Re: Question

It is unsourced, so I would do a Google search and see if you could find a confirming search. If not and the station's website wasn't showing any schedule changes, I would then revert. - NeutralHomerTalk • February 20, 2009 @ 05:56

Re:DownloadBot (talk · contribs)

Hello, Dylan620. You have new messages at Download's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Some more help, please?

{{help}} I'm trying to code User:Dylan620 Bot/Message to link to the "delete" button, but Special:Delete doesn't exist. Then I found out that in order to delete my userpage, the URL would be http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=User:Dylan620&action=delete. How could I code the message template (i.e. {{{1}}}) to be able to cooperate with this type of URL? --Dylan620 Efforts · Toolbox 18:26, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

try http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title={{{1}}}&action=delete J.delanoyadds 18:34, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Got it, underscores were needed. --Dylan620 Efforts · Toolbox 19:00, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
FWIW, you should use {{fullurl:{{{1}}}|action=delete}}, since that will automatically encode the article title correctly, and point to the correct server (https/http). Cheers, Amalthea 16:24, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

ACC

{{help}} My account is presently suspended from it; could someone with access to ACC please tell me what happened? Whatever mistake I made, I promise not to repeat it. --Dylan620 Wishes you a Happy Easter! 19:37, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

The suspend message said wait for me to contact you :P . See below. Stwalkerster 19:42, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Account Creation Interface

Hi!

I've just noticed a request that's come in for User:Dxb543 from 86.96.226.88, which you dropped, and I'd like to know the reason behind this, especially as several other people can find nothing that would prevent account creation for that request. I also noticed that you have been dealing with requests extremely quickly, and am growing very concerned that you might be racing to complete requests, and not checking requests properly, or jumping to conclusions. Please can you reassure me that this is not the case, and give reasoning behind this drop.

I've suspended your access to the interface so we can address these issues before continuing.

Regards,

Stwalkerster 19:40, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

I will gladly explain my actions on ACC. I dropped that IP's request because I saw vandalism/unconstructive editing from that IP mere minutes before the request was made. (Or at least I thought that edit was vandalism.) At the time (the IP is public), I thought that public IP's meant trouble; they do mostly vandalize, and it is said on the header, "expect vandal requests, and drop them when you see them." As such, I dropped the request. But now I realize that this is invalidated if the IP is public; any person from that IP could be requesting an account. It seems that I have a habit of reviewing accounts quickly – I always thought that this speed was OK (although, I assure you that I was reviewing every option for review for every account that I reviewed). In the future, I will assess requests at ACC slower and more carefully. Although, I would prefer that my suspension stand until tomorrow, as I feel like I could use a refreshing break from ACC.
On an unrelated side note; Happy Easter, Stwalkerster. :)
Dylan620 Wishes you a Happy Easter! 21:43, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, you have to remember that IP addresses are likely to be shared. The "vandal requests" notice was mainly referring to stuff which is actually covered by upolicy as well, and also known sock-puppeteers, so it does help to have a working knowledge of that too. (Grawp is mainly caught automatically now, but you still get ones like Hamish Ross, and others that still hang around). As long as you slow down, that's fine. I'll unsuspend you, but you don't have to come back until tomorrow if you don't want to (I'm about to run a software upgrade anyway). Oh, and Happy Easter to you too :) Stwalkerster 21:57, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

ACC help requested

{{helpme}} I'm currently dealing with a request that has the word "Wiki" in its name, see . Is this against policy? --Dylan620 Efforts · Toolbox 00:37, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

I think it is, but I am not sure. I am going to leave this open in case I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that it is against policy....but please don't quote me. - NeutralHomerTalk • April 16, 2009 @ 00:41
I wouldn't have created it myself, but someone else already has. I don't think it's strictly against policy, but is something to be avoided if it can be helped. Now that the account exists, though, it's probably not worth worrying about. Hersfold 01:59, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Many users have Wiki in their names. It's only against policy if it insinuates any sort of authority. ∗ \ / () 10:19, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

{{help}} Should I approve a request at ACC if the IP is rangeblocked for a year? --Dylan620 Efforts · Toolbox 00:06, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

There isn't really a simple answer to this question. Most of the time it is "no", but if you are unsure you should ask someone else for help. There isn't a deadline for handling the requests; if someone has to wait a bit longer for their account it is not the end of the world. — Jake Wartenberg 00:20, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Apology for an oversight

I created an account on ACC which I did not know you were handling. I went ahead and marked the request "Done." I apologize for any inconvenience. Willking1979 (talk) 00:24, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Your request for bot approval

Hi, your request for approval for Dylan620 Bot is still open. If you are still working on it, can you post a note indicating your current status? Otherwise, do you mind if the request is closed? Thanks. Wronkiew (talk) 05:27, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
