Lubrication
Speaking of lubrication, I'm sipping a mimosa while trying to educate with the carrot, rather than the stick. I need another mimosa! -- Flyguy649 17:49, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- We should leave a bottle of that in the washroom of Jimbo's Talk page, out of courtesy to future international visitors and newbies and such. :-) Oberonfitch (talk) 21:49, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Wrong warning, maybe?
I noticed that you posted a generic warning on a user's talk page for vandalizing their own talk page. Reverting was correct, but I think it required something along the lines of blanking talk pages does not get rid of the warnings. Might be something useful to remember next time. Also, for technical reasons, the link to their talk page was also disabled because the viewer is already on the page. mechamind90 18:34, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Your comment is interesting: I assumed he was an well-meaning child with no real idea of what WP is about, and was sighing (well, am still sighing) at the prospect of going through his edits and trying to explain what he was doing wrong. I will bear in mind what you say. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:01, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- A well meaning child was my first impression, but I'm starting to think it is more along the lines of someone with a child's mind, sadly. Disruptive is disruptive and must be stopped, but let's tread lightly on what may be a poor soul.Njsustain (talk) 23:03, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

you serious? your blaming me? it takes two to do an edit war, that is my fault as well as his. but it's not my fault he wont listen. how can i talk to a guy who reverts my edits, and when i go to his talk page, threatens to report me. you think it's easy? Bread Ninja (talk) 19:13, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
if you don't care, and don't know anything about the situation, why bother to report any of us for something you aren't sure of? I can't talk to him, he will revert my post on his talk page and report me.
i could keep reverting my conversation until he reports me, or i could ignore you, either way. i'm getting reportedBread Ninja (talk) 19:20, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
just to let you know, threatening cop voice, is something I'm not going to stand. talk to me in a nicer, non threatening, tone. because that's being uncivil, and is something that could be reported for. just because someone had an edit war, doesn't mean you can't hear them out..Bread Ninja (talk) 15:44, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
User:Dcatmusic
Hi HalfShadow, and thanks for your report of Dcatmusic to WP:UAA. I wanted to ask you if you could, in the future, place an appropriate {{db}} tag on spam pages rather than simply blanking them. It makes it much easier for us admins to find and delete that way. Thanks! Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 21:50, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

- While I agree that this particular editor is proving to be problematic, that does not excuse inappropriate comments about his ethnicity like yours referenced above or that you recently made to AN/I. - Which simply proves the theory that the internet has no shortage of weirdos. :) I just requested a CU on what is almost definitely a MascotGuy copycat. Not only am I dealing with a copycat, but I got chewed out by another user (rightfully so, I admit) for putting some nasty remarks about MG on previous CU requests. I really need to reevaluate my priorities here. Beating back these idiot vandals has worn me out. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:31, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

You think I made up those titles?!!
ExCUSE me. Those titles were copied directly off tvguide.ca. I did not invent them. There will eventually be entries on those episodes, and you will kindly tell me the gross, deadly harm that is done by listing the titles pending the filling out of the details on those episodes.
If you don't believe me, then go to www.tvguide.ca, do a search on Backyardigans and you will see those episodes as coming up in the next 14 days.
There's a link right to the information I saw, (though of course, updated since that date).
I expect you to tell me why you think those upcoming episodes should not at least have their titles listed. GBC (talk) 14:55, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Schools
You wrote that "I've always felt identified school-IPs should be soft-blocked on sight." I agree. Has this been proposed before? If not, we could give a go at getting approval for this, schools are responsible for a lot of the more nasty vandalism. Fences&Windows 23:17, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
University of Perpetual Help System DALTA
Had to kill your CSD, I'm afraid. Web Archive shows that the site http://www.perpetualdalta.edu.ph does not appear until Mid 2006, and part of that data was already on the Misplaced Pages page, and it looks like the http://www.perpetualdalta.edu.ph in its current version did not appear on the web until at least 2008, when most of the Misplaced Pages page was already written - hard to guess an exact date as the actual web page has never been archived - may be because it's less than 6 months old - so for now I had to use the root page - http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.perpetualdalta.edu.ph. I may be wrong, it's always hard to check for copyvio on long established pages Ronhjones 23:41, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Blocked for one week
I am blocking you for a week for unacceptable editing in regard to our biographies of living people.
I came to have strong words with you about this unacceptable edit, only to find you edit waring to keep unflattering images of this subject.
You may return to editing when the block expires, but consider yourself banned from editing that particular biography.--Scott Mac 18:53, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
I have reported this action on ANI .--Scott Mac 19:15, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).HalfShadow (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I beg your pardon? I edited the page once; I added a picture that was a great deal better than the one that was there, which had only been removed because it was 'unflattering'. I neither 'edit wared' (sic), nor was the picture I used 'unflattering'. If anything, the picture I used was perfect for the article; a simple facial shot: http://www.bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/don.jpg Not only expect to be unblocked, but an apology on your part would not be undue. Decline reason:
As noted below, your comments at ANI make your motivations perfectly clear. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:39, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

What about addressing the disturbing comment on AN/I? Aiken ♫ 19:29, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- I admit that was just a joke on my behalf and can see how that could be miscontrued. The problem with the previous picture was that it was 'silly', so I tried to find a better picture for the article. I fail to see how the picture I used could be considered bad. I mean look at it; it's a simple head shot. I'm at a loss here. I've done nothing wrong. HalfShadow 19:32, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- Quite. The image was certainly not very flattering. That's not blockable. However, given the subject had (and you knew) already objected to a similar image, your action was provocative. You comments on ANI made assuming your good faith quite impossible. You were evidently misusing wikipedia to troll a living person. That brings Misplaced Pages into disrepute on top of everything else.--Scott Mac 19:32, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- The main objection to the image (as far as I was aware), was that he looked foolish. The picture I used was flattering, practically complimentary. I reiterate: I've done nothing to deserve a block, much less for a week. HalfShadow 19:35, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- You are honestly asking for us to assume that your upload was in good faith, after your remarks on ANI? Incredible.--Scott Mac 19:37, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- I promise it was. The only one assuming bad faith here is you. Nothing suggested that no picture was allowed, just that the previous one was no good.HalfShadow 19:38, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Request reason:
If I had reverted to the previous picture, then you'd have a point. I added a perfectly acceptable picture (and again, I fail to see how there is a problem with the pic I used) and you're simply using my previous comment as an excuse.
