Misplaced Pages and copyright
Hello Maria1718182! Your additions to Vittoria Ceretti have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Misplaced Pages, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Misplaced Pages:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Misplaced Pages, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Misplaced Pages. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Misplaced Pages articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Misplaced Pages project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 23:23, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Irina Shayk, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. -- Yamla (talk) 12:42, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- im sorry but she is known as a supermodel worldwide so I thought it wpuld be smart to change how she is known.Plus it didnt ask for sources. Maria1718182 (talk) 14:21, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter if "it didnt ask for sources", it is your responsibility to cite your changes. See WP:CITE. You must do this in the future. Your edits so far have been inappropriate and must not continue. --Yamla (talk) 16:50, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

Model vs supermodel
Hello. I see you've been changing "model" to "supermodel" in lead sentences. Please keep in mind that "supermodel" is not a profession, "model" is. The typical way this works is to define someone in the lead as a model and then subsequently mention in the lead how the person has achieved "supermodel" status in an encyclopedic context, as otherwise the term is vastly overused. Mbinebri (talk) 14:34, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- Bella Hadid is known as a supermodel too why dont you edit her too?I jave simply given a source abt it and it isnt about the profession.Its about how she is recognized.
- "A supermodel is a highly paid fashion model who has a worldwide reputation and background in haute couture and commercial modeling."
- So Irina is a supermodel. Maria1718182 (talk) 14:37, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- Try and edit Bella Hadid as well she is also known as a supermodel and not a model.And I have given a source about it so please don't edit something that is right. Maria1718182 (talk) 14:40, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- I changed the Hadid article. See Gisele Bündchen for a good example how this is supposed to work. Mbinebri (talk) 14:44, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- maybe we can change it to fashion model.But many models are known as supermodels here in wikipedia.That's why I decided to change some that deserved to be called supermodels. Maria1718182 (talk) 14:45, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hadid is still known as a supermodel when I search her.Does it have something to do with google? Maria1718182 (talk) 14:46, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- Google's categorization is not relevant to Misplaced Pages. And yes, some models here are titled "supermodels" in the lead—mostly because experienced editors have missed the change and still need to revert it. But again, calling a model a "supermodel" isn't banned, it just needs to be cited in an encyclopedic context beyond the lead sentence because it's an assessment of status, not a profession in its own sense. If you wanted to use "fashion model," I have no issue with that! Mbinebri (talk) 14:54, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, you may be blocked from editing. --Yamla (talk) 12:18, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
Almost all of your edits are actively harmful to Misplaced Pages, not to mention your violations of WP:SOCK. You are very, very close to an indefinite block. Please stop editing, step back, and take the time to read and understand our policies. If you continue making harmful edits, I will block you indefinitely. --Yamla (talk) 12:20, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hello.I'm a fashion person and I understand fashion really well and I wanted to correct some things at the Gigi Hadid's page( her vogue covers and her height)
- https://fashionista.com/2016/04/gigi-hadid-every-vogue-cover
- Before wanting to edit it I wanted to ask you If the page that I sent now is a relatable article.Because I'm sure that she has made more than 35 Vogue appearances.Thank you for your time. Maria1718182 (talk) 08:28, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
July 2023
Hi Maria1718182! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Misplaced Pages—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Eugenia Volodina, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Russian and Agency. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Misplaced Pages’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Misplaced Pages administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Misplaced Pages;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Hipal (talk) 19:11, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
