Nicholas Cartwright (born 16 October 1988), is an Australian actor. He is best known for playing cop Cash Newman on Seven Network's Home and Away since 2021.
Early life and career
Cartwright completed his Higher School Certificate at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney. He then pursued a career in the Australian Army, where he was a rifleman in Afghanistan and East Timor for six years. After the army he considered a career with Australian Federal Police or the fire department. Instead, he decided to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney.
Initially he auditioned for the role of killer nurse, Lewis Hayes on Seven Network's soap opera, Home and Away, with the role going to Luke Arnold. However, in 2021, he was cast as a series regular, "hot cop" Cash Newman on the show.
