Scotland + telephone

WRT your edit of the Scotland page. Last I checked, Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Although some people clame the telephone history and invention credits are more complex, it was Bell who patented the device. Since Bell was from Scotland, it can be claimed as a "Scotish Invention". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rincewind42 (talkcontribs)

Irish people for peer review?

The additions and editions made on this page even within recent weeks - especily photos - has vastly improved it, to the better I think. Would you support it being submitted for a peer review, and help tidy it up/add some more? Fergananim 14:13, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Northern Ireland on the ancient Rome map

Ha! An oversight. I used a map with boundaries as a template, and erased all the boundaries. But not all, apparently. Happy Holidays, – Quadell 15:06, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Tony Soprano

Hi, could you try to expand Tony Soprano a bit? There needs to be something special to warrant inclusion in the list of iconic smokers— Preceding unsigned comment added by Zanaq (talkcontribs)

O'Toole

Hi, if he was born in Leeds and his mother was a Scottish, isn't he a British citizen as well as an Irish citizen? Arniep 21:23, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:7 whisky bottles.JPEG

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:7 whisky bottles.JPEG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -- Longhair 00:21, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

POV

Misplaced Pages is not a soapbox, please refrain from putting your Biased opinions into articles. Otherwise there is a big chance that you will be banned indefinately.Superdude99 22:44, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Wonder what your POV is?

have you read the page on userboxes? http://en.wikipedia.org/User:NSR/userboxes

User boxes that are designed to provoke, offend, or reflect a POV rather than show expertise are generally discouraged. Jimbo Wales wrote on the matter: Userboxes of a political or, more broadly, polemical, nature are bad for the project. They are attractive to the wrong kinds of people, and they give visitors the wrong idea of what it means to be a Wikipedian. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karatekid7 (talkcontribs)

What is POV about my remark on Natalee Holloway?--137.120.222.64 14:52, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Sure, http://frontpage.fok.nl/nieuws/62357 (Dutch news site that allows visitors to express their opinion) --137.120.222.64 14:57, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Not really, of course the average age there would probably be lower then the average age of the general population as goes for almost everything on the internet but the site is not aimed at teenagers only. Plus I reported the general concerns of the Dutch population, that site is not my only source it's merely to show you how it is. I can give you countless of other sources. e.g. http://www.ad.nl/binnenland/article159750.ece#reactie --137.120.222.64 15:09, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Why does the link have to be English? If you demand only English sources for your holloway article you will only get the obviously biased POV of american media. Is that what you are trying to do here? I gave you several links perfectly showing the public opinion and I'm sure you can find someone willing to translate if you don't trust me on that. --137.120.222.64 15:22, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
