"A Little Bit"
Song

"A Little Bit" is a song by Jessica Simpson, and was the second single from her second album, Irresistible (2001). It was written by Kara DioGuardi, Steve Morales and D. Siegelk. Released in 2001, the single reached her first top 10 in Mexico on the Top 100 Singles and also reached #19 in Portugal.

Commercial Released

After the success of the album's first single, "Irresistible", preparations were made to release the follow-up single, "A Little Bit", in late summer 2001. However, several days after the music video was premiered on MTV's Total Request Live in the U.S., the World Trade Center in New York City was struck by terrorists (see September 11, 2001 attacks). Because of the attacks, Columbia Records pulled promotion for the single, a decision with which Simpson agreed. Consequently, it was Simpson's first single not to chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. A commercial single was set for release in late September/early October, but it was cancelled. "A Little Bit" was later released as a single in winter 2001 throughout Europe and Australia.

Music video

The music video for the single consolidates the sexy image in which Simpson had been presented in the video for her previous single, "Irresistible". In the "A Little Bit" video Simpson can be seen dancing on a futuristic dance floor. The video features dancing from Ashlee Simpson, Jessica's sister. It was directed by Hype Williams.

Trivia

"A Little Bit" was the theme song for a 2001 Bally Total Fitness commercial. UK-based singer Rosie Ribbons covered the song in 2002.
