*You may not use the logos in the way you insist on doing. I have reverted your re-insertion again and reported this to ] . Please note that if ] law worked as you seem to think it does, you could make a million t-shirts with any logo on it you wanted. If you did so with, say, the logo of Coca-Cola their lawyers would be on your doorstep faster than you could put a t-shirt on. I invite you to reconsider your actions and your understanding of fair use law. --] 13:26, 29 October 2006 (UTC) *You may not use the logos in the way you insist on doing. Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 9% for major edits and 5% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits outside the Misplaced Pages, User, Image, and all Talk namespaces.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear inpolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 04:22, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Please check your WP:NA entry

Greetings, editor! Your name appears on Misplaced Pages:List of non-admins with high edit counts. If you have not done so lately, please take a look at that page and check your listing to be sure that following the particulars are correct:

  1. If you are an admin, please remove your name from the list.
  2. If you are currently interested in being considered for adminship, please be sure your name is in bold; if you are opposed to being considered for adminship, please cross out your name (but do not delete it, as it will automatically be re-added in the next page update).
  3. Please check to see if you are in the right category for classification by number of edits.

Thank you, and have a wiki wiki day! BDAbramson T 04:14, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:FormerNWTcapitals.png

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:FormerNWTcapitals.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — Rebelguys2 09:03, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

MLA's

Thanks. I wish I could put some of the other info that I have but it's original research that I got from meeting them. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:44, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

History of Northwest Territories capital cities

I hope you haven't given up on your FAC! Raul (the Featured Article director) seems to have left it a little while extra because it was an indecisive vote. I have added a few actionable comments here: . I think if you address them you can have an FA. Cheers, Marskell 22:45, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

who are you to comment on what I do?

Template:Canadian federal political parties

You reverted my removal of fair use images from this template. Per Misplaced Pages policy as laid out at Misplaced Pages:Fair use criteria item #9, you are not allowed to use fair use tagged images (such as Image:Lib-can cropped.png) outside of the main article namespace. This policy proscribes such use in templates. Please do not re-insert these party logos, or any other fair use image, back into this template or any other template. Thank you, --Durin 15:36, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

The Working Man's Barnstar

Alberta elections

Most of the Green Party of Alberta candidates for the next election have not been set yet. I expect that will start to change once the summer is over. I'll probably be finding out if I'm running again by the end of September. (Our next convention is Sept.30-Oct.1 in Calgary.) If I am reelected as President of the party (my 2 year term is up at this convention) I almost certainly won't be running as a candidate next election—so I can stay focused on my organizational duties.

Regarding the incumbent MLA bio stubs—I agree with you. There's generally not a lot of exciting writing there :-) I've tended to add stubs only for the ones I've met and/or taken photos of.

Cheryl Kaye Tardif

Thank you so much for your support and for the Keep vote on this article. I am very new here and this was the first article I had contributed to Wiki. Of course I had no idea that it would spin into such controversy, and as I haven't had time to read the entire Wiki policy guide (has anyone???? yikes!), I realized afterward that I committed a Wiki faux pas by writing about myself. Regardless, I appreciate your support and the support of others. The article was kept. Thank you! Much appreciated!!!!! All the best!(Cherylktardif 22:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC))

Just a question about Pelly

Ever been there? I'm a descendant of the township and it's just weird such a hamlet has an entry here.

  • Hi, I created that article because it was near Fort Livingstone Historical site, I was actually born in Calgary and my family is from Quebec. --Cloveious 02:46, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Use of fair use images for decorative purposes

Greetings.

You reverted my removal of fair use images that were used for a decorative purpose on the 40th Canadian federal election article. The use of images in this way violates Misplaced Pages:Fair use criteria item #8. Party logos can be used on the pages specifically discussing that party, but to use them in the manner you have violates our policies. Please note the policy says "The material must contribute significantly to the article". In function, having the logos does nothing in terms of identification that noting the party names does not also serve. As such, the function you are using it for is a decorative use and is not acceptable under our policy. Please do not reinsert the images back into the article. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 13:19, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

  • You may not use the logos in the way you insist on doing. I have reverted your re-insertion again and reported this to Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents . Please note that if fair use law worked as you seem to think it does, you could make a million t-shirts with any logo on it you wanted. If you did so with, say, the logo of Coca-Cola their lawyers would be on your doorstep faster than you could put a t-shirt on. I invite you to reconsider your actions and your understanding of fair use law. --Durin 13:26, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
