:But that is what i mean by saying that you can't see the wood for the trees. It's the personal attacks, flame wars, and uncivilised edits that are wrong not the words themselves. If I said " go fornicate with your own gradma" that'd be pretty offensive wouldn't it? But it doesn't use any curse words at all. You have to look at the meaning, the intention behind what someone says. The Anon, in the first instance was not trying to offend. Also you need to remember that wikipedia is cross culturial. Words can have differnt meanings in different places. In England, tosser is a mild swear word in America it's what you dry a salad with. In most of England calling someone a cunt is just about the worst insult ever but in some circles in london mates sometimes call each other cunts in a playful way. To reiterate my point. the words themselves cannot be ruled out based on your opinion alone. it is the meaning behind those words that count. If there is no intention to offend then there is no way you'll ever get an admin to ban, or the wider wikipedia community to aprove censoring. ] | ] 22:21, 7 July 2006 (UTC) :But that is what i mean by saying that you can't see the wood for the trees. Bose Headphone Family Thanks!

As always thanks for the help on this page I have spent a lot of time trying to make it better. I am very grateful that there is someone else dedicated to this page and helping me keep it NPOV... even if we don’t entirely agree about the headphones. I tried to get this page semi-protected but they said it needed to be vandalized a lot more before that was necessary... damn... I included a little thank you for all your help! --UKPhoenix79 07:32, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

A Barnstar! The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Thanks for helping me keep the Bose Headphone Family page NPOV and defending against the multitude of trollers that Bose seams to gather.

Time Crisis 3

  • I'm not sure where you found the voice acting information, but I have reason to believe it may be false. Lynn Harris, or possibly an oveerzealous fanboy/girl of hers, is passing around false information about her voice credits. If you can find some corroborating proof of your credits, that would be great, as despite all proof to the contrary I don't want to believe this is a total hoax. Thanks. Danny Lilithborne 03:37, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
    • I know a lot of people get uncredited work. :) But Lynn Harris is a special case; she seemed to appear out of nowhere on IMDB and claimed credit for many games in which she could not have possibly done. (For example, the CPS1 and CPS2 Street Fighter games used speech synthesis to generate the voices, so she could not have done Chun-Li for those games.) Some ridiculous credit was also given (NES Metal Gear, Chun-Li in Street Fighter) and a poster by the name of "ocean_secrets" (likely also "AmazonFighter") heavily hypes Ms. Harris. Add that up with the anime photograph on IMDB and how she just happens to be the only voice credit for the majority of the games she's listed in, and all evidence points to a hoax. I just want to see something substantive that shows that Ms. Harris even exists as a voice actress. Omarosa

I have put a cleanup tag, as it suits the article better. Ohyeahmormons 09:24, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Time Crisis

Good idea, Mark, I'll do the same.

Protection

Hi Mark, sorry but the user is an AOL IP, which means the person who vandalised then will not be the person vandalising the other article. This means that blocks must be kept to something like 15 mins, and no longer; when other blocks can go up to a month. There has also not been "enough" vandalism to the article for it to be protected, see WP:PPOL for more info, and when an article can be protected; also the vandalism appears to have died down, so there is no need to worry: revert! If the vandalism get to something like this, the protection can come in. If there are any other things you need me for, or you wish for me to protect the article when vandalism gets out of hand, feel free to contact me on my talk page. Thanks! Bose QC3's

Thought that I'd point out the changes on the Bose Headphone Family page like moving the old headphones to their own page and the announcement by bose of the QC3's. Chat to ya later. -- UKPhoenix79 03:17, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Well after all the convos back and forward about the QuietComforts I'm glad that you like them! From what I have been able to find out they are going to run for $349 USD have only one cord like the previous version, be smaller, have a vastly improved active noise reduction tech and.... well... they look very cool! I'm just not too keen on having a rechargable battery that lasts for 20 hours. I would love it if they can put that improved active noise cancellation tech inside of the QC2's with their naturally better passive noise redusing circumaural design! I liked your suggestion for "Legacy Bose Headphones" maybe we could use that in the article, but I would agree that Previous Bose Headphones would make more sense to most people. Maybe if we go to a Bose store on June 14th they'll let us get a sneak peak before anyone else? Bose Australia already has some info up in their support page. Chat to ya later! -- UKPhoenix79 04:09, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Matsuda/Masuda

  • To be honest, I'm not really sure what you're talking about, but feel free to fix the kanji; my Japanese is horrid. All I know is, there is a woman who gets credits as "Yuki Matsuda" and a man who gets credits as "Yuuki Matsuda" or "Yuuki Masuda". They're different people, and it caused me a lot of confusion when I heard Daichi Misawa's voice. As far as the last names go, I really don't know enough to say either way. Danny Lilithborne 04:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
  • You should go ahead and do what you feel is best; I'm already more confused than when I first started out trying to figure out why a female seiyuu sounded so much like a man. I just need to know if Daichi Misawa is voiced by the same person who did the voice of K`. Other than that, I have no doubts that you know more about the subject than I do. Danny Lilithborne 02:59, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

yes, but...

What you're doing is effectively vandalism. There are no rules against the use of what you call "foul language" on the Misplaced Pages, at all. Just because it offends you doesn't mean it is in any way grounds for removing content. Once again, it is actual policy that the Misplaced Pages is not censored for the protection of minors.

Oh, and your edit summary for removing my previous comment should have read "deleting". Considering it appears you're not going to cease removing users comments, I'm going to have to report this on the admin noticeboard. --Kiand 14:03, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

A reiteration

Thank you for your efforts to "clean up" Misplaced Pages but, aside from direct personal attacks, Misplaced Pages is not censored. Please read this policy as soon as possible, and take whatever steps you feel are necessary within your own home. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 14:14, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. If parts of the Internet aren't appropriate for your children, then don't let them use those parts of the Internet; don't try to change that part of the Internet (just because it happens to be a wiki). There's lots of "inappropriate" sites out there that you can't edit (porn sites come to mind), so this is an ineffective strategy for dealing with what your children see. --Cyde↔Weys 17:12, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I think the problem here is that you feel so strongly about this issue that you cannot see the wood for the trees. I understand that you do not like the use of "foul language" but you need to understand that not everyone sees it the way you do and we all have to work together. If you think for a minute i am sure that you can see that the anon was not intending to personally insult anyone. Crap is a very mild swear word indeed. Leaving a warning to "watch you language" over this was inflammatory. You could have handled it much better. Also you must not warn people that they will be banned for using swear words. You are not an admin and have no powers to ban anyone. You just need to tone it down a bit. If someone uses language that you do not like then try asking them nicely to rephrase "I'm a bit sensitive over swear words, would you consider removing them so that we can work together without me feeling uncomfortable" might be one way to phrase the request. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 21:57, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I've read your comment and I am sorry you disagree, but there are two problems: one, the policy is long-standing and will not (and, frankly should not) change; two, it is considered rude to the extreme to edit someone else's comments unless they constitute an intentional incivility or personal attack, which is usually sufficient reason to remove them in their entirety. I do not disagree that the use of profanity is usually unnecessary; the remedy is the problem. Try asking the individual users (nicely, of course) to reign in the language; a well-reasoned argument that profanity undermines others' willingness (or abilities) to take them seriously may do the trick. Others may tell you where to stuff it, which indeed would violate WP:CIVIL. Good luck! RadioKirk (u|t|c) 22:08, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Theresa Knott's comments both there and here are succinct and correct, I have nothing to add to them. :) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 22:15, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Articles' talk pages are not bound by WP:NPOV, and subject lines are like the comments themselves: unless they blatantly violate WP:CIVIL or WP:NPA, altering them is rude; asking the editor to change it is fine, however. :) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 22:19, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Copied from my talk page

It's best to keep the conversation in one place IMO so I'm copying your comment and my reply here. If you want to reply to me you can just do it here, i'll put this page on my talk page for a little while. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn

Honestly (Warning, Strong Language Examples)

Honestly, words like "fuck", "shit", "ass", "asshole", should not be used (excuse me, but I'm using examples here) because 99% of the time, words like what I've mentioned are used during personal attacks, flame wars, and uncivilized edits. Anyway, if you don't believe why I feel that who posted the latest comment at the Sennheiser Talk Page deserved to be either edited and/or deleted, please read the latest comment. — Mark Kim (Reply/Start Talk) 22:10, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

But that is what i mean by saying that you can't see the wood for the trees.
