December 2008
Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Ayn Rand, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. -- IRP ☎ 02:23, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Ayn Rand Edits
I understand that you are new to Misplaced Pages, so I would like to explain why I reverted your recent edits to the Ayn Rand article. Misplaced Pages has a number of policies, a major one being WP:NPOV. This policy requires that articles be written from a neutral point of view. This means that you should not use weasel words that convey certain connotations. For example, instead of stating "Rand's skepticism regarding Branden's character had been growing for some months", you could have stated "for some months Rand suspected Branden of having another affair." In addition, there is a policy called WP:Undue Weight, which your edit about the New York Times' praise of Rand's books violated. While there were a few sources that praised Rand's work, those sources were in a very small minority and so we cannot devote big chunks of the article to the minority view (at least not without devoting even bigger chunks to the majority view).
Finally, there is an editing policy that I would like to point your attention to. It is WP:3RR. This policy essentially means that when you and another editor have disagreements about certain edits, you should discuss those edits on the talk page instead of repeatedly editing the article. I hope that I have explained my reasons for removing your edits, but if you are still unsatisfied, we can discuss them on the talk page of the Ayn Rand article. In addition, when you are editing a controversial article like Ayn Rand, please do not make so many edits at once because an editor who disagrees with some of your edits is forced to remove all of them. In fact you may want to start out editing less controversial articles to better get the hang of things. I hope this helps and may your Misplaced Pages experience be enjoyable!

3RR Warning
This is a warning, please stop edit-warring on the Ayn Rand article. If you believe that the article is erroneous, discuss your proposed edits on the Talk page instead of making changes to the article itself. If you keep edit-warring on this article, you will be blocked from editing. Idag (talk) 02:44, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Edits - Second Explanation
Maybe my first explanation was a bit unclear. The reason I reverted my edits was not that you were factually wrong, but because you used non-neutral language. Again, please discuss your edits on the talk page, writing in all caps in the edit summary does not remove this requirement. Idag (talk) 02:57, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Warning
Please see the talk page of the AR article, and participate there. K's advice is good. If you fail to take it, you will be blocked William M. Connolley (talk) 08:31, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Last Warning
This is your last warning. STOP EDITING THE ARTICLE AND DISCUSS YOUR PROPOSED EDITS ON THE TALK PAGE! Your edits are NOT neutral, but are glorifying Rand. A number of your edits do not cite any secondary sources for your assertions, and the ones that you do have are phrased in a way that is most beneficial to Rand. You have also removed notable sourced criticism of Rand. I will ask you one last time, stop changing giant chunks of the article and discuss your edits on the talk page BEFORE you make them. What you are doing (making lots of edits without any discussion) is UNACCEPTABLE and will get you BLOCKED!!! Idag (talk) 01:24, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Misplaced Pages, you will be blocked from editing. I have to support Idag here, you are making changes without discussion. --Snowded TALK 19:08, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Articles for creation
Your nomination at Articles for Creation was a success, and Martin Anderson (economist) was created. Please continue making quality contributions to Misplaced Pages, and please consider registering an account so you can create articles yourself. Thank you for helping Misplaced Pages! The Ayn Rand article and semi-protection
Greetings, and thanks for your recent edit to the Rand article. The article ha had a lot of vandalism and disruption from unregistered editors in the past, and we are discussing on the talkpage the possibility of semi-protecting it, which would prevent new and unregistered editors from editing. Have you considered registering an account? It's free, protects your privacy (by concealing your IP address) and would let you edit semi-protected pages. Regards, Skomorokh 19:43, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Your submission has been reviewed and has been put on hold pending clarification or improvements from you or other editors. Please take a look and respond if possible. You can find it at Misplaced Pages talk:Articles for creation/Anne Wortham. If there is no response within twenty-four hours the request may be declined; if this happens feel free to continue to work on the article and resubmit when you believe the concerns have been addressed.
