The ''']''', a key part of what later became known as the ], took place during the ] (1919–21). The battle occurred near the town of ], some {{convert|20|km|mi}} north-east of ], between August 13 and 16, 1920. The first phase began with a frontal assault by the ] on the ] bridgehead. The Soviet forces captured Radzymin on August 14 and breached the lines of the ], which was defending Warsaw from the east. Radzymin changed hands several times in heavy fighting. The Russians wanted to break through the Polish defences to Warsaw, while the Polish aim was to defend the area long enough for a two-pronged counteroffensive to outflank the attacking forces. After three days of intense fighting, the ]-sized 1st Polish Army under General ] managed to repel a direct assault by six Red Army rifle ]s at Radzymin and Ossów. The struggle for control of Radzymin forced General ], commander of the ], to start the 5th Army's counterattack earlier than planned. Radzymin was recaptured on August 15, and this victory proved to be one of the turning points of the battle of Warsaw.

See the discussion on the templates' talk pages, in particular ]. In a nutshell, both templates clearly serve no useful Misplaced Pages-related purpose. They are both about advocating causes which are external to Misplaced Pages and which no amount of editing on Misplaced Pages can bring about. The nature of the external conflict also means that the templates can easily become nothing more than flame bait, as demonstrated by the recent edit war. If someone wants to air their opinion about the situation in Chechnya, they can do so on their own blog or website. Misplaced Pages is ] a soapbox. We're all far better off without those templates. --] <small>]</small> 21:22, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Certainly the symbols that call for partitioning, or let me put it softer, "violating the territorial integrity" of this or that country fall under the both "polemical" and "disruptive" categories. At the same time, I thought that I won't interfere if you want to keep the content that is likely to be seen inflammatory by some of your other fellow editors. You, however, are wrong to complain that people get annoyed by that. This is exactly the reaction you should have expected. At the same time, I disagree with the template deletion anyway because it is useless as it can be, if not recreated, then replicated at the userpage. Just like it was done by ] when his template was deleted, he just pasted its content to the user page directly. Not that there is anything wrong with wishing Chechens well. It's just that there are less controversial ways and places to do it. What one thinks is a call for freedom, others have reasons to think is a call for partition. Think of it this way: What was the OUN's pre-war mission in the Western Ukraine? BTW, they also called it a freedom fight and, besides, in a way they were right. For Poles, however, that was a call for dismemberment. It is just an example how people can see things differently, or at least insensitive, depending on the background. Whether Jimbo will consider taking actions against users who do that is up to him. IMO, removing such stuff is a good idea anyway since it just makes people's working together more difficult. Having said that, give another thought to your user page content if see what I say as ''possibly'' reasonable. --] 04:09, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

:Thank you for bringing to my attention the Filaret's, Chernivtsi and Verkhovna Rada articles being unreferenced. I was surprised to see your interest in Filaret and other relatively obscure Ukrainian topics is so big that you are worried about his articles to a degree that you put a template calling to make them better. I am sure that you got to it not by stalking me or looking for the articles I wrote in order to somehow "retaliate" for the unrelated article's disputes but because you are genuinely interested in improving of the coverage of this notable church hierarch, notable building by Zabolotny (a great building by a great architect BTW) and an educational institutions in western Ukraine that was Austrian, Romanian and Ukrainian (but never Polish). I hoped to call you all to reason at ] abouth the ethics of such frivolous tagging but apparently, I failed to convince you yet. Any article can be disrupted by frivolous cite calls and any number of tags can be added to any article. With the number of unsourced articles you wrote and unsourced claims you made are you now going to put your editing aside and start referencing every claim you made in the articles to this day? If so, it is only fare from you to demand others to do the same. If not, please give it a thought one more time. ''A nationalist is one who thinks solely, or mainly, in terms of competitive prestige. He may be a positive or a negative nationalist -- that is, he may use his mental energy either in boosting or in denigrating -- but at any rate his thoughts always turn on victories, defeats, triumphs and humiliations. He sees history, especially contemporary history, as the endless rise and decline of great power units, and every event that happens seems to him a demonstration that his own side is on the upgrade and some hated rival is on the downgrade. But finally, it is important not to confuse nationalism with mere worship of success. The nationalist does not go on the principle of simply ganging up with the strongest side. On the contrary, having picked his side, he persuades himself that it is the strongest, and is able to stick to his belief even when the facts are overwhelmingly against him. Nationalism is power-hunger tempered by self-deception. Every nationalist is capable of the most flagrant dishonesty, but he is also -- since he is conscious of serving something bigger than himself -- unshakeably certain of being in the right.''
== ''The Bugle'': Issue LXXXVII, June 2013 ==
Some traits of a nationalist:
{| style="width: 100%;"
''OBSESSION. As nearly as possible, no nationalist ever thinks, talks, or writes about anything except the superiority of his own power unit. It is difficult if not impossible for any nationalist to conceal his allegiance. The smallest slur upon his own unit, or any implied praise of a rival organization, fills him with uneasiness which he can relieve only by making some sharp retort. If the chosen unit is an actual country, such as Ireland or India, he will generally claim superiority for it not only in military power and political virtue, but in art, literature, sport, structure of the language, the physical beauty of the inhabitants, and perhaps even in climate, scenery and cooking. He will show great sensitiveness about such things as the correct display of flags, relative size of headlines and the order in which different countries are named. Nomenclature plays a very important part in nationalist thought. ''

''Every nationalist is haunted by the belief that the past can be altered. He spends part of his time in a fantasy world in which things happen as they should -- in which, for example, the Spanish Armada was a success or the Russian Revolution was crushed in 1918 -- and he will transfer fragments of this world to the history books whenever possible. Much of the propagandist writing of our time amounts to plain forgery. Material facts are suppressed, dates altered, quotations removed from their context and doctored so as to change their meaning. Events which it is felt ought not to have happened are left unmentioned and ultimately denied. In 1927 Chiang Kai Shek boiled hundreds of Communists alive, and yet within ten years he had become one of the heroes of the Left. The re-alignment of world politics had brought him into the anti-Fascist camp, and so it was felt that the boiling of the Communists "didn't count", or perhaps had not happened. The primary aim of progaganda is, of course, to influence contemporary opinion, but those who rewrite history do probably believe with part of their minds that they are actually thrusting facts into the past. When one considers the elaborate forgeries that have been committed in order to show that Trotsky did not play a valuable part in the Russian civil war, it is difficult to feel that the people responsible are merely lying. More probably they feel that their own version was what happened in the sight of God, and that one is justified in rearranging the records accordingly.''

I have seen your boxes at the discussion page and I can see what you mean. I have simply written a text on my page and so far no one has vandlised it, but it can be just a matter of time. So far I do not know what to do - write to Jimbo Wales asking him to explain the rules of policy on userboxes or leaving this as it is and waiting for the time Great Russian Patriots and their sympathisers have their examination session. I'm not sure if you know that I live in Chicago, and have an enormous opportunity to speak Polish in my associations at work, shopping, and elsewhere. Thanks to the Jagiellonian University, I feel that I speak Polish fairly fluently, and I wish I could write better. As an American without Polish roots, I am proud of my associations with Poland and Polish culture. My travels in Poland, chiefly by automobile, took me from Jelenia Gora to Bialystok, and from Szeczecin to Krosno, and lots of places in between these points too. Frankly I'm not aware of any other form of address other than Pan or Pani, as the only time I ever saw comrade was on PPZR posters, and "Wy", when there were more than one persons involved. I was recently talking with some patients at the hospital, who are new immigrants from Poland, and asked them if anything has changed, causing the forms Pan and Pani to be discarded. They assured me that this is not the case. Is there some "movement" trying to do away with them? ] 16:51, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi Halibutt, | |||
== Award == | |||
Excellent to see more polish aircraft articles, but there seem to be some issues with these two:
#The subject matter hardly warrants such detailed articles
#A single article to cover both would be sufficient as they were VERY closely related and differed mainly in size and engine arrangements, i.e. merge them.
#A variants section to explain the differences between the BN3, and T variants.
#Try to use your own prose instead of parrotting references.
#Avoid adding superfluous details, such as the various competing aircraft which should only get fleeting mentions at best.
Just some suggestions, but if you look at the articles again objectively you may see my points.

Here's Kuban coSSack's comment about this police action and break-up of a peaceful protest, which took place at 3AM so that there would be no witnesses of their activity:
Dr. Eduard Krebsbach | |||
* http://www.br23.net/en/2006/03/24/game-over/#comments
Between October 1941 and Autumn 1943, he was Chief-Physician of the SS and the Police at Linz, Steyr, Wels and KZ Mauthausen-Gusen. He was the first to start mass-execution of ill and unfit prisoners by heart-injections. So he was nicknamed "Dr. Spritzbach" (Injection-Doctor) in the camps. In January 1942, 732 Spanish inmates and 571 Soviet inmates were exterminated by heart-injections at KZ Gusen Concentration Camp. In general, heart-injections were given at KZ Gusen Camp two times a week until April 1945. The career of Dr. Krebsbach ended at KZ Mauthausen-Gusen when he shot Josef Breitenfellner, a young man from Langenstein-Village who served in the German Army at that time and was home for vacation. Krebsbach shot this German soldier May 22, 1943, on vacation from his private house because he was disturbed by Breitenfellner and his friends. Due to this crime, Dr. Krebsbach was moved from KZ Mauthausen-Gusen to KZ Warwara where he led the selections along with the liquidation of that camp in August 1944. Later, he worked as the Inspector for Epidemies in the occupied countries of Lettland, Estland and Lithuania. The following SS-Doctors refused to give heart-injections at KZ Gusen:

Hi! I am of two minds about the Vorkuta image caption. In that particular context the Soviet slogan is indeed very similar to German's. It still feels uneasy, because that exact same slogan and many others similar to it were installed in many Soviet locations, not just in the forced labor camps. German slogan, on the other hand, was primarily used for concentration camps. Soviet was more generic. While the caption in its present form is somewhat valid, it may lead to wrong conclusions. Anyway, I'll leave the caption alone for now, but will try to think of a better way to re-write it to make it less ambiguous.—] 15:37, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

The available Mauthausen inmate statistics from the spring of 1943 show 2,400 prisoners below the age of 20, 12.8 percent of the 18,655 inmate population.
(For our concern, the cut-off age of 20 is too high; however, it does give some indications about the number of juveniles present.) By late March 1945, the number of juvenile prisoners in Mauthausen increased to 15,048, 19.1 percent of the 78,547 Mauthausen inmates.
The number of incarcerated children increased 6.2 times, whereas the total number of prisoners in the same period multiplied by a factor of only four.20 These numbers reflect the increasing use of Polish, Czech, Russian, and Balkan teenagers as slave labour as the war continued. Statistics showing the composition of the juvenile inmates shortly before liberation reveal the following major child prisoner subgroups: 5,809 foreign civilian labourers; 5,055 political prisoners; 3,654 Jews; and 330 Russian POWs. There were also 23 gypsy children, 20 a-socials, 6 Spaniards, and 3 Jehovah's Witnesses.21 Mauthausen's children are probably representative for the composition of child prisoners in the camps after 1940.

What you're working on has a couple problems. By changing the parameter names, you make all existing references to {{]}} incompatible with your infobox. Also, the style you're using isn't the accepted infobox look - seen at {{tl|Infobox Company}} and other mainstream examples.

As I mentioned at ], it would make a lot more sense to create a summary-type infobox like that used in most articles. Some users actually hide infoboxes via css, so using one for aircraft specs will leave giant portions of the article missing. There are some other issues, which {{user|Ingoolemo}} and I have raised at the project talk page as well. Look, I think you'd find the going a lot easier if you agreed to work on a summary infobox rather than a specifications one. I personally would not place it in articles, but I would also not have a problem with its creation and use. :Here's the thing - not all aircraft use metric units as their primary unit - specifying which comes first tells the reader which is the primary unit. That's important in terms of accuracy and as a reference. Also, if you start a stub with your infobox and it later is large enough to allow a conversion to the WP:Air system, then a simple copy/paste will allow an editor to swap the infobox from a full details+specs layout to a brief summary, with specs at the end. ] ] 02:06, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

I just thought to review the article:
# The lead is too short. It should be at least twice the length.
# Please add a location map, and a scheme of the camps (I know you are a map maker)
# The article desperately needs some sort of table or scheme or timeline or something of the sub-camps. It is darn confusing to navigate through them: the intro says 50, later in the article I find number 101, and then another article, list of sub-camps, lists about 70.
# Points need to separate. For example, don’t talk about arrival of new prisoners when talking about industrial production. Also there are many side-stories (eg about Edda Scheer) which distract from the main points.
# “every conceivable horror was perpetrated on the inmates” is a pure 100% POV.

Dear Pan Halibutt. Before I ask my questions I want to express my admirations for your work and for many interesting articles you have published. You made a significant work for Polish studies on Wiki. It’s a proud work indeed. I have been interested in Warsaw uprising for a long time now. I have some questions regarding the participation of Foreign Volunteers on the German side in the uprising. There were allegations that 14 SS Galicia or Galizia (Ukrainian SS division) took part in uprising and conducted many brutalities. These allegations were denied by veterans of 14 Galicia and by some historians. It’s a fact that there were foreign volunteers fighting on German side in Warsaw (Kaminskis SS Brigade POHA and some members of POA-Russian Liberation Army). Maybe those Poles who gave testimonies about the atrocities confused Ukrainians with Russians? Also as I know Azerbaidjani volunteers were fighting against Poles in Warsaw. :Dear Pan Halibutt, Thanks so much for such an insightful and very informative information. I didn’t really expect to find out so many things in one day. Thanks to you now I have full information on Foreign Volunteers in Warsaw Uprising. I was well aware of RONA participation in uprising and also was convinced in the falsehood regarding Vlasov. However, Vlasov made numerous mistakes when he implemented Russian nationalistic policies in KONR regarding the self determination of many nations under Russian control. Although he later corrected that mistake. There was a big opposition from Ukrainian side about the involvement of 14 SS in the uprising. They still have firm believe that those were false allegations and polish provocations to present them as villains. I still don’t understand the main root causes of polish Ukrainian conflict. These are two very close nations. I think they have much greater enemy in the east. Its very sad to read about Azeri participation in the uprising. Azeris joined Wermacht due to many reasons but mainly for national liberation (others like Armenians Georgians, Baltic people, Ukrainians, Turkistani has same reasons). Is it true that Dmitry Shalikashvili (former officer in Polish army of Georgian decent) was member of Georgian SS (under BregadenFuhrer Tsulukidze) and he took part in the uprising? I think those were only allegations. He was one of the Georgian émigrés (of aristocratic background) who loved and admired Poland. Please visit: http://www.conflicts.rem33.com/images/Poland/georpol.htm
:And please let me know what you think about it. I’m very happy to have found you because it’s very hard to meet a person which such a vast knowledge in military history. I have tons of questions but I don’t think you have enough time to answer them. They start from Ulans of Napoleon (in Spain and Waterloo) till the massacre of Polish officers by Soviets. Thanks again for dedicating your time and giving me so much info. Im planning to start article on Georgians in Polish army and if you have some info or want to help out I would be grateful. ::Dear Pan Halibutt, You can not imagine how helpful this information was. I can’t express enough gratitude. This info actually will help me to do more research on those Georgians. As I know Polish government in 1920 also supported liberation movements within republics of Caucasus. From many émigrés in Poland they organized an organization called “Prometey” which was financed by Polish government in establishing military units composed of Caucasian nationals. They even had training camps all across Poland. Polish government also conducted serious research on cultures and history of Caucasian nations and collected great amount of information (later used by Germans Abwehr to form eastern volunteer units). There were some operations conducted in Georgia in 1930s. Via Turkey Georgian insurgents attacked Soviets but most of these operations failed. Many people in Tbilisi who have been involved were executed. Shakilashvilis biography is very interesting and controversial. He was one of the Georgian aristocrats who fled the Bolshevik invasion. He joined Polish army. In his work he expressed gratitude and love for Poland. When Germans invaded he was contacted by Georgian émigrés from Berlin (they had organized Georgian Committee White George). Members of that committee were his former friends and fellow aristocrats (count Amilakshvari, Prince Dadiani and Chavchavadze). They pleaded with him to join the Georgian Legion (under the command of a brilliant general Shalva Maglakelidze). He was convinced by Abwehr agents and by German propaganda for liberation of Georgia. He joined his friend who became BregadenFuhrer Michael Tsulukidze (former officer of Georgian Democratic Republic) in newly formed Georgian SS unit. Both of them had good relations with Admiral Canaris. During the uprising in Warsaw, Salikashvili refused to join German units in Poland and surrendered to the western allies in France. However, there was a version by Soviet propagandists who claimed that Shalikashvili took part I the uprising. By this claim they made him a villain. Before he died in US, John Shalikashvili (son and later a big man in US army) witnessed his last moments. He asked John to never forget Georgia and go back there someday. Its very interesting relationship Polish had with Georgians before and after WWII. Unfortunately many poles don’t know even a simple thing about Georgia (a country which admired them). With Kober I will try to make an article about it in Wiki. What do you think? Thanks a lot again Hali, I really appreciate your help. All the best. LD. ] 20:55, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

However, what you write, is a different matter. You are writing about the territories detached from Poland and attached to Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania before the war. As such, this material belongs to the existing sections, I think. I mean that ] might be a legitimate article but as a section here, it simply doesn't fit IMO. What do you say? --] 18:33, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
] | |||
The article ] has been ] because of the following concern:
: Are you trying to fool me or yourself? Irpen, you're not trying to reach a compromise, you're trying your best to force the others to accept your views, which is a different matter. And a complete loss of time, if you asked me.
:'''This unreferenced articles as written fails ] and ] requirements.'''
: We've reached a compromise solution with Kuban Kazak and guess what? Irpen came and reverted to '''his''' preferred version. Which makes me think that using talk pages to reach a compromise makes no sense since there'd always be some Irpen to come and revert to what his POV tells him. I wasted enough time to prepare the articles you ''fix'', I don't have enough time to waste on talking to a wall, as we say here in Poland. You have your views and apparently are dedicated to spreading them in wiki at all cost. So be it. You don't want to listen to arguments of other people - fine, do as you please. Want to change the articles to your liking - fine again. But be advised that it's a two-way road.
: You've been complaining about Molobo's POV pushing, yet you become his mirror, just on the other side of the fence. He's using modern Polish sources which you find incredible - yet you're using either your own judgement (Volodarka) or some 19th century Russian prop (Orthodox church in Warsaw during the insurrection anyone?). It's your right to be hot-headed, but you don't have a right to assume my bad will or offend me the way you do. Want to continue your behaviour - feel free to. I will not offend you the way you did because in Poland it is believed that such behaviour tells more of the offending part and not of the offended person. However, if all wiki accepts your attitude, in no time all Russian-related articles will be vandalized the way you're vandalizing all articles you find related to Russia. You start adding Soviet propaganda - people will start adding Nazi one. For every ''liberation'' remark you add you will get a ''Soviet imperialism'' remark. This would be disruptive to the project and I believe that in the end all the people to adopt your ways would be banned, but the damage done to wikipedia would be serious. And it takes much more time to repair the image of Misplaced Pages once it starts reflect as radical views as yours.
: Also, if you have a problem with international law not recognizing territorial changes through war then consult your MP and ask him to change it. Until then the Nazi-Soviet alliance and its outcome are not binding - at least not for anyone outside of USSR and Nazi Germany. The alternative is to call all sections according to the contemporary naming: Soviet partisans in General Government, Soviet Partisans in ] and so on. The territories I wrote about in the context of 1943 were detached from Poland in 1945 - and it was not ''before'' the war, but after it. Before the war those territories did not belong to the USSR. Check any contemporary map and you'll see. ''<font color="#990011">//</font>'']] 22:57, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

I read what you wrote on ] about the attempt to rename the page into '''Wladyslaw II/V of Poland, Jogaila of Lithuania''', and I agree totally with you. I think as rule there can't be more than '''one''' variant of a name in the title of an article. If more than one variant is possible, the title must chose only one and the others must be explained in the text itself and redirects must be used from alternative titles. If such alternative titles were admitted in the article's title itself, then we'd have to rename, for examples, ] into '''Stepanakert/Xankəndi''', ] into '''Tighina/Bender/Bendery''' or ] into '''2003 invasion/liberation of Iraq'''...

Battle of Radzymin (1920) - forthcoming TFA
Hello, this is to let you know that I have selected Battle of Radzymin (1920) as today's featured article for December 11, 2012. The blurb (which is at Misplaced Pages:Today's featured article/December 11, 2012) currently looks like this:
The Battle of Radzymin, a key part of what later became known as the Battle of Warsaw, took place during the Polish–Soviet War (1919–21). The battle occurred near the town of Radzymin, some 20 kilometres (12 mi) north-east of Warsaw, between August 13 and 16, 1920. The first phase began with a frontal assault by the Red Army on the Praga bridgehead. The Soviet forces captured Radzymin on August 14 and breached the lines of the 1st Polish Army, which was defending Warsaw from the east. Radzymin changed hands several times in heavy fighting. The Russians wanted to break through the Polish defences to Warsaw, while the Polish aim was to defend the area long enough for a two-pronged counteroffensive to outflank the attacking forces. After three days of intense fighting, the corps-sized 1st Polish Army under General Franciszek Latinik managed to repel a direct assault by six Red Army rifle divisions at Radzymin and Ossów. The struggle for control of Radzymin forced General Józef Haller, commander of the Polish Northern Front, to start the 5th Army's counterattack earlier than planned. Radzymin was recaptured on August 15, and this victory proved to be one of the turning points of the battle of Warsaw.
If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask me or one of the other TFA team members (featured article director Raul654 (talk · contribs), TFA delegates Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) / Gimmetoo (talk · contribs)) or start a discussion at Misplaced Pages talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Hope this all makes sense; let me know if not. Non-free rationale for File:Lastpic 4comp2PPLeg Radom-Kielce Jan45.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lastpic 4comp2PPLeg Radom-Kielce Jan45.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Better source request for File:Krzyz Walecznych 1920.jpg
Thanks for your upload to Misplaced Pages:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:02, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Article creation
Hi Halibutt I dont knowe if youre aware of this, but there is an excellent template for aviation article creation at Template:WPAVIATION creator, which uses the latest layouts and specifications templates and removes a lot of the slog of inputting basic article code. Check it out!--Petebutt (talk) 05:00, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
PWS-22 & PWS-23
Hi Halibutt, Excellent to see more polish aircraft articles, but there seem to be some issues with these two:
- The subject matter hardly warrants such detailed articles
- A single article to cover both would be sufficient as they were VERY closely related and differed mainly in size and engine arrangements, i.e. merge them.
- A variants section to explain the differences between the BN3, and T variants.
- Try to use your own prose instead of parrotting references.
- Avoid adding superfluous details, such as the various competing aircraft which should only get fleeting mentions at best.
Just some suggestions, but if you look at the articles again objectively you may see my points.
Good luck and carry on writing articles.--Petebutt (talk) 15:41, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I didn't know how to go about it, since it is from 1. Reimer's individual 'german wikipedia ' pages, and they told me not to cite wiki as a source. Dr. Eduard Krebsbach Between October 1941 and Autumn 1943, he was Chief-Physician of the SS and the Police at Linz, Steyr, Wels and KZ Mauthausen-Gusen.

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
Thank you for your recent articles, including Katerynivka. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Misplaced Pages:Article alerts and other tools. This can help you too, as the WikiProject members will often defend your work from deletion and try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information. File:Rzeczpospolita_1920.png - Katowice and autonomous Silesian Voivodeship joined Poland in 1922 and not before!
Hi Halibutt, I have found an error on your maps regarding Poland (II RP) between 1918 and 1922. Katowice were incorporated into Poland on 22. June 1922 (when polish military came in, rest of area in July). Especially the maps on Polish–Soviet War are affected - at that time autonomous Silesian Voivodeship did not exist and it's area was beyond Polish borders. So please correct the affected maps accordingly. Regards! --Beschu (talk) 22:09, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

- DYKs don't have to be finished; but they need to be nominated in a roughly complete form within five days of creation/expansion. So if you can expand the section to such a point you can remove the template (doesn't have to be finished, just roughly complete), it can be DYKed. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:36, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

re: Nazi crimes against the Polish nation
You chose a difficult one for your first review. I'll see if I can add anything; IIRC this article was intended as a split from WW2 general one, on he level similar to Holocaust in Poland (one deals with the Jews, one with the non-Jews). The concept is notable, but I haven't looked at the article in loooong time. Might have time on Friday. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 16:15, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Talk:Nazi crimes against the Polish nation/GA1
Halibutt, Poeticbent continues working on his Treblinka FAC to the exclusion of this nomination—even though the FAC closed a week ago, concentration remains on working the article so a new FAC can be opened in a week's time, at which point even more work will be needed to address issues raised by the review.
I think, under the circumstances, it's best to close what is now the oldest ongoing hold—82 days and counting—and let Poeticbent nominate again when there's time to work on the GAN, since the issues you've raised remain unaddressed. Aside from editing the first Germanization paragraph on December 12, Poeticbent hasn't touched the article since October 16. Can you please post to the review page? Many thanks. WikiProject Poland Newsletter • January 2014 • Issue II For our freedom and yours Welcome to the second issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Misplaced Pages notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. Last year we were featured in the Signpost, and our interviewer was amazed at our activity. In the end, however, even as active as we are, we are just a tiny group - you can easily become one of our core members! In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!
It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :) You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a member at WikiProject Poland. |
Proposed deletion of Midrasz

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Tell me precisely which maps you mean and I might be able to find the original. It all depends on what maps you are referring to. I believe I uploaded the original xcf files of the early maps to commons, so they are there. The newer svg maps are also there, but I might have some different versions at my PC. Let me know the details and I hope I might be able to help. //Halibutt 12:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

I remember having had to alter some texts on the map, or range of colors, or introduce a new color to the legend... stuff like that. --Mareklug 14:21, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- First of all, next time you try to reach me, drop a line to my talk page. I don't visit yours regularly.
- Secondly, you either refer to the 18th century maps of Poland or the 20th century maps of Poland. The earlier are made in GIMP and the source file is available for all to use. Sadly, most clones of my maps were made by people who preferred to use MS Paint and modify them by painting with their mouse. And I can do little about it. The 20th century map however was made in vector format from the beginning, and it's much easier to edit and correct. //Halibutt 23:31, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you. I had in mind the 18th century maps. I will try to manage with what is on Commons for those. Incidentally, I am aware of the pl wiki custom of replying on the responder's user talk page, and so on, without rhyme or reason, but I was following the local custom (en wiki) which embraces the much saner keep-it-all-in-one-place-and-thread approach. When replying to you, however, I will copy the answer to your talk page, as you wish. Thank you for your maps and for taking the time to tell me about them. - P.s. https://en.wikipedia.org/Halibut You realized all along, I trust, that your handle is a misspelling, a rather droll one, of the fish? Were you punning on purpose on the word "butt"? W znaczeniu "tyłek" ;) -- Marek

Disambiguation link notification for February 25
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Odessa Art Museum, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eclectic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Permission to use image
I am writing a book on Polish immigration, focusing on a group that emigrated generally from the Rzeszow area to northeastern Pennsylvania. They all became coalminers. I am including a section on the history of Poland, and the reasons the compelled them to leave their homeland. Your map of the partitions of Poland - Partitions of Poland.png (https://en.wikipedia.org/Third_Partition_of_Poland), I would like to include it in the book, though I would like to include it in black and white. Would you grant permission for this use?
Regards,
Martin Novak
