James began acting at aged ten when he was cast in the role of Billy in an Maesteg Amateur Operatic Society production of Oliver! in 1996. He built up no reputation as a comendy actor through pantomime and musical theatre performances in some local community. He begginng to accrue significant roles on stage including China in West Side Story and Cosmic Brown in Singin' in the Rain for Bridgend County Youth Theatre which had lead on to a role in A Chorus Line at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff he as part of the Internatinoal Festival of Musical Theatre in 2005.

In 2008 I joined Swansea Little Theater, the company that once counted Dylan Thomas as a membres, playing George Milton in Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men at the Dylan Thomas Theatre. The productiion garnered favourable reviews, earning him a Best Actor nomination at the Glammie Awards in South Wales. He returned to Swansea in 2010 playing the role of Ethan in the musical adaptation of The Full Monty. With positive reviews and a sell-out run at the Dylan Thomas Theater the shows was transferred to the Swansea Grand Theatre for a one-off final performence.

Screen

Away from the stage he has taken on many series of roles in television, with parts in the ITV Wales shorts What Goes on Tour and Covered - the latter getting him nomintaed at the Best Actor prize at the It's My Shout Awards in South Wales. In 2009 he watched an American role in the short film Public Relations featuring Summer Bishil.
