=== The question === | |||
Please read a bit about the Prussia in XV century. The two are uncomparable. I consider Copernicus to be both Polish and German. He might say about himself that he was Prussian (in the XV century sense) - the label which was given to themselves both by Polish-speaking gentry and by German-speaking city inhabitants.
What's more, I am on wikipedia for years. Inserting any remark about Copernicus being "Polish" or "German" is inevitably leading to accusations, revert wars etc. Too many trolls are trying to force their point of view without even listening to the other's side arguments - both Poles and Germans.
Finally, please sin your comments. Thank you. ] 13:46, 13 September 2007 (UTC) |

Copernicus is (or so the article claims) the "first European astronomer" in the sense of not being Chinese, Indian or Babylonian - actually now I look at the article it doesn't even say that. This is a very different thing from removing descriptions on nationality from other figures. You can't know much about WP if you think these changes will last more than a few minutes.
