Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Misplaced Pages. It is considered spamming, and Misplaced Pages is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. -- Donald Albury 17:21, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Request reason:
We would greatly appreciate you reconsidering your policy of cancelling links to Haystack.com. The Haystack.com pages for artists are managed and controlled by the artist and label, making them more akin to the artist's homepage than links to Myspace, Purevolume, etc. In addition, revenue from those pages goes to the artists themselves, unlike most other social network destinations on the web. See RightsNow Media Royalty or articles published in Daily Candy or Digital Music Weblogs. In a culture where piracy is so difficult to directly combat, we hope that the revenue generated from these pages can help support record sales, not supplant it. Haystack is not seeking to profit off artist's content. The artists and labels that have created these pages have asked us to help drive interest in their new releases, and Misplaced Pages is an important destination where the artists can reach the fanbases that are asking to hear their music. While we understand the culture of Misplaced Pages is to be diligent on links that are deemed commercial spam and appreciate the importance of your role, we hope you can reconsider upon reflection.
Decline reason:
You have fundamentally misunderstood our policy, which is to request that users add value to our articles, rather than adding value to their own sites, no matter how noble their cause. You can read more at Misplaced Pages:Spam. Thank you. -- 〈REDVEЯS〉 20:00, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Decline reason:
The difference is that those people aren't linking to their own site as is forbidden by WP:SPAM. -- Yamla 23:31, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
