What needs the most attention? re: Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Alternative music
Hello, reaching out as a beginner Wiki editor to see if there are certain areas in the Wikiproject Alternative music that deserve special attention. Let me know if you have any ideas! Js4189a (talk) 12:18, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply on H.D. External Link. I re-added it. Buckmor54 (talk) 21:12, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
Hello. I noticed that you removed the External Link to Find A Grave that I added to the article on H.D. (Hilda Doolittle). I'm curious as to why you felt it necessary to do that. Buckmor54 (talk) 23:23, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

13 December is the day when WE, THE Swedes perplex the rest of the world by showing up way too early in the morning dressed in white tunics, candles in their hair, singing and bringing saffron buns and breakfast in bed to nice people. Hope you have a bright day! Hafspajen (talk) 10:09, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

How's the article coming? We're probably a little late for it to run Christmas eve this year, but we should still get it ready. =) Adam Cuerden 19:07, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- Not great Adam to be honest. Real life has caught up unfortunatly, and but would still like to do up the article in the next week. We might have a FP nom with a decent article for next year. Ceoil (talk) 01:49, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
Murder of Kylie Maybury
Hi We worked together to keep Samantha Smith a Featured Article, so I'm hoping you'd be willing to do me a big favour and help me in expanding Murder of Kylie Maybury. I'm also contacting other Wikipedians from the old days to try and help us with Kylie's article. Paul Austin (talk) 18:49, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

St Francis
Looks fantastic! Victoria (tk) 20:08, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm wondering that all the sources are referring to the Seraph-Christ, but there are two, not three, sets of wings. Ceoil (talk) 20:28, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- I wondered that too and then realised the third set is wrapped around his legs. I've found a few descriptions (surprisingly few!) that I've bookmarked to be added. Removing the "Christ" section was a good decision imo. Victoria (tk) 20:43, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, though I think the description sect might need a bit more; will tackle later on. Its shaping up well at this stage, we have a good variety of sources. Ceoil (talk) 20:45, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- It does need a little more. I got caught (overwhelmed) in the technical details and am now ready to fill in gaps elsewhere. I can maybe get to some of it tonight. Victoria (tk) 20:48, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- Added the other version of Christ, but my cropping between the two images is not exactly matching. Dman it. Other than Jesus, I'm not finding a huge amount else that needs to be added, though will comb through for a day or so. Ceoil (talk) 23:11, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- I've not read through yet and wrote in some sort of a fit of "have to do it now" that came over me a few days before xmas. A bit tied up at the moment for a few hours, but I'd like to comb through myself - I thought there were a few points to be clarified but it's hard to tell when completely immersed in the sources. I needed a few days to regain perspective. Cropping isn't an issue for me, so don't worry about that. It really looks nice w/ detail from both paintings. Victoria (tk) 23:42, 26 December 2014 (UTC)

Megadeth (it versus they)
Hey Ceoil, appreciate your copyediting work on the article. Just to mention, Megadeth is regarded in third person singular, so they/theirs are not applicable here. It was settled to go with "it" because of the band's American origin.--Retrohead (talk) 18:08, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

The Waterboys' Paul Brown
Hello! I see you may have an interest for The Waterboys' Paul Brown article. The artist requested help on the IRC channel recently to develop this article, and made a copy and paste copyvio draft on the talk page (which has already been taken care of and deleted). As a result of this, I talk to them a bit and got them to post a list of possible sources on the talk page instead. I've copied the WikiProject banners from the band's talk page, and this page will need to have each WikiProject assess their own importance and ratings on the topic. Thank you for your assistance. — {{U|Technical 13}} 20:00, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Sorry btw for being cranky and disappearing - got bit hard by a flu bug. Plus, for some reason a tree had sprouted in my living room, shedding needles all over the place, and I couldn't get to the bookcases until it was banished! Which it now has been and so life is back to normal. Phew! Victoria (tk) 16:53, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

John Bauer
Hello, I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting before. I noticed that you are doing some editing on the John Bauer (illustrator). Are you prepping it for something or are you just doing some edits that you think are better? While I don't mind the placing of the picture being varied (I had originally placed them something like that) the reviewer corrected this. Due to many editors tinkering with the pictures in this article, it almost did not pass the GAN. I hope this isn't the beginning of something like that, since that would jeopardize the article's current GA status. And yes, the pictures above are exquisite, I love them all. But during the review it was agreed that the picture in the article should represent Bauer's different techniques and parts of his life, not just "the best of". Additional pictures should be placed in Among Gnomes and Trolls. I hope this makes sense to you. And while Hafspajen may mock me as one of "the little people", my expansion of the article was in response to his wanting a nice text for the Tuvstarr pic. - Sorry about it, but this gave me kind of a shock. I removed this article from my watchlist for a long time ago, you know wery well WHY: . Now the topic came up again, because I somebody nominated a picture so I was surprised about the fact this pic that I added to the article wasn't there any more. You forget also the fact that before you came by I edited that article and had it on my watchlist. That was a long time ago. I read the review, and I think that mocking might be mutual... nasty editors editwarring over pictures? It looks like you thought I was a nasty editor. Pity you didn't payed more attention to comments like this: I think it would be an improvement to this article to include his most iconic works in the gallery here (maybe in conjuncture with the prose too) instead of using that space for relatively unknown, niche works. See for example here some of his most iconic works that were used on Swedish stamps, only one of which is included in this article. because the guy was right, and just complained about nasty people.
- I am not talking about the text but the pictures. The article currently contains loads of low quality scans, like File:John Bauer self-portrait 1908.jpg, bad, washed out colours, File:Lappar i snöstorm av John Bauer.jpg some scan from an art book, this one - and nothing that he really is noted or famous for. That's a lame excuse that they can be found in an other article. I am sicerely shocked over the choice. Hafspajen (talk) 20:40, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Hafspajen: As I recall, it was all a bit of a mess when the whole thing started, I got caught in the crossfire between you and another editor, and bit by bit things were sorted out. It was my very first GA, which is always very tough, and I might have missed some things. I am still not too familiar with how a GA should be made and what changes can be done afterwards, without loosing the article's status. Why don't you discus the pictures with CaroleHenson who was the reviewer and better at this than I am, and see what can be done. The two pics you mention were placed as examples of early art (the book is mentioned in the text) and self-portraits. But I agree with you that these reproductions leave much to be desired. Do you have access to better copies? w.carter-Talk 20:57, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi W.carter; you are not beholden to any one GA reviewer, and by the way sorry if we have gotten off on the wrong foot. It seems to me that you were misinformed by CaroleHenson. Ceoil (talk) 21:45, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I remember now. I tried to forget, it was not you, but him. And the other editor made several attempts of outing towards me, why he never get blocked for that only God knows. The better scans are just above. I will not go edit that article again, but Ceoil who has circa 40 FAs might have some ideas. Hafspajen (talk) 22:08, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

Well, I'm always open to suggestions and improvements as long as it's within the guidelines. I did some tweaking in the article that I don't think anyone can object to. The number of pics is still the same, one un-important gone and the nominated pic back. One can never have too many Featured pictures in an article, right? ;) And let's hope that Hafs digs up some better copies of the other pics. Those reproductions really are below par.
