Ammonium tetrathiovanadate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula (NH4)3VS4.
Physical properties
Ammonium tetrathiovanadate forms violet crystals of orthorhombic symmetry.
Chemical properties
Like other ammonium salts, ammonium tetrathiovanadate decomposes when heated. Its decomposition reaction goes as follows:
- (NH4)3VS4 → 6NH3↑ + 3H2S↑ + V2S5
- V2S5 → V2S3 + 2S
