'''Semi-protect'''. The film was just released yesterday and there is a post-credit scene (like 30 seconds after the credits roll) showing a character from the second film, Jill Valentine. This is mentioned briefly at the end of the plot and IPs are coming in removing it citing (when using an edit summary) that she is not in the film. Could we get page protection for a few days, so hopefully they will go to the talk page and discuss with the rest of us. Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Current requests for protection

Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    Request for multiple protections

Can a kind admin go through our new database report for high-visibility, non-protected templates? They are listed in descending order of tranclusions, so go down the list until the number of tranclusions is not too much. Keep in mind that many of them may have already been done. Resident Evil: Afterlife (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protect. Thanks. Mike Allen 22:21, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Pixie Lott discography (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi protection. uncconfirmed WP:CRYSTAL additions. Mister sparky (talk) 21:02, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Issue is with one user; please report to WP:AIV if user ignores warnings. Jmlk17 21:07, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

    Afghanistan (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Full protect. An extreme POV-pushing editor (User:JCAla) who doesn't follow Wiki guidlines took control of the Afghanistan page and will not allow others to edit. He reverts my every edit and makes up very uneducated reasons. He completely removes well acceptable sources. He broke the 3rr and I reported him but nothing was done there to stop him. He cites anything he finds in search including youtube videos, books without page numbers, most of his sources don't reflect his edits, and he even removes disputed tags over and over, he's provoking me and I don't want to edit war. Please help, thanks.--Jrkso (talk) 01:03, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

User(s) blocked. Both JCAla and Jrsko have been blocked for 24 hours for edit warring, as what we have here appears to be a content dispute. Tabercil (talk) 21:11, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

    Mobbing (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protect. Article is being targeted by sockpuppets being used for block evasion. MrOllie (talk) 19:59, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Tabercil (talk) 21:16, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

    User:Inka 888 (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Move protection. I would like my user page move protected --Inka 18:56, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Move protected. More than likely not necessary, but, whatever. The only time it would need to go somewhere would be a bureaucrat doing a rename. Courcelles 19:32, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

    The Mousetrap (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indef Semi-protect. Immediately after previous 1-month semi has expired, IPs again come back every day attempting to remove the spoiler. This .no sign of going away; if anything the recent Independent coverage of the article is going to make the problem worse. It seems that indefinite semi is the only way to manage this, unfortunately. Cyclopia 17:15, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of one year, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Not quite indefinite, but we can play it by ear in Fall 2011. Jmlk17 17:33, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you very much. --Cyclopia 19:21, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

    Magnificent (U2 song) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection - an IP is constantly changing a direct quote, resulting in a slow but ongoing edit war. Melicans (talk, contributions) 16:36, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. or take to WP:ANEW, but this is a content dispute. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:44, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Note: It appears that the editors are now in agreement. Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 16:46, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

    Mark Zuckerberg (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. There is almost a continuous stream of unconstructive (and worse) IP edits to this article that have to be reverted.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:58, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 1 month, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. TNXMan 15:27, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Iwo Cyprian Pogonowski (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection. Various IPs have been repeatedly adding the same derogatory personal comments to this BLP for some time - here's an example from June. I haven't checked any earlier, but it's been getting more frequent recently, with a lot in the past week. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:34, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 2 weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. TNXMan 14:39, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
