'''St Modan's RC High School''' is an S1-S6 ] ] in ], ]. The schools roll currently stands at over 800 pupils, who travel from areas outwith the usual catchment areas, however as it is a Catholic school, it is exempt from usual boundaries. Pupils travel from the ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], Braehead and Riverside areas. The school has a locally famous music department in Scotland, with the choir being invited to sing at various government locations in the ] in 2004. In the music department pupils who get instrumental lessons also get the chance to play in the school swing band and orchestra. Unfortunately, the orchestra very rarely rehearses these days and the mixed choir has fallen away with the result that St Modans no longer has the spectacular music recitals of past years. Despite over £3000 being spent on buying the rights to perform West Side Story, no public performance took place.

The school day has also changed implementing an experimental "Period 7" (As opposed to the usual 6 in Scottish high schools) which was supposed to take place 3 days a wee. All pupils S1-4 are forced to participate in a range of timetabled creative and physical activities in art, sport and music. These are optional to S5/6 but as there is no public transport, pupils have to either stay at school doing nothing for an extra hour and 20 minutes, or pay for their own transport home. Pupils choose their Period 7 options from a long list of exciting options such as gardening and cookery.
Unfortunately the school does not have its own swimming pool, and although pupils and parents alike were promised that use of The Peak's facilities would be possible, this promise has never come to fruition - as have many.
This Period 7 was operated under the School of Ambition programme, promoted and financed by the Scottish Government. It only ever operated on one day a week and was only compulsory for S1 to S4. The programme is coming to an end at the end of the 2010/2011 session.

The Headteacher of the school from 1997, Frank Lennon OBE, moved to Dunblane High School in June 2010 along with Depute Headteacher, Margo Wilkinson. In February 2011 it was announced that they would not be returning to St.Modan's, but would be remaining at Dunblane. The reason for this was given as " a combination of circumstances". This concatenation, seems to revolve around a number of themes: Financial; Recruitment Policy; Abandonment of Values; The newly appointed Headteacher is one Mr Raymond O'Neill.

St Modan's Roman Catholic High School is an S1-S6 Catholic high school in Stirling, Scotland.
History
In September 1933, St Modan's High School was officially opened by Archbishop McDonald of St Andrew's and Edinburgh. It was located in Barnsdale Road, St Ninians, Stirling. It was one of the first catholic schools to be built in Scotland. When it first opened, it incorporated 410 pupils and grew to its maximum potential of 1200 pupils when the school leaving age was raised to 16 in 1972.
In 2008 St. Modan's High School moved to a new site as part of Stirling Councils £10 million Public Private Partnership regeneration of schools. The new site was originally planned for a field adjacent to Bannockburn High School however due to Historic Scotland objections the new site was announced as being in Springkerse Retail Park in Stirling directly opposite the Holiday Inn Hotel. This effectively meant that all children now have to be "bussed" to the new school. The school is also next door to Forthbank Stadium home of Scottish Football League Second Division side Stirling Albion which gives the school some access to new sporting activities for pupils.
Academics
In its 2009 inspection report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education, St Modan's was awarded an "Excellent" rating (Sector leading) for both the Curriculum and Meeting Learner's Needs, and "Very Good" ratings for all other aspects of delivery. At that time the report indicated "in almost all key measures of attainment, results are consistently better than they are in schools which serve young people with similar needs and backgrounds" and also that "young people’s behaviour is exemplary and they show care and concern for each other".
Headteacher
Claire Friel is the current headteacher, she is the daughter of the late Charlie Gallagher who was a part of the famous 1967 Celtic Lisbon Lions squad.
