Joseph Kupelwieser moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Joseph Kupelwieser, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Misplaced Pages). I've moved your page to draft space (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) where you can work on it with minimal disruption. When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. Live and let die... LouisAlain (talk) 10:54, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Hi! There are three references in this article, but not one of them mentions this person. This is a brief biographic listing for a nineteenth-century soldier, this is a link to a book by Rita Steblin on a commercial online bookseller site, and this links to a page on Die Müllerin von Burgos by von Suppé, not on IMSLP as claimed, but on The Classical Composers Database. Not one of the four is (as far as I can see) a reliable source by our standards. I strongly suggest that from now on you create pages in draft space only; that means that if you want to start a page on, say, Josef Giannatassio Del Rio, you do not start it at Josef Giannatassio Del Rio but at Draft:Josef Giannatassio Del Rio. Then, once you believe it is adequately sourced, you can submit it for review. It might make sense to translate only pages that are themselves adequately referenced in the original language. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:20, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Justlettersandnumbers, not marked as a ref, but in external links, is this (zeno), - you click on Biographie and have the bio in table form, you click on Libretto and can read the complete book of Schubert's opera. - What do you miss? Just the formality to use it somehow as inline citation? If that's not enough, look at the German National Library entry, with 9 publications. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:00, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi, Gerda! Why is either of those a reliable source for the content of the article? The catalogue of the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek is a list of book titles with bibliographic information; zeno.org is apparently the website of a company called Contumax GmbH, apparently a small publishing house in Berlin. Neither of them supports the text. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:19, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Zeno is a database of literary texts, the listing of the library confirms these publications.

Wishes in March

... with thanks from QAI

I took a look at Ursula Wendt-Walther, another piece by an aficionado. For now - DYK - I commented out all these details from Nürnberg, please understand. Can return afterwards. The role in La Fenice is miniature, no need to mention, ever, sorry. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:27, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Approved already ;) - After I wrote Lydia Steier, I found that she has a French entry. Anything worth getting over to English. Directly to the article please, and nothing without a source, she's supposed to go to DYK fast ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:39, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you! Please write a translate attribution, and I can proofread only later today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:56, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

? on the talk, that the article or part of it was a translation from the French one ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:11, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

I looked now, took the French to translate to German, result complete nonsense. Critics' speech doesn't translate well. I rephrased one, and reworded the other. The German - what she said - is fine, just completely bland. (+ I hate "musicians and singers", as if singers were no musicians.) All not your fault, I just want to explain changes. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:31, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Éditions Durand, svp - Ravel's bday tomorrow --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:45, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you! - Here's more tricky: Sophie Clemenceau , also featured in Mahler's biography. Stub from scratch? , and this is her sister: Bertha Zuckerkandl. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:39, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Don't you worry about the notability of Sophie Clémenceau? Apart being associated with some others, who was she? I see a speedy deletion request coming miles away. LouisAlain (talk) 03:48, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

RIP Jacques Loussier, heard him three times. Any chance to get some of to his article which is undersourced. Bedtime for me. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:16, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Could you check again if there are things in the article that could use the FM as a ref? Then just copy, ref name="FM". Next wish: this looks like Arpino was outstanding, I made him a red link. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:08, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Your pace leaves me breathless! I've recently been asked for more articles about women. Here you are: Anne Rey, not entirely completed (refs and external links need to be added). As for Jacques Loussier, I noticed the link you gave was already inserted on his page. I'll see it asap. LouisAlain (talk) 17:23, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
Sadly, it's the pace at which people die. Thanks for Rey, looks fine, just these one-sentece paragraphs are not best style. There's now a Le Monde obituary for Loussier, - anything we don't have yet? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:59, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
Nothing in the 2 links (France Musique and Le Monde obituary) you gave that isn't already mentionned in the article. LouisAlain (talk) 04:08, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for checking! The best obit is in The Guardian, and that's in English ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:13, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
A new wish just came up: Cité internationale des arts --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:32, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
Nothing wrong with red links for DYK. But if you feel otherwise: three new ones on Muszely (only one has already an article, the other 2 would also deserve one. Nothing wrong ... --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:34, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Returning thread from oblivion. Thank you for Melitta Muszely, a particular gem in March, 35 images to enjoy, thanks to GRuban, - more on my talk, also musing about the hour of death. Today is the first day without a recent death among people I care about, but that will likely change before midnight. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:12, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

One doesn't know the day nor the hour. Musing about death is the sign of a true Schopenhauer follower. Do you want to know a secret? Death isn't a state of being, quite the opposite. To be or not to be is the ultimate answer. We're in the Being or we are not, whether before we come into it or leave it. Death doesn't exist. A Chinese peasant of 5,000 years ago or even Lucy is no more dead than Agnès Varda. LouisAlain (talk) 10:54, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. DYK that the DYK about the person, in 2011, was: ... that Dennis Russell Davies conducted the premiere of the Fifth Symphony Now and in the hour of death by Heinz Winbeck, which reflects Bruckner's Ninth Symphony? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:38, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

Practical wish: when Kutsch/Riemens is cited please take the time to find the page in the newest edition. Usually google should be enough: search for "Lastname, Firstname Kutsch". The go to some article which has the full citation, such as Ruthilde Boesch, copy and adjust page number (twice) and name. then use liberally as INLINE citation by name, - that's what your (insert word) want, repeating: INLINE. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:41, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

Hermann Gallos moved to draftspace

Well, let it rot where it belongs... LouisAlain (talk) 08:49, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi there, I am sorry you feel this way. To be honest, I don't like sending those articles to nirvana or whatever you want to call it, because there may be merit in them. However, I can only go by the guidelines and not by "perceived" notability. I DO believe there can be a bias in Misplaced Pages. There is a very good essay on systemic bias which I recommend reading. As a result, we see articles for some TV singing contest runner-ups easily pass notability and verifiability because there usually is quite a media buzz around them. When I click "reviewed" I know full well that there probably is a 75% chance no one will remember this individual in 2-3 years' time and there won't be much left other than a couple of mediocre songs what won't get played again and this article. At the same time, there are MANY individuals that are worthy an article, but there is just not much to go by in terms of readily available sources. Hence a systemic bias. For example, I watched an architecture documentary a while back and heard of Gerhard Weber. He did not have an English Misplaced Pages article, so I thought I'd use the German one as starting point. I knew the sources in the German article are insufficient to pass notability "over here". I spread the search over 2 days to find reliable sources to show "significant coverage" as GNG requires. Only then did I start writing the article in my sandbox and only once I added all refs I moved to article space. This is a process that always worked well for me, maybe it works for you too. Just a thought. pseudonym Jake Brockman 09:31, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Jake, I don't know why we get confusing messages about notability and lack of references. When an opera singer created a role in an important opera she or he is notable. Period. 99% probability that there's also a reference in the Kutsch/Riemens bible of singers. For the German Misplaced Pages, that's enough. - In this case on page 1623, not hard to find (Google helps, + they go by alphabet, just try page numbers in the url). So please add
<ref name="Kutsch/Riemens">{{cite book
| last = Kutsch
| first = K. J.
| authorlink = Karl-Josef Kutsch
| last2 = Riemens
| first2 = Leo
| authorlink2 = Leo Riemens

| title = Gallos, Hermann

It's Sunday, I have no time to add it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:10, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

Gerda, you state "When an opera singer created a role in an important opera she or he is notable. " While even this is dubious (depends on which role they created), the article on Herman Gallos doesn't list any roles he created... It isn't up to new page patrollers to check whether the article creator has forgotten to list the most notable facts about the subject. Fram (talk) 06:52, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
I said I had no time. I had no time to look at the article, but time enough to see where he was linked from when created: Ariadne auf Naxos, Scaramuccio, important role. "Clicking on "What links here?" should not be too difficult for a reviewer to check context. A person who wrote a libretto for Schubert is notable (see further up). - These articles are created to help readers to know more than just German. - Now, I have no time again, just checking my watchlist and out. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:24, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Carl Michalski moved to draftspace

LouisAlain, I'm rather assuming that you've seen enough of these notices recently. So when I today moved Botho von Hülsen, Christian Elsner, Bohumil Herlischka, Elisabeth Lindermeier, Kurt Honolka and Wolfgang Martin Schede to draft space, I did so without sending you a notice each time. I assume that they are anyway on your watchlist? Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:48, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Justlettersandnumbers, if I could do better, I would. I have my fun creating pages on Misplaced Pages where I consider myself a volonteer and not an employee. I don't doubt one second your good faith, you do what you think is appropriate to the situation. Just when I painstackingly try to enrich the project, some people choose to impowerish it. Once the articles are in the Draftpage container I leave them where they are for there's no possibility I could make them better than they were the first time. The only outcome I see of these moves is to contend myself with stubs. My salvation doesn't depend on my participation to Misplaced Pages. Yours, LouisAlain (talk) 07:34, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Justlettersandnumbers, I don't have much time for this, so just one example: many articles have a link to Kurt Honolka, and I strongly believe that an article on him - even if not perfect English and undersourced - serves our readers better than a red link with a fat red notice "was deleted" and a small green hint "is in draft space". He had a decent ill link, Kurt Honolka, but that is gone, and now readers don't even have access to the German, nor know that he IS notable in another language. Also, there seems to be no bot to disconnect in the other languages, so "English" is still shown, but with the above red/green unhelpful information. I'd love to see you change to one of two options: 1) just tag for whatever is missing in an article for a clearly notable subject with interlanguage link connection, or 2) if sending to draft, restore the ill-links. Honolka will be on DYK one of these days. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:08, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
LouisAlain, you say if I could do better, I would but User:Voceditenore explained to you a very simple, easy way to "do better" that you are perfectly capable of doing, and that is to keep these translations in draft space, or in your sandbox until they are properly referenced. Gerda will help you with that, so would Voceditenore if you would follow her advice. WP is not a place to "have fun" while ignoring the policies and guidelines that protect the encyclopedia. I don't think it is fair of us to keep challenging the New Page Patrol people, they are of course also volunteers and are following their guidelines that are there for good reasons. These machine translated articles that Louis produces in vast quantities in extreme haste contain some terrible mistakes, I haven't been drawing attention to them all as Gerda and Voceditenore thought I was being mean, but for instance the article Karl-Heinz Thiemann said he " took over the lodge in Das Rheingold" until I corrected it and Heinz Kruse contained the statement that " he dedicated himself to roles like...the box in Das Rheingold". Kruse and Thiemann played the roles of LOGE which if you just run it through a translation machine will translate "Loge" as "the lodge" or "the box", and then it gets posted on here like that and we say a singer played a box or took over a lodge in Das Rhinegold. I really think this is unacceptable and the only explanation I can fathom is that Louis does not read these translations through before posting them. I have checked hundreds of these articles for such errors but there are thousands of them and I don't have the time to go through them all and I wonder how many atrocious mistakes like that are now on WP for years or maybe forever. If Louis would only take everyone's advice, slow down and really learn to collaborate with us, his contributions would be very valuable but I don't feel it is acceptable for him to continue to ignore WP policies and guidelines on the basis that he is here to have fun, he isn't an employee and can't do any better.Smeat75 (talk) 11:33, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Smeat75, you've convinced me. I understand I'm not up to the En. Misplaced Pages expectations. For some reason unknown to me, Voceditenor has decided to no longer exchange with me. Probably another case of lost in translation. From now on I won't go any further than stubs like Leopold Ludwig unless you tell me this is also forbiden. When I ramble through this version of Wiki, I cannot but feel disturbed by the horrors I come through but apparently I am the single one entitled to the red carpet treatment for whatever article I now create. I do my best but why should I try to do even better when whatever the case, my translations go direct to the waste container?
Are you helping me understand I should limit myself to menial tasks such as adding caterories and links to existing articles thanks to http://edwardbetts.com/find_link ?
Even a stub like Melanie Diener was tagged as lacking notability and refs. whereas there are 5 refs on line, 3 external links and 11 entries in the Authority control. And you expect me to take this project seriously? Aow come on. And I thought Misplaced Pages was a collective participative encyclopedia. Such a fool I was.
Since I created over 3,000 pages before your attention was drawn upon me, you may be well advised to delete all the articles I translated without being seriously corrected, just for the sake of en. Misplaced Pages. Here they are But don't worry, It won't take long before I'm banned from this site. LouisAlain (talk) 12:40, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
LouisAlain, I removed that tag from Diener, but tell me, why don't you use the one good ref, Kutsch/Riemens, instead of several not-so-good ones. A superficially looking person looks at the first of those, tags and proceeds to the next, and I don't blame them. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:03, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
I didn't say obstinacy, and wouldn't. - I have a script which tells me when a cited biography is not called. When you have a bio from Neue Deutsche Biographie, as for Ludwig, you call it by {{sfn|authorname|year}}. If you have an opera singer, such as Diener, you ask Google for "Diener, Melanie Kutsch" (note last name first, because that's how the book has it), and you will likely find something giving you the page number. Then ... - see somewhere above. If you have no good ref you put the whole thing in a sandbox, User:LouisAlain/sandbox, which I can watch. The convenience of that approach is that I can influence when to move to article space, while today, I had to nominate Geszty, ready or not, last chance for a DYK which she really deserves. (Diener the same, and Honolka). All these great names! Thank you for adding, it's a shame they were missing so far! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:08, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Geszty is now equipped with some serious reviews. Sadly nothing about the pictured Cleopatra. Another step taken, Schachschneider tomorrow, but then I will need a few days for "my" music. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:32, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Two new ill-links there ... --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:33, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Are you helping me understand I should limit myself to menial tasks such as adding caterories and links to existing articles - No. I am asking you to do a very very simple thing, keep these translated articles in draftspace or in your sandbox until they are ready. We will help you as we have time. You don't need to wait to be banned. I cannot delete all your articles even if I wanted to, which I don't.Smeat75 (talk) 13:27, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Or if you want to create pages in mainspace, just add the references first. Once you've done that, you'll be able to see at once (a) whether the topic is in fact notable by our standards and (b) what information the sources actually provide. If the result of that is either (a) "no" or (b) "not much", you'll know not to waste your time and other people's by persisting with that topic. There is, by the way, nothing but your own obstinacy to prevent you from editing in draft space; my guess is that it's precisely because of that obstinacy that VdT withdrew her rather valuable support from your projects. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:20, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

As regards Voceditenor, little did I know this user was a she. Now that she's left me Ich fühle mich wie Der letzte Mann.

While I was blocked for one week last February, I took the opportunity to translate The Childhood of a Leader which was reviewed with a question relative to the notability of this work (not one iota modified in the page; again I question the seriousness of these reviews). Err... Had I let this translation in the Draft warehouse nobody would have noticed it. Now, see the history of this article and how enriched it has been by another (unregistered) user.

But you've convinced me, the more I create articles the heavier the load on other users and the more criticism I get. And also I participate to Misplaced Pages for the fun of it (read a violon d'Ingres ) and not to raise the level of knowledge of humankind. I consider it a past-time and not a chore. Now, it has become too complicated for my paltry mental abilities. God bless you if it is your motivation. So from now on I'll create only basic stubs and focus on menial tasks. That should cool the atmosphere but who knows? Sorry for having been such a burden to some other Wikipedians. LouisAlain (talk) 23:48, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Please strike that "all" in the last sentence. You are not a burden but an inspiration for me, I just can't keep up with your pace. Melanie Diener, Kurt Honolka, Sylvia Geszty, Trois Chansons (Ravel): great to have these articles, at various stages of development! I restrict myself to one article per day, so the time for Diener and Honolka will come, and for both I can choose, one to be expanded, the other to be freed from draft prison (where nobdy who could help will see it, sadly). Do me a favour: don't leave me alone, and keep creating. Perhaps for a while just restricted to people from Kutsch/Riemens, - there must be 16.000+ left without article. Another solid source is the Vienna State Opera's diligent archive, - not in her article yet. I wonder who the Paul Clemenceau is mentioned in the 3 Chansons, and no article even in French. Take a few wildflowers as thanks for a few articles you created, and please go look on my talk for the line: "go on with life, have a laugh, don't get too upset over this". (It helps me.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:17, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
How about translating fr:Maurice Pon? Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:04, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
Never heard his name before but his lyrics are known to all French people, particularly Le travail c'est la santé .
What's death? A transition to rest. - That - in German - is the header to another sad news, Ruth-Margret Pütz, and death not yet mentioned, but source on my talk. Could you start a translation? I'd polish, promised. Sandbox? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:46, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
As the source is perhaps not reliable, let's translate, and wait for something better until mentioning death on 1 April. She deserves an article anyway. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:49, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
in English --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:54, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
German, recent --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:57, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
And now Werner Bardenhewer died. Still no good source, but better than nothing. Can you please update his French article? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:00, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for Casapietra. There's a lot about her on Kutsch/Riemens (now online ref), but no ref for the child born in Genova + divorce stuff. Please find something or drop that, - I'm out for the day, Le nozze di Figaro ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:06, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
The divorce episode is of no importance anyway so I deleted it. As for his son, the German article (I know it's not a valid reference) mentions both his father and mother. LouisAlain (talk) 14:43, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
It's back, with source. Gutstein was on my todo for May because birthday is 15 May. He should go for DYK. Please give him inline citation, - I don't have time, sorry. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:59, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Erna Denera

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Erna Denera requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A loose necktie (talk) 09:06, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Please, do me a favor: delete, delete. And you have't seen Hermine Küchenmeister-Rudersdorf yet. LouisAlain 09:08, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
Just wait for Franz Naval. LouisAlain (talk) 10:45, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
LouisAlain, clearly this was a mistaken nomination for deletion – the initial version of the page already contained credible claims of significance. Nevertheless, although you have been repeatedly asked not to create mainspace articles without citations, you again did so here. Why will you not pay attention to what other editors have told you – have they not yet said it clearly enough, or often enough? Or do you actually want someone to take this to ANI and seek a topic-ban of some sort? Anyway, I'll ask you again: if you are not prepared to provide citations that enable readers and other editors to verify the content of pages you create, you should create them in draft space.
It occurs to me that you may not know how to add a citation. Here is one way: this is the (simple) code you need to add to cite the Großes Sängerlexikon:
<ref name=gs>Karl-Josef Kutsch, Leo Riemens, Hansjörg Rost (2003). , fourth edition (in German). München: K.G. Saur. {{isbn|3598115989}}.</ref>
You can place it either in the text or (more neatly) in the reference section, in which case you place either {{r|gs|page=1103}} or <ref name=gs />{{Rp|1103}} at the appropriate point in the text. It is really easy, but if you need help do please ask. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:12, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
Let me also offer an apology for my perhaps hasty application of a CSD tag to this article (and the other mentioned below). It seems it did not warrant it, and the only reason I placed it was because it seemed so patently obvious to me (which is already unfair) that the subject, as laid out, wasn't going to cut it as an article. That doesn't mean I was correct in doing so, only that I thought I was doing the correct thing, and I am learning myself here. I am grateful for other editors like Justlettersandnumbers and Gerda Arendt for pointing out my mistakes when they occur. Which this was. I am sorry for it and hope you will accept my apology. A loose necktie (talk) 01:28, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
Don't worry, A loose necktie, I don't doubt one second your good faith and know you did the move along the guidelines of Wiki which is just fine. I'm too prone to make so many mistakes myself that I won't throw stones to those who sometimes also do. Yours, LouisAlain (talk) 05:38, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hermine Küchenmeister-Rudersdorf

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hermine Küchenmeister-Rudersdorf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages.

• Justlettersandnumbers, you just showed me you don't read my answers to your queries. I tried the drafspace thing and all I got was that. Once again, I do not know how to create a Draftspace page. I'm sorry not to match your level of proficiency with htlm. Thanks for the help regarding how to create a link; I once made it on the fr. Wiki and it worked indeed. I'll keep your link <ref name=gs>Karl-Josef Kutsch, Leo Riemens, Hansjörg Rost (2003). , fourth edition (in German). München: K.G. Saur. {{isbn|3598115989}}.</ref> on my list of "how to". LouisAlain (talk) 16:28, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
I repeat: don't go to draft space but your sandbox (red link above), and a proper citation of Kutsch/Riemens is further up (in the Gallos thread, to be precise), including how to find a page. Sadly, all the recent ones are on pages not visible. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:53, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Accordion

Hi there, what is your source for this citation in your edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Petite_messe_solennelle&diff=721367620&oldid=712629890 – « which sometimes could be replaced by an accordion, according to the first idea of Rossini, but considered too "popular" for a religious framework at the time of the creation. » -- CdaMVvWgS (talk) 09:25, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Problem solved. LouisAlain (talk) 09:31, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! So there is no recorded evidence of this idea? Or what made you include this idea in the article? -- CdaMVvWgS (talk) 09:34, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
Please see the history of this article and ask the one who added this part. Thanks. LouisAlain (talk) 09:36, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
That's why I did (see link above), and according to the revision history it was you...? -- CdaMVvWgS (talk) 09:44, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
OK, if you say so it was me and I haven't the faintest idea why but I must have translated it from somewhere and didn't make it up. Now, what do you expect? Me begging for your pardon on bended knees? Once again I tell you: I don't know. Please, leave that issue behind, I've now wasted enough time on this. Don't you have anything more constructive to do on Misplaced Pages but stir the mud? LouisAlain (talk) 09:51, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
No offense intended! I was just wondering what your source might have been. If you would have remembered the source of your translation, it would have been a great help – if not, so be it. I am researching on this matter for quite a long time, and I was just curious about your edit at that time. At no point I have written any non-constructive comment, so I don't understand your reaction. I am not stirring the mud, I am questioning what I read, and that's important for Misplaced Pages to be a reliable source. However, I appreciate any help in this matter, and I respect you are not interested in helping me further. Let's stay fair. Thank you! -- CdaMVvWgS (talk) 10:03, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Hello, LouisAlain,

Thanks for creating Wolfgang Hirschmann! I edit here too, under the username Girth Summit and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Nice - I guess this is a translation from German Misplaced Pages? If you're familiar with the sources, it would be great if you were able to add some inline citations to make the connections between our assertions and the sources. Cheers

Théâtre de la Michodière

You have done a fabulous job translating the French site into English.

There is one problem.

You have mostly translated "Direction", when referring to the person running the theatre, as "Directed by" (sometimes you have left it as "Direction")

You have also, correctly, used "directed by" to translate "mise en scène".

"Direction", in the first instance, should definitely be something else, but I am not sure what. "Owner Manager" is the obvious solution but it sounds very clunky. Also, at present, it is not true, as the theatre is currently owned by vente-privee.com but managed by Caillat and Hillel.

Also: another thought. Would it be useful to add the English language title to plays that have been adapted into French, the Ray Cooney plays for example?

Fuhndhu (talk) 18:40, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for calling my attention to this old "article" It actually is a treasure trove for articles waiting to be translated from French. I'll start tomorrow when I have finished 2 other pages lacking references. LouisAlain (talk) 19:17, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
You were right to take the square brackets from John Tobias. I was taken in by this article: ::https://www.teatrulsicaalexandrescu.ro/fanteziile-sexuale-ale-sotului-meu-aproape-ca-m-au-innebunit/?lang=en
However, I have checked with the Samuel French web site, WILD DESIRES was published in 1980, when the video gamer Tobias was just 11 ! The previous play mentioned IS THE REAL YOU REALLY YOU? was published in 1977 !!

Joachim Draheim moved to draft

Hi. I moved Joachim Draheim to Draft:Joachim Draheim. The only reference you give is a webshop, which gives no infomation about the author, only listing some books he worked on. The article is translated from German, but the only source used there is an expired webdomain, which gives the impression that you haven't actually checked the claims made in the article. The external links are discogs (with one entry), and the DNB, which gives at least the most basic information. You have been asked multiple times to either take more care with the sourcing of your articles (certainly WP:BLPs), or to create them first in draftspace. Fram (talk) 08:50, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Elżbieta Szmytka moved to draftspace

Hello. I know you are expanding the article, but you have not edited in over an hour, and the article is a BLP without many sources and no inline citations. When you think it is ready, please feel free to move back to mainspace. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 15:19, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

  • Thanks for your help. Last time I was reprimended for the use of the <no wiki>in use</nowiki> template I learned 4 hours was the maximum admitted. Well now it's one hour. Just, I need my daily naps. Besides, the newly edited version doesn't have many more in line citations. Were it not for Gerda Arendt's thorough knowlege of all things related to music in general and opera in particular, this page would have rotten in the drafspace hell forever.LouisAlain (talk) 18:11, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
You have been asked dozens of times to be careful with your creations, many different editors have asked you to create your articles in draftspace or your sandbox and move them when they are ready. Why are you not taking this advice? Boleyn (talk) 15:49, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
I have already answered this question (which shows you don't read my replies): Here we go again: I-DO-NOT-KNOW-HOW-TO-CREATE-A-DRAFSPACE! Besides, if I published the article it is because I thought it was already satisfying all Misplaced Pages criteria for publication and it could wait some hours before I found some refs. Were you so impatient to learn more about this Polish soprano? Also I hesitate to translate articles fear of them being deleted because there was a copyvio of a German (or Polish in this case) original piece. What's the use of the <no wiki>in use</nowiki> <no wiki>under construction</nowiki> templates anyway when perfection and excellency are expected with every new article? LouisAlain (talk) 18:11, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
LouisAlain, the answer to all questions is not 42, but 1: there has to be more than zero INLINE CITATIONS in a BLP (biography of living persons). Simple and stupid. Reviewers don't have to read, nor understand context, - they only have to look: inline citation yes or no, and no kills it. Tricky case, this one, with the diacritics, because it's not so easy to find things related to her. But I will, promised. We can't ask the original writer, because he's banned, thanks to our loving community. A great opera lover, I miss him. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:31, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
If you want to know how to create in draftspace, you do the same as when you want to learn anything on Misplaced Pages, you 1) Google it - you'd have quickly got the answer or 2) got to the search box and then type in WP: or WIkipedia: and then the word you're interested in learning more about - so WP:Drafts. You may well think they are good enough for publication but when you have been told hundreds of times that they are not, you need to listen. You can create in draftspace then submit via WP:AFC, and it would take you seconds longer and there would be no complaints about this. Will you do this for all future submissions? It would make it far better for everyone. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 05:52, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Ursula Kramer

Notice

The article Ursula Kramer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication WP:PROF has been met. No indication for WP:GNG. Thesis and unpublished works aside, author of 2 publications and co-author or editor of 11 more (according to German National Library entry). Sources do not indicate notability of those publications or impact on their field as per WP:NACADEMIC, specifically #4.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. pseudonym Jake Brockman 07:58, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

It certainly deserves deletion since there are only 4 articles which link to the page and 7 entries in the Authority Control thingie. Thanks for the information. LouisAlain (talk) 08:06, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
"Redlinks" don't make a topic inherently notable. It's an indication to possibly consider an article - should this then meet notability criteria. As far as I can see, those links were created in connection with the new article and they are because Kramer wrote about the subject. This does not necessarily make an article notable. Authority control is really just a tool to help "connect the dots" between library entries - which is common for authors of published works. Again, an indication to consider notability, but it does not not have inherent notability. pseudonym Jake Brockman 08:16, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
I'm not here to contest suggestions by more experienced Wikipedians so do as you think is the best. Besides (and I hope it is not too violent in English: I don't care a monkey about the future of the articles I translate). Yours, LouisAlain (talk) 08:22, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
That topic is notable, but I'll have no time untile tomorrow late afternoon, and then I'll have morre urgent things to do for hours. Sigh. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:35, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
She is an author of our reliable sources. We just had the (insert word of disbelief) discussion for Gertrud Schiller, - same thing. Lets not tell out readers who writes ... - sarcasm intended. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:38, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
I can see how Schiller is different. If apparently she has created works that are considered "standard reference work" in the field of study, that passes PROF. I did not see similar statements for Kramer. Being an author whose work is used as citation in articles of notable topics does not make that author notable as well. This would be creating a notability loop. pseudonym Jake Brockman 11:22, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
feel free to use, I have no time. Looks like she writes exellent things that get cited. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:18, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Every university professor writes things that get cited. That's essentially part of the "job" and not inherently notable. PROF states this clearly. "Excellence" will need to be independently verified, e.g. in reviews OF her works or through "highly cited" work. pseudonym Jake Brockman 07:47, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Mainz University website describes Kramer as an außerplanmäßige Professorin, which according to Academic ranks in Germany is not equivalent to having a chair, perhaps article is too soon.TSventon (talk) 09:49, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps my thinking is too simple: if the English Misplaced Pages cites her, that Misplaced Pages could also tell readers who she is and where she teaches, - not leaving it to the Germans, and having a rather ugly red link (ill). I does not hurt to have a list of what else she wrote, imho. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:58, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
She is dedicated to Christoph Graupner (the one whom Leipzig wanted, not Bach, but Graupner wasn't free), president of the association for his work, cited as an authority in English books, example . If Misplaced Pages wants articles about worms but not about such people, something seems wrong, Jake. Michael, what do you think? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:20, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
I agree with Gerda's sentiment about the need for an article on a musicologist who is widely cited on her specialist subject. I'm aware of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, but e.g. many journalists have articles, and I think deservedly, and their only claim to fame is that they write for highly respected newspapers and would technically fail Misplaced Pages's notability requirements. An encyclopedia ought to offer its readers easy access to their articles where they can get their biographical details (place & date of birth, death) and a description of their work and career. I think the WP:PROD at Kramer's article should be removed and it be left to others to take it to WP:AFD. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:23, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

The problem there, Michael Bednarek, is that she isn't widely cited: I had to go to page 18 of this search to find an article by her (unless of course she writes on the effects of air pollution on children in her spare time?); that Archiv fur Musikwissenschaft article has been cited 6 times. The other Ursula Kramer really is widely cited on her specialist subject, and easily meets that criterion of WP:NPROF. Anyway, anyone can de-prod the article at any time; the page might survive an AfD on the basis that her Theater mit Musik is held in 151 libraries – except that she didn't write that book, merely edited it. There's a brief review here. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:16, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

So? Why not leave that article for the selected few who want to know about her and not read it in German? No harm that I can see? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:18, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: The way I look at it, we should hold ourselves to higher standards when it comes to articles about people, companies, products, etc. There is no harm done per se, but many people (and search engines) regard a Misplaced Pages article as a kind of "award" in itself. Notability and verifiability rules are there to provide a level playing field. Granted, there may be outliers, but we try our best... I am strongly opposed to keeping any article for sake of "convenience" if it clearly does not meet relevant guidelines - especially when it's about living people, companies, etc. Academia can be extremely competitive and of course there's the constant need to obtain research grants, etc. In an imperfect world, having a Misplaced Pages article may unduly influence decision makers elsewhere for said reasons. Just to avoid doubt, I do not think you are involved in COI editing. Absolutely not!! But there's the bigger picture to consider. Picking up your previous point about articles about worms - they live a much simpler life :) pseudonym Jake Brockman 08:05, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
I think this woman (of whom I admittedly have never heard before she was mentioned here) is high standard. I never mentioned convenience, but believe we should inform readers about who writes sources, if we know. I know nothing about academic competion and thinking a wikipedia article is an award. Aren't we here for free unlimited information? I am. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:19, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
I hesitate to deprod it because I was involved in the writing. Anybody? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:19, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, we have set our own standard for academics, and this one doesn't seem to meet it. The harm in ignoring our own guidelines is that for every minor academic there are ten thousand non-notable rappers, youtubers, "motivational" speakers, company executives, bit-part actors and fringe medicine practitioners who would just love to be able to use Misplaced Pages to promote themselves with some "free unlimited information". If anything, we should be raising the bar, not talking about lowering it. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:56, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
Justlettersandnumbers, please return to the question further up: you delete this article, the readers will - as before - have to read about her in German. Really? - It's no problem for me, but others will have to use a translation program. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:03, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
  • May I chime in and draw attention to the fact that this author is mentionned in about a dozen "WikiProject Women" lists? What's the point of these lists which call for translations or creations if the notability of the people is questionned every now and then? LouisAlain (talk) 23:18, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Anja Augustin moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Anja Augustin, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Misplaced Pages). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Misplaced Pages's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Great! I think German for article name is fine, the other for redirect. If someone wants to move, I won't fight. Unwish: did you see that Rolf Riehm is on my to-do-list? I wish you had made it short, for me to decide when to expand, for his June 15 birthday. OK, will do, shift others to later. Nice man, met him last year. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:51, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
Maybe is Rolf Riehm a DYK in the waiting? Delete what you see fit, you know better than me anyway. It will be an opportunity to translate Wolfgang Stryi. As for Étienne Perruchon, it's a rather meager page (I mean not much information worth mentionning on this Wiki). Never heard of him before. LouisAlain (talk) 16:33, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
No DYK yet, just a red link on my user page, saying bday 15 June (red until you blued it, and then I moved it up). Thank goodness that birthday is soon, so it will still work (they don't hold longer than 6 weeks), but I'm now forced to expand within six days, while if it was short - 300 chars - I could expand when it pleases me. - The composer just died, so interest is high. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:03, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
Rather than expand the page which I guess asks for some work (research etc.) you could shorten it (there is already a masked passage because it lacks references). LouisAlain (talk) 05:15, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
I don't like to be told what to do ;) - I will expand and source. Erik Werba was the perfect size to make a start. Five-times expansion just brought him to the minimum length for a DYK. Will still expand, but it's comfortable to be safe. To expand the present Riehm five times would be hard work, and shortening wouldn't help, - the calculator would still count the long version. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:21, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Different kind of wish: please don't change my talk archive. There are things one should ignore ignore ignore, - well, I failed, but no need to add to that failure ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:09, 27 May 2019 (UTC)

Normal wish: expand Andrea Marcon with more from fr - he played and conducted tonight! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:39, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Uwe Pfeifer

- MrClog, I precisely shortened the German version for this lack of references. Other than that there are 7 entries in the Authority control (which I suppose are reliable sources) and some links to articles on this Misplaced Pages (notably the Handel Music Prize). Do as you see fit, I'm bad at finding references. I've added two though and two portals, no one seems to ever care about. Yours, LouisAlain (talk) 22:58, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

LouisAlain, why did you not create this in draftspace and submit via WP:AFC, as previously advised many times and explained to you how to do? Boleyn (talk) 17:38, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

- Boleyn, I now firmly believe you have a crush on me. You lead me again to repeat: I-do-not-know-how-to-create-a-drafspace and even if I knew, I fail to see how my level of English would improve and how I would find references that I didn't find in the first place. Moreover, why do you expect excellency at the first shot whereas an overwhelming majority of articles are built over several days or weeks? Notwithstanding the later additions years later?

- Not two days ago I asked Fram to delete an article I foolishly created 6 months ago (last paragraph of his TP). We all know Fram means business when it comes to references and yet, not only didn't he delete said page but added a reference when I added another one. No need for a draftpage, it was bad from day one (my fault). Don't know how he found out for Paul Delisse though. Must have special tools. LouisAlain (talk) 22:58, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Did you not see my explanation of how to create drafts at User talk:LouisAlain#Elżbieta Szmytka moved to draftspace? If you do that, then Gerda or a member of the AFC team could help you. No one is looking for excellency, just competency - and you have been told, over 100 times by different editors, that you are creating masses of articles that do not meet the threshold. Why aren't you stopping and submitting via WP:AFC? Boleyn (talk) 07:40, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
Leave me alone, I just want to be left alone (Greta Garbo) LouisAlain (talk) 11:44, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
Communication is expected on Misplaced Pages. If you dislike people questioning your creations, you need to use WP:AFC or work on a different area of Misplaced Pages apart from article creation, where you have been told - literally hundreds of times - that there are issues with your creations and they are causing issues for other editors. I'll ask you once again to stop creating articles unless it is through draftspace/AFC. This should have gone to WP:ANI a long time ago, but I was really hoping that communication could work and you would listen to other editors. Please do so. Boleyn (talk) 18:56, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
I don't dislike people questioning my creations in the first place. Communication is expected on Misplaced Pages (Boleyn). And it is this same Boleyn who discreetly intervened so that I lost my patrolright without me being informed! Hundreds of translations have passed the test whith most of them not being corrected one iota. This autopatrol right were granted without me knowing what it meant so I suppose the sysop who made the move in the first place had nothing to object to my 50 first creations which already raised questions (I assume good faith from h/h part). See Mary Marquet which was my third article. And yet I was a complete beginner on en:Wiki.
Boleyn is teaching me lessons in communication whereas she never takes into account my answers like this one for example:
I fail to see how my level of English would improve and how I would find references that I didn't find in the first place (with some magic involved perhaps?). Now, what's wrong with Eckehard Mayer which was published without your authorisation? Following your guideline would lead to articles published as a block with nothing to add or substract. It also reeks of a desire to make me toe your line an publish with your imprimatur. I dare to object. There must exist dozens of thousands of wikipedians deserving your attention Boleyn. Why don't you turn your eyes to them? Now I've just wasted nearly one hour answering to you. Not really productive for the project. So do you or don't you delete Uwe Pfeifer? Yours, LouisAlain (talk) 02:03, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
LouisAlain, you shouldn't copy information onto Misplaced Pages if you don't know its source - it's as simple as that. I am also not involved in WP:AFC, so using it would not be trying to gain my permission for an article, but would mean serious issues were picked up easily, quickly and there would be help available . Some of your creations are OK, but as you are aware from the many, many messages, there are lots of issues with them, namely that you have created many without references, or not knowing where the information actually came from. I don't see a serious issue with your level of English, which I would say is excellent usually. I am sorry that I did not inform you of a discussion I started elsewhere on autopatrol rights which did mention you. I was asking for someone else to look it over, as you clearly weren't going to listen to me and were just sure you were right, despite hundreds of messages of concern from different editors, all of which you responded to defensively without showing signs that you were listening and working with others on the serious concerns raised. I ddi not expect your autopatrol right to be taken after that discussion, although I agree with the admin who did so. Will you please consider compromising and using AFC, so you don't have these messages, from many editors, and there can be help with referencing and language? Boleyn (talk) 09:17, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Let's forget Greta Garbo for a while Boleyn. I perfectly understand the need for as many inline references as possible. Just there are sometimes no references available or I simply can't find them, I'm bad at these researches, it's a fact. Misplaced Pages pretending to be a collective encyclopedia, I expect some other Wikipedians to be able to fill in the void I leave behind. One week ago I created a page through my TP to follow your advice (I've already forgotten which it was) only to replicate it without a single change on the main space. It's not that I wasted my times since I always try my best when I start a translation. And even if it takes two or three times to "complete" an article, why bother?
  • Today I translated Étienne Perruchon after a commission from Gerda Arendt. There were already 4 references on the fr. Wiki (2 of them were dead links) but I could find two others. I omitted a large part of his list of creations, I didn't feel like searching for hours references for each of them which anyway I probably wouldn't have been able to find.
  • Today I also translated Heinz Röttger, leaving most of the main body of text untranslated for lack of references. Maybe was it also a copyvio case. The same goes with the list of his works. Did he really wrote a piano concerto in 1951? Or an opera after The Marriage Proposal by Chekhov?
  • 10 days ago I translated Silke Leopold which apparently didn't go through the review process. I have no certitude at all that all information about her is true and verifiable. Did she attend such and such school as a child and anyway, who cares?
  • Three years ago, I was told that every statement on Wiki should be bolstered with an inline references. I do not object and understand that but it is practically impossible and it leads to the cartesian doubt (I'm French as you know). What can I be sure of?
  • Boleyn, rest assured I do my best when I translate but I'm also puzzled by interventions of other Wikipedians who correct me before other Wikipedians undo the previous changes. Ach du lieber Gott, Was soll ich tun?. LouisAlain (talk) 13:56, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
May I speak once more? These articles (a minority of a great number) are no creation, but translation, - when you translate something which comes without inline citation, you write something without inline citation. When from Germany, it has often book sources named Literature. LouisAlain has listned to me and worked with me for seven years. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:57, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Fanny Altenburger

You have created an article today, Fanny Altenburger, parts of which are not likely to convey useful information to an English reader. Since 2011 Altenburger has regularly participated in the Festspiele Reichenau and stood there in 2011 as Mohr in the Rosenkavalier after Hugo von Hofmannsthal. She "stood there?" What? Do you mean she played a part? There is no role, "Mohr" in the opera Der Rosenkavalier, if that is what you are talking about, hard to know as it is stated to be "after" Hugo von Hofmannsthal, no it isn't "after" him, he wrote the libretto. In English if you say a work is "after" something it means it is adapted from it. How could this actress play a part in an opera anyway if she isn't a singer. Was it one of the silent roles? Who knows? Then it says she appeared in a play called " Die Stützen der Gesellschaft" by Ibsen but he never wrote any play called that. Then we have a sentence part in German, part English 2016 stand sie für die Dreharbeiten zu dem Kinofilm Wir töten Stella by Julian Pölsler. 2018 machte sie die Matura and had a role as Anna in Die letzte Party deines Lebens . What, what, what? Do you even read these articles you create before publishing them? This is terrible, I try to correct the articles you create related to opera but you create so many and in different areas it is impossible to check them all. Can you make any sense of that article User:Gerda Arendt? I have tagged the article for a complete re-write, I try to correct these articles as I can but this one is out of my capabilities.Smeat75 (talk) 17:29, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

Ibsen never wrote any play called that. Really?

Do I need to add something?

LouisAlain (talk) 03:41, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Ibsen wrote a play called "Samfundets støtter", known in English as "The Pillars of Society". You should have linked the German translation to the English title. Never mind though Gerda fixed it.Smeat75 (talk) 09:55, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Ulrich Tadday

Hello, LouisAlain,

Welcome to Misplaced Pages! I edit here too, under the username Slatersteven and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Ulrich Tadday should be deleted. Your comments are welcome over Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Ulrich Tadday .

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

rather moot as Fram found that it was a copyright violation. Please create again in your words. Another source was . --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:38, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Siegfried Voß moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Siegfried Voß, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. First wish: can you help saying that Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles is a strage title? The infobox has it right. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:36, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

According to their website it is all capitalised. The title may have changed throuth the centuries though. LouisAlain (talk) 03:30, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, we should probably fix the article then. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:34, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Lothar Erdmann

Greetings and kudos for the creation of Lothar Erdmann. It's a great start. I changed "NS" in a section title to "Nazi." Please trust and believe me—this is standard terminology in English, much more easily recognizable to us English speakers and readers than "NS." I'm curious if that's standard terminology/acronym in French? Thanks again for the article. Regards Tapered (talk) 01:57, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
