:"Sexting" is also a form of abuse, but just because there are worse forms of abuse doesn't give someone the right to break lower priority rules. Sharing plans to bomb the Whitehouse in ]'s name on Misplaced Pages articles is an even worse infraction than sexting, but that doesn't mean that we should ignore sexting. Furthermore, the URL you provided only leads to the Newspaper's home page, and I haven't heard anything about this, so I'm thinking you don't know what you're talking about. ] ] 20:28, 3 November 2009 (UTC) :"Sexting" is also a form of abuse, but just because there are worse forms of abuse doesn't give someone the right to break lower priority rules. My error

My sincere apologies for the problem caused by my use of WikiCleaner. I was using it to pinpoint pages in need of corrective action and was indeed viewing and fixing each individually. I wasnt aware of glitches or problems with the 'tool' and had no idea that it was automatically making so many inaccurate changes, entirely independent of myself. The realization of this dilemma is frustrating because I honestly contributed a significant number of accurate, productive edits. Thanks--1oddbins1 (talk) 22:16, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello! I just wanted to pass along my thanks for your support in my RfA from earlier this week. I hope I did not disappoint you. Grawp

OK, so I've read that you, like the most of us here, have a deep vendetta against Grawp. I see that you posted about the possibility of a crackdown on the vandal mob, ala Operation Buccaneer, and that some people disagree somewhat to what you said about the botnet. I dunno, but since the contribution log and the LTA page are clear evidences against the mob's inappropriate and malicious humor, maybe a court case is possible, although I'm not sure about the exact violation the group will face (either harassment, malicious mischief, or a violation of the Communications Decency Act, judging from the pornographic/sexually expicit images in the Encyclopedia Dramatica page used to coordinate Grawp vandalism). If so (since it is now known that a group in ED is responsible), then Dramatica might be at risk of being taken down by the feds for malware and other malicious activities. I think WP has the right to sue anyone who's doing malicious things here in the site. I visit ED, and I laugh at some of their jokes, but some of their users have been inclining on disrupting others for no reason, or as they say, "for the lulz". I also do comedy stuff for the lulz, but not vandalizing Misplaced Pages or any other wiki that the mob is targeting. Blake Gripling (talk) 13:15, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

IP address 76.7.95.112 - misleading information

This IP address is NOT, I repeat NOT, limited to the library to which you singularly designate. It is a registerd IP address of Charlotte County government for various county institutions. Why don't you do research before you defend misleading information, of which you are the source. Women are less likely to contact rape and domestic violence centers in the county if a stalker or ex husband or boyfriend can locate their place of emailing via Misplaced Pages, thanks to you. IP addresses appear in email header information in case you were unaware, even ones sent via website email forms. 76.7.95.112 (talk) 15:24, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

If it's such a pressing issue, then you should have politely asked the information to be oversighted, explaining the reason why the information must be removed, rather than removing the information using the "edit this page" button, which still leaves the information in history, leaving a vague edit description, and then leaving such a nasty note when the information is removed by a regular editor who thinks he is dealing with a newbie who doesn't know our policy. Furthermore, I think that such victums should consider creating an account anyway since it takes about one whole minute, requires very little personal info to be revealed, and completely hides the IP address from anyone who isn't a checkuser, and there's about ten checkusers on this site worldwide, making the chances that one of these big bad dirtbags having such an account much lower than that of such a nutcase knowing who the IP belongs to without even needing the template. Also, if the cops needed to trace the IP, they could request that a checkuser give them the IP address unlike the dirtbag ex whatevers (and we're quite careful with who we reveal checkuser results to). Also, if that's not just for that library, wouldn't sending a psyco on a wild goose chase to the wrong place be a good thing? GO-PCHS-NJROTC 00:44, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
If they use Gmail, then the IP will NOT appear in the full headers. Also, I must say that if I was in such a situation, I'd be using a freaking open proxy such as Ninja Proxy. As far as victums being less likely to contact rape centers over all of this, I'd think they'd know to use a proxy too if they knew all about full headers and crap. That's mostly spam fighters that know about full headers, and they usually know that spammers have a bad habit of abusing such proxies. If the library blocks the proxies, then they should ask to bypass the filter (and I know it is possible to bypass it).

GO-PCHS-NJROTC 01:34, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for correcting the imprecise information in the notice at the top of the shared-IP user talk page. I am right now using a computer with the indicated IP address and it is not at the physical location you originally designated. I have not made any vandal edits that may be indicated on that page and such is the problem with shared IPs; not everyone is guilty. 76.7.95.112 (talk) 15:29, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Would you be content to live in a police state where freedom of expression is completely restricted?

Because going on the information on your userpage and your contributions, you seem to want to make this place a bit like North Korea.--ArticleDiscussion (talk) 09:31, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Red envelope

All I edited was someone's jibberish typing ("CChinskndksndknsdl..."). The page has received a lot of vandalism; you may have mistaken my edit for vandalism. PCHS GA review update

Hi -- sorry I've been a bit slow about updating the review. It's now quite close. There are three remaining things to do to pass GA. See the review for a little more info, but basically they are:

  • The lead has a reference to a recent teacher firing that is not mentioned in the body; either delete it from the lead or mention it in the body with a cite.
  • There is one {{citation needed}} tag to clean up.
  • Footnote six links to Misplaced Pages, which is not a reliable source.
  • Please change the caption from "Yes, I am a Pirate!" to something like "Main entrance" or "Port Charlotte High School".

Let me know if you have any questions. I am away from home this weekend and may not have net access so it might be early next week by the time I reply to anything you post. -- Mike Christie (talk) 03:56, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Personal attacks

Hi there! I wanted to leave a note regarding this edit: "do you have mental illness or something?" is always a personal attack, regardless of the circumstances and regardless of whether you put a disclaimer in front of it. There's no possible situation I can think of in which that's a constructive thing to say. As a rule of thumb, I find that if you write a sentence which needs a disclaimer, you're better off deleting the whole sentence and finding a different way to say what you need to say. Your persistent work reverting vandalism on Misplaced Pages is very much appreciated, though, so keep it up! I'd just recommend that you spend a few months being absolutely obsessive about civility, so that it becomes second nature. --Fullobeans (talk) 01:24, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

dude. you didn't have to mouth off to me like okay. I'm not a freeking animal. And btw, I dont have a mental illness okay I have Advanced Placement classes so don't come to my user talk page make a personal insult to me. Also furthermore back in early 2008 and the whole bs with ""Mmbabies" why I was acting all spasic trying to get that "person" was I wanted to help out on this site, and atleast make us known that we did something positive. However , other people branded us as "Teenage crime force" , and didnt give us recongnition we should have earned. I should have not been so spasitic on the issue that much. If you have a issue you can just in a calm manner. And the issue on the Wp:ani two weeks about the "Obama threat" , I just said for them to contact the FBI only it met a cause if the threat was likely. Rio de oro (talk) 20:34, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
My warning had nothing to do with the Mmbabies case; it had to do with your constant incivil responses to other people's comments, immature name calling, over reaction to simple vandalism (although threats should always be taken seriously, the Obama deal didn't appear to be a threat), and going crazy with these vandal cases. I agree that child porn, threats, fraud, and other IC shouldn't be taken lightly, but you have a track record of going over board, calling other Wikipedians names, fighting fellow vandal fighters and editors, disobeying consensus, and unfortunately tarnishing other users names in the process. See, this gets personal with me; I should officially be considered qualified to say that over reaction, impatience, and refusal to follow consensus in these kind of cases makes matters worse and often results in improper resolution; I was a victum of somebody's wild accusations, assumptions, and rage. I asked if you were mentally impaired due to a genuine fear that you may have some kind of disorder that would impair your ability to handle these kind of cases, not as a personal attack, and having such an illness doesn't make one stupid or even a bad WP editor, it just means someone has a weakness. Probably most people have some kind of mental flaw difference or else we'd all uniform. As a matter of fact, many of the most famous people in history and society are suspected to have had disorders; I just wanted to document it if you had something that would cause you to often get obsessive, emotional, or agressive in these kind of cases so that the community would know (and possibly be more tolerant opposed to throwing warnings at you). PCHS-NJROTC 21:32, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at List of cheerleading stunts. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --ITasteLikePaint (talk) 03:01, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

That probably wasn't the best place to put a warning (since that section hasn't been active for quite a while), but okay. What do you mean by "personal attacks?" Anything in particular? Pretty much the only thing I've done there is revert other people's vandalism, so are you talking about edit summaries? PCHS-NJROTC 19:38, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Quick CSD review

Hi G-P-N, First, you might want to remove references to your age from your user page. Similarly, you might want to consider a name change. This name clearly tags you as a minor. Second, I've been reviewing some of your CSD's. You haven't done much, but back in October when you were active you nominated a fictional character for Speedy per A7. A7 specifically excludes fictional characters. In September you tagged an article with a made up DB criteria---eg not one of the standard criteria. There were several where you just created CSD tags. As you indicated CSD was an interest of yours, I would get more experience there... and show competence with CSD before running. You also mentioned AFD being an area of interest, but have made even fewer edits there. Before you run for admin, you need to know who you are and what you want to do. Looking at your edits and your rationale on my talk page, what you've said doesn't jive with your experience. Also, this edit is really going to hurt you if you decide to run. While I am not opposed to High Schoolers being admin, they have to show an exceptional level of maturity---they have to prove that they are the exception to the rule. Also, running shortly after you got here might hurt as well... although it is a positive sign that you've waited 8 months before considering a second run. Generally, early involvement in an RfA looks like somebody who is more interested in the position than in developing the project. The compromised account a few months ago hurts as well. Your article building is limited to a very small silo, this will hurt. A lot of your edits are automated, this prevents us from seeing your policy knowledge/expertise, but in several places you are showing a lack thereof. I couldn't find your coaching page, so I couldn't review that... but I'll be honest with you, I don't see a successful RfA in the near future.---Balloonman 02:54, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Just to interject, the edit that will really kill any RFA chance is this one here. RMHED (talk) 03:18, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Yeah, that one is really going to hurt for a long time. Let me put it into a context. "Queer" is to the homosexual community what "Nigger" is to African Americans. It is highly insulting and extremely inflamatory---unless you are part of the community, in which case the parameters do change a little. So, reread the comment and substitute the word "Nigger" where you have "Queer" and think about how bad that would sound. People are often willing to overlook occasional lapses in judgment, but this one comes accross as something more than a lapse in civility.---Balloonman 03:34, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
      • I agree, the Q word was probably a little over the top. I don't know what I was thinking. As far as the username goes, I was actually thinking about changing it, but I'm known here by my current username, so I don't think that would be reasonable in this case; I'd rather keep my username as it is and be someone familiar to the community than to be an unknown at an RfA. However, someone over at this page challenged the username as promotional because it says "GO PCHS," so I'm thinking it might be wise to drop "GO" from my username. PCHS-NJROTC 03:43, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I would get rid of the whole name, it clearly shows you as a HS student or possibly a faculty member at a HS, but that would be a question people asked. It is also very identifiable. I KNOW a LOT about you... probably more than you would like a complete stranger to know about you because of your editing history! In fact, I might go so far as to say, I know too much about you or I can figure it out. I know what city you live, what HS you go to, what classes you take. It would not surprise me if you posted your name and age someplace. This is way too much information for the public that you don't have any control over. I would suggest changing your name---at a minimum.---Balloonman 16:26, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't even consider posting my name and age somewhere; I actually had to have vandalism oversighted because it included that. But thanks for the tip. I think I might have some of the information oversighted from my User Page. I'm not sure what to do about the username though, one reason being that I don't know of any other username to use. PCHS-NJROTC 16:38, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I've decided to change my username to PCHS-NJROTC because I've reminded myself why I wanted to be an admin in the first place. I don't want to be an admin just to have a few more buttons to fool around with, I don't want to be an admin for any supposed glory or fame, I don't want to be an admin just so I can take show my wrath to the world, I want to be an admin to set the example for other users, including school students. I think it could be possibly be inspiring for some vandal on a school IP to get blocked by someone with "PCHS" in his username. I think it may make them decide to be constructive because they see someone else their around their age being constructive. I want to make improving Misplaced Pages the in thing to do instead of damaging it. I want jealousy and rivialary to become a positive thing when people from the rival schools want to be as cool as the admin that goes to PCHS. When I first came here as an IP, I wasn't even remotely interested in adminship. Now I want to be one so I can set the example by being constructive. If RfA doesn't want to give me the tools, I'll be disappointed, but I'll still be setting the example when I revert vandalism and give warnings from the school computer. Although example setting doesn't require the tools, I think the tools could greatly improve my ability to set the example. Even though adminship doesn't make one better than the other editors, it is an achievement, and declining bad faith unblocks and inserting block templates will be recognized by some as a greater achievement than it is. I've actually had an interest here recently in declining bad faith unblock requests even though I'm not an admin, but I've refrained from it due to fear of disapproval by the community. I could change my name just to pass RfA, but then I wouldn't have a need for the tools, and would likely lose interest in it all together. PCHS-NJROTC 17:15, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

You've uploaded File:Murdock Middle School Logo.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Misplaced Pages's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Misplaced Pages policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Florida Scale

I noticed your question at the Media copyright page and I am just curious about what a scale is used for in a cafeteria. About your licencing question, I'll let an expert answer but Commons:Derivative works may be relevant.--Commander Keane (talk) 04:39, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

The scale is used at the checkout to determine the price of certain items. For instance, salad is sold by the ounce, and if someone takes a plate of salad to the checkout, the cashier places the plate on the scale to determine the price. Under Florida law, the hospital is required to have FDACS's Bureau of Weights and Measures inspect the scale for accuracy so that customers won't get charged more than they should. The HMA article was deleted because of copyvio - not because of a lack of notability. It does not follow that copyvio in the HMA article causes POV in the HMA scandal article. I assume your addition of the POV tag was for a different reason. -- kainaw 03:02, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Cool - I see it now! -- kainaw 03:02, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Wow, you're fast! PCHS-NJROTC 03:03, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I watch that article because people keep creeping in now and then to add a "Bill Clinton is the Devil" spin to it. -- kainaw 03:12, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
That's the wonderful world of political bias; it's just like when people paint "Bush is the Antichrist" and "Obama is a N*****" all over articles. One would think that people would eventually figure out that they're just making themselves look like complete idiots. PCHS-NJROTC 01:30, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Abuse reports/212.219.143.50

Hello, I saw this IP being blocked in recent changes, and I read the IP talk page. It said to update the abuse report (did that) and I thought I should also let you know since you're listed there as investigator. This is what I wrote on the abuse report:

Please note that User:Mufka has blocked this IP address for 1 year, starting at 14:12, 6 May 2009. This is now the tenth block for this IP address.

Thank you. LovesMacs (talk) 14:25, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Certainly worth looking into. I'll email them when I get time. PCHS-NJROTC 01:20, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

User talk:76.7.2.144

Blocked for six months, as vandalism from this address is frequent. Just letting you know as you are the investigator in an abuse report.-gadfium 21:34, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

I'll try calling them this time. I'm thinking the IP is shared or something. PCHS-NJROTC 01:17, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Updated

FYI

Hi there, this revert was a mistake as User:Cephalapod was removing vandalism, not adding it. I think their original edit summary confused you a bit. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

What an epic fail. PCHS-NJROTC 21:17, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Clarify School Assessment

Thanks for tackling some schools assessments. Would you mind clarifying your assessment summary for Lamar High School on Misplaced Pages:WikiProject_Schools/Assessment as it relates to the assessment rubric (as opposed to say the somewhat vague "good"). Thanks. -- ForgottenManC (talk) 03:42, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I just clarified the assessment summary as you requested. I believe the article I promoted could easily pass GA with minor tweaking, and it might not take much to get it to FA. PCHS-NJROTC 06:13, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Abuse Reports, still active?

I've done some cleaning up on Abuse Reports, and have begun processing a lot of requests. However, when I was reviewing the contactor assigned section, I found that there are a lot of cases that have you listed as the contactor, but contact was made over a year ago. I believe it's time to attempt to contact the organizations again, and I plan to do that. If you have any questions about my planned contact, feel free to contact me. Thanks for your time and hope to see you around Abuse Reports! =] Netalarm 08:21, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

It's difficult to keep up with all of them. I usually don't mark them as closed unless I receive a satisfactory response, but I agree that the list was getting way to congested. PCHS-NJROTC 14:45, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm working with JamesR to implement an automated system that will automatically move the reports to the correct location using templates. I'll post more iformation once it's up. It'll work like this: User tags report as Under investigation, and the bot moves it to the proper section. Much easier than manual moving. Netalarm 22:50, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Punta Gorda Middle School: Notable staff

My opinion would be that no, they probably should not be mentioned, as they do not pass WP:BLP. I didn't remove them because they were not mentioned in a negative light as were the individuals I did remove, and you had asked for input on the talk page before action. Student handbook on PCHS article

Sorry about that... completely forgot to add it back in. Although it doesn't necessarily belong in the Academics section, I thought it was the best place for it visually. I changed around the caption a little bit. I wasn't sure that there needed to be a summary in the caption, but I didn't want to change it too much from the original.

Thanks again for the reminder! BahamaLlama8 (talk) 02:11, 12 October 2009 (UTC) (Pirate Alum)

Proposed deletion of PCS Revenue Control Systems

The article PCS Revenue Control Systems has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Although this did not meet speedy deletion criteria A7, the article does not have references to independent reliable sources, and I cannot locate significant coverage in sources to demonstrate notability. I can only find one single Google News hit. See WP:V, WP:ORG.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Chzz  ►  14:17, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

User:69.171.160.58

The IP is part of a block registered to that ISP. My User page has had at least three unwanted additions from at least two IPs in that range over the past couple of days, two of which have been identical additions from two different IPs in the block. My hunch is that it's a single user who gets a dynamic IP at login, although my hunches are occasionally wrong. Alan (talk) 01:47, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Well, at any rate, I must say this person is playing with fire; I've always been known to be abuse report happy. PCHS-NJROTC 02:43, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

  • LOL "terminate my service" ? Abuse desk? lol- Try and ask one of the outsourced sandniggers who man the phones at my ISP to term my service. You won't be able to find someone who speaks english well enough to understand what vandalism is. If you find someone in power @ Cricket who speaks english, let me know and I would be grateful enough to stop "creative editing" at the wikipedia. It's not very likely you can find someone who CAN do so... Dumbarse... I see a Florida ejukashun werked fer yu.

ps: there are worse things I could be doing like "sexting" under age girls like some Port Charlotte ROTC instructors are known to do Charlotte County Pedophile JROTC instructors 69.171.160.104 (talk) 15:00, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

"Sexting" is also a form of abuse, but just because there are worse forms of abuse doesn't give someone the right to break lower priority rules. Sharing plans to bomb the Whitehouse in Osama Bin Laden's name on Misplaced Pages articles is an even worse infraction than sexting, but that doesn't mean that we should ignore sexting. Furthermore, the URL you provided only leads to the Newspaper's home page, and I haven't heard anything about this, so I'm thinking you don't know what you're talking about. PCHS-NJROTC 20:28, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
I reject your faulty premises: (1) Both "sexting" and making threats to the President of the US are both against the law. I haven't broken any law, nor any agreement with my ISP. (2)
