Irony
I'm sorry to have reverted your edits on this page. You have cut back the lead to the bare bones and left the assertion that irony is only saying the opposite of what is intended. I know some dictionaries say only that, but others (and books on the subject) allow the wider definition that was there before. Several of us argued for a long time about what to include, before settling on the wider definition.
