Hi, I have some socks following me but I don't know who the master would be, I was wondering if there is a place to report lone ducks or should I use an SPI and just not fill in the master name part and ask for blocking under WP:DUCK? I ask you because you did block one of my followers-], and users ] and ] are quite similar to that duck. Also The Sham just broke 1RR and refused to revert and Torch re-added OR again to an article I can't revert on, so I can't put up with them any longer. Thanks, ] ] 21:46, 24 February 2011 (UTC) Hi, I have some socks following me but I don't know who the master would be, I was wondering if there is a place to report lone ducks or should I use an SPI and just not fill in the master name part and ask for blocking under WP:DUCK? :Well I went ahead and started an SPI...Anyways I had another question, does rejecting someone's edit through my reviewer rights count as a revert? and am I allowed to revert IPs unlimited, as I know 1RR did not include reverts of an IP's edits? If you are interested in trying Kissle, edit the dedicated "requests" section below. Please leave bug reports and feature requests on this page. Thanks.
My off-wiki communications policy: I prefer, to the extent possible, that all communications regarding a Wikimedia matter be done on-wiki for the sake of transparency. If there is a compelling reason why it should be done off-wiki, you may email me or talk to me on IRC, but:
  1. For IRC, timely, prompt, or indeed any response is not guaranteed. I stay on IRC even if I am away. If you do not get a response, you may simply send your entire inquiry (i.e., instead of "may I ask a question", ask the question!), in which case I'll treat it like emails when I come back to my computer.
  2. For emails, I will try to respond as soon as I can, but real-life work obviously must take precedence, and it is easy for incoming emails to get lost after a few days. If you don't get a response within a few days, try leaving me a message on my talk page.
  3. In all cases, I will respond on-wiki unless there is a compelling reason not to or you explicitly request that I keep it off-wiki. In the latter case, I reserve the right to not respond at all to the message.
  4. Please do not send private or confidential information; those should be directed to the Arbitration Committee.

Please click here to leave me a new message.

One-sided interaction bans?

Hello Tim. I recall that you have opinions on how to set up interaction bans. Do you see anything the matter with banning A from interacting with B, but not vice-versa? I see that Arbcom did that with Abtract and Collectonian back in 2008. This came to mind because of WP:ANI#Proposed interaction ban. I think that WP:ARBPIA and WP:EEML also contain examples of one-sided bans, but I don't know whether this formula has been successful. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 23:56, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

The EEML one was later replaced with a two sided ban in WP:ARBRB. In general, one-sided bans are very easily gamed, since one party cannot interact with the other, but the other party has no concomitant obligation to stay away. Even when there's no objective gaming going on, the perceptions of the party under the ban may be influenced by the ban, to the point where they perceive gaming (not unjustifiably). Just my $0.02. T. Socks & Ducks

Hi, I have some socks following me but I don't know who the master would be, I was wondering if there is a place to report lone ducks or should I use an SPI and just not fill in the master name part and ask for blocking under WP:DUCK? I ask you because you did block one of my followers-User:Why Me Why U, and users User:Rym torch and User:The Sham are quite similar to that duck. Also The Sham just broke 1RR and refused to revert and Torch re-added OR again to an article I can't revert on, so I can't put up with them any longer. Thanks, Passionless -Talk 21:46, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
