Do you think it is possible to respect, that Olympic result pages start with the "medalists"? Or are you on the way to delete them all e.g. from the 2004 athletics pages? Doma-w (talk) 03:21, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Darius! First of all many thanks for your answer! And I want to tell you, that I really respect and like your work! There are very few users interested in the Olympic result pages. I also wanted to start a style guideline but there was nobody interested... But now to our problem. I understand your POV but I havn't established this style with the medalists on top. When I came here to create/edit the Olympic result pages I found this style on the pages from the years 1896, 1900 and 2004. Also the order on all these pages is, that the results start with the first round, then semi-finals and at the bottom the final. E.g. Athletics at the 1896 Summer Olympics - Men's 100 metres. It would be very nice if we can find a way to work together! It looks like we both are interested in the same, so I hope this will be easy for us! Kind regards Doma-w (talk) 17:18, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:HGC100.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:HGC100.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Olympic article conventions
Hello Darius. I think your work on sport results articles is excellent, but there are a few things I'd like to ask of you. First, with respect to Olympic articles, please follow the conventions we've agreed upon by consensus within Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Olympics. One example is the placement of medalists at the top of each individual event page, such as Athletics at the 1988 Summer Olympics - Men's High Jump. The reason behind this formatting decision is that some event result pages are quite long, and since they are intended to display results chronologically (i.e. heats first, then semi-finals, then finals), a user would have to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the medalists. Instead, a simple summary table at the top of the page is quite helpful. This is similar to the whole idea of infoboxes — often the material in an infobox is duplicated within the article itself, but placement at the top of the page is beneficial. Some other items I'd ask you to watch for are the correct use of capitalization (e.g. "high jump", not "High Jump", since the event name is not a proper noun), and the correct format for numbers per Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) (e.g. 10,000 metres or 10000 metres, not 10.000 metres for the ten thousand metre race, and 2.38 metres, not 2,38 metres for distances). Thanks again for your contributions. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 19:32, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Style
Dear Darius! Please do not use brackets for the nicknames and please use "& ndash;" and not "& mdash;". This would be very helpful to bring the athletes bios in line! Kind regards Doma-w (talk) 00:33, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Icelandic athletes at Moscow Olympics 1980

Ghent, please!

Speedy deletion
I noticed that you tagged the page Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship for speedy deletion with the reason "incorporated in Asia Volleyball Championship". However, "incorporated in Asia Volleyball Championship" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion if you still want the page to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 17:09, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
