what the Japanese law was before 1971 - without specific information we'd just be taking your word for it (no offence). But more importantly, to be safe we have to know that it has expired under the current law, because it is possible for people to regain a copyright because new laws superceed past ones.
Also the Republic of China laws are problematic, because of course it's no longer a recognised international government. So its copyright law might not be valid in the general international community (I'm not sure on that).
Also there's the simple issue that the picture isn't in use at the moment. As far as I can remember, pictures not in use can be deleted anyway. John Smith's 14:28, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for your information. I have modified the image tag under the copyright section. However can you please supply a translation for "写真著作権ハ十年間継続ス", just so that whoever reads it can see how it says the image is in the public domain? Cheers, John Smith's 16:37, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

translation Image:National history-dongyi.jpg?

Hello Nanshu! On this picture there is a grey area and a grey spickled area on it, but the meaning of these grey areas in the upper corner left is in Japanese. Please could you translate those meanings in English? Thanks in advance! Guss2 23:10, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for answering. You are right I could have guessed it, but now I am sure (which always is better!) Guss2 09:13, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Leagues of Inner Mongolia

Hi! I've read your discussion on the Leagues of Inner Mongolia page and I'm still a bit puzzled about what the real (i.e. contemporary) mongolian designation for the 'big' autonomous subdivisions in the Inner Mongolian AR is. The article still says chuulga, but according to what you wrote in the discussion aimag would be more correct (esp. when present tense is used in the introduction sentence). Is that so? Thanks in advance! Yaan 14:53, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Dear Nanshu, i'm planning to create a Manchu Misplaced Pages, and i would like to know if you are interested in working on that project because like you i'm also interested in East Asian History, languages and scripts.Regards Whlee 12:25, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Article about Kurów on Manchu language

Could you please write a stub about Kurów here - just a few sentences based on http://zh.wikipedia.org/%E5%BA%93%E9%B2%81%E5%A4%AB%E5%B8%82 or EN wiki? Only 3-5 sentences enough. Please. Pietras1988 18:46, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Why do you want an article of Kurow on all Wikipedias??? I really want to know that. SPQRobin 23:46, 9 April 2007 (CEST)
Yes... give us a good reason?!!? Do widzenia ! Whlee 11:57, 10 April 2007 (CEST)

Mongol Khans

I never realized there was a consensus to the contrary, and I was only doing that to bring some uniformity to the naming standards. I am sorry if I caused disruption. Arbiteroftruth 00:35, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Sure! Let's make a decision on this once and for all! Arbiteroftruth 03:59, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:National history-dongyi.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:National history-dongyi.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
