In December 2013 it was announced that Carol would be filmed in Cincinnati, Ohio, and production offices would open in early January 2014, with filming set to be done from mid-March through May. The seven-week shooting of the film commenced on March 12, 2014 at Eden Park in Cincinnati. Blanchett was also spotted during the filming scenes at the set. On March 25, 2014, Blanchett and crew were in the Cincinnati suburb of Wyoming shooting a house scene at 32 Fleming Rd. On March 31, 2014, the crews filmed some scenes in Lebanon, Ohio, with Blanchett on location for a one day shoot. The next day they returned to Cincinnati to shoot the rest of the film. On April 14, 2014, scenes involving Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara were shot at Kostas Restaurant in downtown Hamilton, Ohio. Filming wrapped on April 25, 2014. Various locations in Ohio were used during filming, including Downtown Cincinnati, Hyde Park, Over-the-Rhine, and other restaurants and motels.
