The Left (Template:Lang-de) is a German political party that came into being as a merger of The Left Party.PDS and Labour and Social Justice – The Electoral Alternative on 16 June 2007. Its leaders are Oskar Lafontaine and Lothar Bisky.

According to its own statistics, it is the "third largest political party in Germany" .

The party has, as of June 2007, 71,800 members (60,300 came from PDS and 11,500 from WASG).
