Welcome
- Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Misplaced Pages:
- The five pillars of Misplaced Pages
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Please bear these points in mind while editing Misplaced Pages
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Misplaced Pages's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Misplaced Pages page and follow Misplaced Pages's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
The Misplaced Pages tutorial is a good place to start learning about Misplaced Pages. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Archobarzane
In English sources this is the king known as Ariobarzanes - the article title needs to reflect this and distinguish him from the other kings of that name. I'd also suggest a complete rewrite using reliable (see WP:RS) sources written in English and a bit more modern. You might want to read WP:CITE to see how to do inline citations properly. Thanks for your contributions, it's good to see these new articles. Dougweller (talk) 06:08, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Re: you want a talk about an image on this article Augustine of Hippo
Hello,
This kind on sentences is rude and unacceptable. Please avoid it for the next times you are writing a message on my talk page.
Otherwise, the use on En.WP is to put "French Algeria" for people born in French Algeria (before 1962), putting "Algeria" instead of "French Algeria" is an OR since, as internationally recognized, Algeria was part of France, not a "Colony".
I hope that you will understand that disruptive edits and PoV militantism aren't appreciated on WP, and I hope that you will not be blocked again because of that, as it happened on last time with your other account, Omar2788.
Thanks for understanding that.
Omar-Toons (talk) 12:20, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- what i don't understand is that you are always on my foot steps. I really don't appreciate that, if you can work on other projects that doesn't concern Algeria, it will be really a great thing, since you are not a member of the Algeria Project, and that your edits are symbolic and useless nonsenses, as french Algeria (we've got this talk earlier on the other wiki). about the augustine article, you haven't made any point about your counter edits.
- Dzlinker (talk)
- Hello,
- For the second time, I ask you to avoid this kind of aggressive messages : WP is a participative Project, you can't deny to anyone the right to participate because of his nationality, race, religion, origin, participation to a project or I don't know what else.
- On the other hand, keeping the NPoV policy on people born in French Algeria is undiscutable, putting "Algeria" instead of "French Algeria" is a PoV since, as internationally recognised, the territory was part of France (not a Colony, nor a protectorate or sth like that).
- Unfortunately, I have to report that to the Board.

Non-free rationale for File:Arkoun.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Arkoun.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 18:20, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Chaâbi Rock'n Bled
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Chaâbi Rock'n Bled requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Quiggers1P (talk) 17:36, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
I apologise, my error there, this page is fine in my opinion. Quiggers1P (talk) 17:38, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Chaâbi Rock'n Bled requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

Replaceable fair use File:Baaziz - poster for a show in Paris.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Baaziz - poster for a show in Paris.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 05:40, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

I reverted your deletion of the replaceable fair use template that was on File:Baaziz - poster for a show in Paris.jpg. Please follow this instructions instead of simply deleting the template. Aspects (talk) 01:12, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Culture3 382466.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Misplaced Pages, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions.

Proposed deletion of Amar Ezzahi
The article Amar Ezzahi has been proposed for deletion because, under Misplaced Pages policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:
- all biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Fair use rationale for File:Abdelkrim.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Abdelkrim.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Misplaced Pages articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Non-free rationale for File:Abderrahmane-fares.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Abderrahmane-fares.jpg. A Move You Made...
Hello, I was just alerted on #wikipedia-en-help that you made a "Copy and Paste" move of a page. We at Misplaced Pages frown upon that method for various reasons, mainly because it doesn't move the history or move the associated talkpage. Please use the tool Special:Movepage to move pages in the future and before moving an article to a basically whole new name, please gain consensus on the article's talkpage. I am referring to your move of Kabyle people to Kablyian people. Please be sure to follow procedures and processes we have setup here. Thank you. JoeGazz ♂ 14:39, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Please gain consensus on Kabyle people talkpage before implementing an article name change. You have already been requested to do so once before. --Bob247 (talk) 00:20, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello,
Please avoid this kind of comments in the future, otherwise I'll have to report you for PA to the RA.
Thanks in advance.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.
In particular, the three-revert rule states that:
- Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --Omar-Toons (talk) 11:12, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- Dzlinker, you are risking a block for edit warring at Template:History of Morocco. You may want to respond to the complaint at WP:AN3#User:Dzlinker reported by User:Omar-Toons (Result: ). If you think that your version of the template is supported by consensus, please link to where that consensus was obtained. You may be able to avoid a block if you will undo your last change. Edit warring at Template:History of Morocco
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring, as you did at Template:History of Morocco. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
The complete report of this case is at WP:AN3#User:Dzlinker reported by User:Omar-Toons (Result: Both 48h). EdJohnston (talk) 16:05, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
A question
Hey,
I wanted to ask you re this diff isn't Bejaia a Kabyle speaking city and one of the major cities of Algeria? --Tachfin (talk) 20:17, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- It's about giving a major city for each province or region. Tizi is the most representative of kabylia berbers - Dzlinker (talk) 02:28, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ok that makes sens. Thank you! --Tachfin (talk) 03:56, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Copyright infringement
Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. We appreciate your contributions to the article Revolt of the Rif, (1957-1959), but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition was deleted under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Misplaced Pages to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License." You may also e-mail or mail the Foundation to release the content. See Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials for more.
While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Misplaced Pages takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
You might want to look at Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. The entire text was taken from Historical Dictionary of the Berbers, by Hsain Ihallelen. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:27, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Tuareg people. Please review the guidelines at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. In BLP matters, sourcing ought to be above average--"citation needed" is not acceptable. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 02:29, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is People born in French Algeria : Nationalistic edits by_Dzlinker. Thank you Tachfin (talk) 04:19, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

talk transfered from here
Hello,
The user Dzlinker is processing a wave of nationalistic edits by replacing French Algeria by Algeria in biography pages of French people born in pré-1962 Algeria, here are some examples:
- Yves Saint Laurent (designer) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Jean-Pierre Elkabbach (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Évariste Lévi-Provençal (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Pierre Rehov (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Jean-Luc Azoulay (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Albert Camus (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Jacques Derrida (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Claire Messud (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Patrick Bruel (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) ;
- Claude Cohen-Tannoudji (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views).
On each article he was reverted by many users, but he keeps pushing his nationalistic edits.
I'm not asking to block him, but to explain to him that he can't push his PoV this way, but that he has to start a global discussion about people born in French Algeria to seek for a new consensus.
Thanks in advance.
Omar-Toons (talk) 22:17, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- While I don't agree with their edits, I do not see where in this content discussion there is any kind of talk going on, on their talk page or on the articles' talk pages, about why their edits are (supposedly) wrong. No discussion from your side, no discussion from their side--I think you know where this might lead to, after the edit war at Template:History of Morocco. Omar, engage in discussion before you come to ask for the stick. To put it in other words: there is nothing actionable here for an admin right now. Drmies (talk) 22:54, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Okay then, I'll try to discuss that with him, even if, I think, the one supposed to start the discussion is him, since he's one who breaks "stabilized versions" and who is reverted by many users, but no prob' ; I hope that it will work this time (since discussion is never easy with him).
Thx for the answer.
Omar-Toons (talk) 00:58, 3 September 2011 (UTC)- Omar, we've met before, I believe, and I hope you understood this in the spirit in which it was offered. Yes, perhaps they should initiate discussion, for the two reasons you cite, but they don't. At that moment it becomes incumbent on you (in my opinion) to at least make an effort. If you make that effort, and it's beyond reproach, and they fail to respond and/or modify their behavior, you can claim without doubt that you're dealing with a disruptive/incommunicative/whatever editor. It will take more time, but the end result is more likely to be a. changed editing behavior or b. forcible behavior modification. Good luck, Drmies (talk) 02:24, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- This is better suited for a request for comment since a private discussion between you two is unlikely to yield anything or get attention from uninvolved editors. The standard practice is to put the constituent country at the time of birth; however when you look around this is not the case everywhere (e.g: People born in ex-soviet union or People born in Al-Andalus). Tachfin (talk) 04:17, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- Tachfin, I never said such a conversation should be private--it shouldn't be. It should be out in the open, but an RfC is a bit heavy-handed at this point, in my opinion. And such conversations, on talk pages etc., often are useful--and if they're not, they provide evidence of engagement or disruption. Drmies (talk) 04:40, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- Drmies, I agree with you; I was referring to a discussion that would be between user:Omar-Toons and user:Dzlinker on their talk page. As there have been some attempts here for exmaple. Regards.--Tachfin (talk) 05:58, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- I notified user:Dzlinker Tachfin (talk) 04:21, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- My standard approach in these situations is to revert the change, make a post on the article's talk page explaining the reason for the revert, then make a post at the editor's talk page notifying them of both the revert, the concern, and the talk page discussion, ending with a request for their input at the article's talk page. This seems to work in the majority of cases. N419BH 05:36, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

this is really totally non human. I asked to discuss the matter with this reverter 2 months ago !!!

Dzlinker (talk) 19:20, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- Talk may go on the same page (tp). Dzlinker (talk) 19:26, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- So... I see that it will not be easier than before.
- Maybe we can find a solution through WP:CCN?
- Omar-Toons (talk) 02:46, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- Ahem. "non human"? The 'proposal' linked to by Dzlinker starts with "stop defending your false useless point of view". That's nonsense, and we don't have to take that seriously. It is also written in a grammatically challenged way, raising issues of English competency--a fair point, given that this is the English wiki. I note also that they do not address the perceived problems with their edits, noted here by a couple of editors--instead they call for a block on Omar. That's ridiculous.
Dzlinker, if you wish to help your case, help it. If you don't see what the problem is (and it seems like you don't--perhaps also a linguistic issue) then it is fair to ask whether you have the competence to operate here. Omar, I'm not sure if that board is the best option since Dzlinker's commentary hardly rises to the level of political discourse; it is little more than knee-jerk responses which can be dealt with by successively warning for what is really vandalism: disruptive and unsourced edits with an ethnic slant. Drmies (talk) 12:53, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- Well, if this is a clue of the "discussion" we are supposed to start (even the previous one was more meaningful), I don't think that we will find a solution through Dialog... Correct me I'm wrong. -- Omar-Toons (talk) 23:19, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- I am of the opinion that this might not be a only a "user issue". I think Dzlinker can be reasonably convinced; normally constituent country of birth -which still have to be defined according to each case- is indicated, which in this case would be French Algeria. But I can't find a policy or a clear a consensus on this and thus this is not applied with scrutiny and random searches indicate that it boils down to the main contributors preferences. A centralized discussion about country of birth has taken place here back in 2008, result: no body could agree on anything. Also keep in mind that sometimes users come from other wikis which had adopted other standards which of course do not apply here; this should be clarified for users who might not know it. Tachfin (talk) 04:04, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

- french algeria is not a country it's a colony an historic entity imposed by blood and fire!
- like british america or any thing else,
- i took a look here it says he was born in present-day virginia.
- if instead of french algeria we say in present-day algiers or oran or any other city, it's more correct than algeria or french algeria,
- this's a good overture, hope w'll get threw

Non-free rationale for File:Reconstitution.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Reconstitution.jpg.
File source problem with File:Wattar.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Wattar.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Misplaced Pages. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Chaâbi Rock'n Bled
The article Chaâbi Rock'n Bled has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Album lacks substantial RS coverage
While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Epeefleche (talk) 21:56, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Abdelkrim Dali
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Abdelkrim Dali requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Epeefleche (talk) 22:08, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Boudjemaâ El Ankis
The article Boudjemaâ El Ankis has been proposed for deletion because, under Misplaced Pages policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Kamal Messaoudi.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Kamal Messaoudi.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Misplaced Pages may not meet the criteria required by Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Misplaced Pages:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Pichpich (talk) 21:45, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Abdelkader Chaou
The article Abdelkader Chaou has been proposed for deletion because, under Misplaced Pages policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. About the photo that you added to this page: Misplaced Pages is using a taxonomy that considers the cedars of Algeria to be a different species, Cedrus atlantica, so you might want to consider that. Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Libya, you may be blocked from editing. The green flag of Libya has not been in use as the state flag since October 2011, and from your edit history, I suspect you're quite aware of your North African history and politics. User:Dzlinker/Userboxes/waffen-ss
I see you re-created this userbox. Partially my fault; I referenced WP:IAR last time I deleted it, which was needlessly cryptic. I've re-deleted it, and protected it against re-creation. It clearly goes against WP:UP#POLEMIC, "very divisive or offensive material not related to encyclopedia editing". Possible venues to appeal this decision are WP:DRV or WP:ANI. However, do not re-create the userbox at any other page name until you can demonstrate consensus that my deletion was wrong. Otherwise, I will block you for disruption. --Floquenbeam (talk) 18:02, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Cheb Nasro
The article Cheb Nasro has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No reliable, independent references about him. What is RAI?
While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bgwhite (talk) 06:24, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Baya Mahieddine
This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Baya Mahieddine, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://wwol.inre.asu.edu/mahieddine.html.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Copyright problem: Baya Mahieddine
Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Baya Mahieddine, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to contain material copied from http://wwol.inre.asu.edu/mahieddine.html, and therefore to constitute a violation of Misplaced Pages's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Misplaced Pages, then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author to release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Baya Mahieddine and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure you quote the exact page name, Baya Mahieddine, in your email. See Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), version 3.0, or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Baya Mahieddine with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:Baya Mahieddine. See Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Misplaced Pages article layout. For more information on Misplaced Pages's policies, see Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Baya Mahieddine saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Misplaced Pages. Happy editing! Alvestrand (talk) 23:21, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Reversion in Muhammad
I reverted your edit in Muhammad to state that Muhammad was trader, not a leader. If you pay attention to the sentence structure, you'll find that the sentence in question is talking about what Muhammad was just prior to his revelations. Only after that he became a leader -- proof of this is found in this article and other articles about Muhammad. If you have any questions or comments about this change, please reply here instead of simply reverting again. If you feel this was a POV edit, please point out where and how this is so. -- Frotz(talk) 21:56, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, it's the first adjective about Muhammed in the article, the description as a trader is not representative of the person, and he was a leader even when a trader. You know the story about the arab tribes and who'll have the honor to put the last brick in the Kaabah (when in restauration after floods), they gave Mohammed this honor because he was a respected leader in the city. Please read: The Leadership of Muhammad at Google Books by John Adair. Regards. --Dzlinker (talk) 23:04, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Okay. I'll go with that. -- Frotz(talk) 00:14, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:8 yo Hassan III of Morocco at the Zoo de Rabat get his hand kissed.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:8 yo Hassan III of Morocco at the Zoo de Rabat get his hand kissed.jpeg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 12:50, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi DZlinker
I just undid the last revision by Omar-Toons in Fkih ben Salah. He erased The link even after I provided a source (an article of the Telegraph, the prestigious English newspaper !!!!!). That link will not be erased again otherwise there will be consequences.
Thanks

Declined your AIV report
Hey, Dzlinker, just dropping in to let you know that I've declined your report at AIV about User:Omar-toons. His edits are not vandalism per Misplaced Pages's definition of vandalism. They may be disruptive in other ways (haven't looked into it closely enough to see), but they're not vandalism. Some of the diffs you reported are over a year old, so they're way way way too stale for AIV, which is intended for quick responses to immediate, uncontroversial problems. Incivil edit summaries, combative tone, edit-warring, etc. are all disruptive, but they're not vandalism, so they don't belong at AIV. And anyway, AIV requires multiple warnings before a report; just telling them "I am reporting you" doesn't cut it. Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 03:50, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for the reference regarding male prostitution in Morocco, it contains precious information, I will take it into account for further improvements...Fort-Henry (talk) 23:55, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Moving section
Hello.
Please avoid moving the section regarding sexual tourism in Morocco to your new article prostitution in Morocco. Omar-Toons jumped on the occasion on deleted the whole content from the main. A discussion is still on and a concusses should be reached before any further actions. Thanks a lot. Fort-Henry (talk) 12:28, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. Sephardi Jews
Nice to meet you. I like what you did in the Sephardi Jews infobox, I was surprised though when I didn't see Pedro Nunes there. I know his family was forced to convert but still, ethnically he was Sephardi Jew. Also, Yasmin Levi would be a good entry because she is well known and recorded in Ladino (and there should be at least one women in the image). And in order to add a person to each line we need one more, which can be David D'Or who is an extremely famous singer in Israel (and there should be representatives from Israel. Just giving few ideas. Mensch with Shteig (talk) 21:30, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
Berber revolt : Reminder
Hello,
I would like to remind you that this edit isn't consensual, and that in a previous discussion you got no consensus, but two users explaining to you that you shouldn't remove the template. You even wrote on July 2nd 2011 that you were convinced. Then, making these changes again, now, without consensus nor discussion is WP:DISRUPT.
Any further disruptive editing on this article will be reported to WP:ANI.

Proposed deletion of Nacéra Benseddik
The article Nacéra Benseddik has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- NO INDICATION OF NOTABILITY - NO THIRD PARTY SOURCES
While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Scott Mac 20:26, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Your edits to Algeria
Don't remove the French name of Algeria from the article's lede, as you did in this edit, without seeking consensus for your changes first. Willfully ignoring requests to do so again might get you blocked.--eh bien mon prince (talk) 03:46, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi! Please don't remove the French name. We had discussions at Talk:Algeria#French in lede. Even though French is not official, in reality it is the major language of business and commerce, and non-Arabized Algerian government agencies use the French language. WhisperToMe (talk) 07:29, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- hi yourself!
- many reasons pushed me to delete the french words..
- first, this is an English encyclopedia, take a look into Britannica or any other encyclopedia you don't find the french name in in the lead (here...)!! second no citation to prove your "it is the major language of business and commerce", which is not true in my opinion, and far from being consensual. Then i don't think it's important to any one to know the french word for Algeria!
- cheers. Dzlinker \,,/(*_*)\,,/ 10:38, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- "first, this is an English encyclopedia," - It's customary to put the forms of all of the languages used in a country in the lead of the article. That does not follow.
- "second no citation to prove your "it is the major language of business and commerce"" - There has been a citation used not only in the infobox (from the CIA World Factbook) but also multiple citations in the Languages of Algeria article. Someone removed this citation from the infobox of the article.
- Before your first edit: 0:433 9 March 2013 you can see a citation for "Other languages" - If you follow the citation it takes you to the CIA World Factbook. Select "People ::ALGERIA" and the languages are: "Arabic (official), French (lingua franca), Berber dialects: Kabylie Berber (Tamazight), Chaouia Berber (Tachawit), Mzab Berber, Tuareg Berber (Tamahaq)"
- The first edit you added English (which is not mentioned by the CIA World Factbook) before French
- Then French is fact tagged, while attention wasn't paid to the citation next door - then against what the internal comments said, you removed the French
- " which is not true in my opinion, and far from being consensual. Then i don't think it's important to any one to know the french word for Algeria!" - Opinions are trumped by what reliable sources say.
- WhisperToMe (talk) 13:08, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
Some other issues: This citation you inserted is just Arabic text, not organized in any meaningful way (title, volume, author, etc.)
In this edit also "10% Tuareg-Berber and sub-Saharan African" was changed to "10% Europeans and black Africans}}" - The CIA World Factbook says "Arab-Berber 99%, European less than 1%" - So I'm going with what the CIA World Factbook says WhisperToMe (talk) 13:14, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- Laws were passed to prohibit the use of french within the state facilities, universities, and even in private media.. the french speakers are mostly emigrants french-algerians, arabs who immigrated to france during the past century, so they speak french, it's part of there culture... this book says it all
- Algerians of Algeria "they" speak berber and/or arabic, some of them speak french as a second or third language..
- This is a leading part of a general purpose article, we shoudn't get into langua-franca and other linguistic details, we should just cite the official and national languages, as recognized by the constitution of the country....... details should go to the main article in languages of Algeria; that's it.
- The arabic text is quoted from a berberist named Matoub Lounes, it says that algerians who think they're arabs should just go to arabia. It's racist but it illustrates the berberist ideology.
- It's okey we can keep with Arab-Berber 99%, European less than 1% as CIA-fb says.
- Dzlinker \,,/(*_*)\,,/ 14:25, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- I am aware of the attempts to "Arabize" everything. Based on the literature I read (as of 2008), it was not entirely successful (the Languages of Algeria article covers it) and French is still common in many government departments. One source even said that the Algerian government was backtracking from trying to Arabize everything circa 2008. Regarding "some of them speak french as a second or third language" - Often second and third languages are still prominent in a country (many official languages are spoken as second or third languages!), official or not and they are listed on Misplaced Pages country templates. For instance, in South Sudan the official language is English, but the recognized national languages are also listed. The stuff found in the CIA Factbook is the stuff which can be succinctly used in an infobox as Arabic (official), Berber, and French. Also lingua francas are considered quite important in the context of a country or a region.
- Having said that I'm glad that you found that book on Algeria's languages, so I am going to see if I can use it in the Languages of Algeria article
- The Arabic text should be formatted in a way outlined at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources, so people can easily find the text and read it. Put the following things in English and the original Arabic: The author (last and first), title, publisher, year and/or date published, Volume and issue Number (if applicable), page number, and quote from the book. It may help to link to a Worldcat entry to make it easier to find the book. If it is on Google Books that's even better as one can link to the page which has the quote.
- WhisperToMe (talk) 18:24, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- From what I could gather there is no doubt that French continues to have a major role in Algerian society, much more so than English in Egypt for example. As the languages section of the article puts it, Algeria is the second Francophone country in the world and in 2008 it can be written and read by one third of all Algerians (and surveys who report similarly large numbers for other foreign languages use the much lower threshold of just 'speaking some' of that language). The book found by Dzlinker could certainly be useful, but it needs to be properly used as a source (taking care to include the page number) to support any statements in mainspace. From a rapid search it seems like the Arabization effort was rolled back in the last few years: "In 1971, officials said, the Arabization project began in earnest, when French was prohibited as a language of education. Over the years, the government has pushed back, reintroducing French, removing the most zealous religious teachers and trying to revise the religious curriculum." source.--eh bien mon prince (talk) 03:50, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- The book is explaining where French is still being used in the Algerian educational system (high school science classes, etc) and it also explains how French is still prominent in Algerian society. Expect more new content at Languages of Algeria WhisperToMe (talk) 09:05, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Nice document you got there, but as i said, i think all of this should go to the appropriate article. I should mention too that Algeria isn't par tof the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, even if it is the second most francophone one. I suggest also this article The Syndrome of the French Language in Algeria. This other article Algeria-Language qualifies french language as a lingua non gratta.. and gives details of the 1998 "Arabic Language Generalisation Law". Dzlinker \,,/(*_*)\,,/ 23:06, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- The details are already in the Languages of Algeria article, but the fact that French is a significant language in Algeria needs to be reflected in the main article. To do this, include the French Algérie in the lead. Stick to the CIA World Factbook in terms of what languages are spoken there. I am aware Algeria is not a part of the Francophonie, while neighboring Tunisia and Morocco are. It may have to do with politics (perhaps there are references that delve into this). The UK source you said reflected a 1998 law which seems to have not had the effect intended. As for the Maamri article, thank you for showing me, but I've already used it in the Languages of Algeria article and it also shows that French is still significant in Algerian society. WhisperToMe (talk) 06:03, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- Plus the British source p. 2 says "Yet Arabic is rarely heard in Kabylie, where Berber and French are spoken. In reality, French is the lingua franca of Algeria." WhisperToMe (talk) 06:20, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

Coat of arms of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic
I presume that you meant to restore this version so I went ahead and did that for you. This also involves Coat of arms of Western Sahara, bacily (the way I see it) he's been trying to split the article in two despite conciseness to have one article. Related discussion at Misplaced Pages:Neutral_point_of_view/Noticeboard#Flag_and_Coat_of_arms_of_Western_Sahara_.2F_SADR and Talk:Coat_of_arms_of_the_Sahrawi_Arab_Democratic_Republic#Move.3F. templates
Hi, I noticed that you voted in Misplaced Pages:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2013_March_17, you said "every one of them could be improved". I just wondered how we can improve template:Israfil, as it is composed of only two links, may be used by one page only, uses decorative colors violating Misplaced Pages:Manual_of_Style/Infoboxes#Style.2C_color_and_formatting mentioning infoboxes should not be arbitrarily decorative, has content violating Misplaced Pages:Template_namespace#Usage line 14 that mentions template shouldn't have content. If you can not substantiate you vote please withdraw your comment because we are trying to cleanup pages by deleting some of the templates and your vote may adversely affect our efforts.Kiatdd (talk) 08:39, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Sir, another editor replied to your comment in tfd. Besides you didn't explain how we can possibly fix template israfil and other similar oddities in template space, I suggest following wikipedia manual of style guidelines which I explained to you in my previous message, rather than "personal opinions". I still haven't seen you substantiate your comments based on these guidelines.Kiatdd (talk) 07:34, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
Berber Revolt
Cdlt.--Waran18 (talk) 11:55, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
