Use this page to upload files.

Notice: Your file is likely to get deleted if you do not follow the following guidelines:
  • Provide detailed information on the source of the file. If you made it yourself, say so. If you got it from the Internet, provide a link to the page.

  • Specify the licence of the file. Add {{GFDL}} if the file is licenced under the <a href="/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GNU_Free_Documentation_License">GNU FDL</a>, {{PD}} if it is in the <a href="/Public_domain">public domain</a>, etc. See <a href="/Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags">Image copyright tags</a> for more of these.

  • Place a link to the file (or an image tag, if it is an image) in a relevant article, or use the description page to describe what the file contains (preferably both). In the case of an image, describe what the image depicts. In the case of sound files, describe what it is.

  • To include the image in an article, use a link in the form or alt text or Media:File.ogg for sounds. To include an image as a thumbnail, use
    Caption
. See <a href="/Wikipedia:Extended_image_syntax">Extended image syntax</a> for more on this.

  • Use a sensible filename! Please name your file, say, "Eiffel Tower, Paris, at night.jpg" in preference to "etpan1024c.jpg" or somesuch, or "Portrait of George Washington 1785.jpg" in preference to "Washington.jpg". This will prevent your upload from replacing an already-existing file (although you will receive a warning if the file already exists).

See <a href="/Wikipedia:Uploading_images">Misplaced Pages:Uploading images</a> for information on how this upload form works, how to use images in articles, and what file formats are preferred for what types of images.

To upload a file, type the path and filename to the file on your hard disk in the box below (or use the Browse button to display a dialog box). Enter all the necessary information in the Summary field, click the checkbox to acknowledge the copyright, and finally click Upload file.
