Members of visual kei bands often wear white makeup, do their hair with elaborate colors and styles, and appear in very colorful clothes that are often reflect 17th century styles, sometimes referred to as Gothic Lolita. Although the whole appearance can appear feminine, many visual kei bands are entirely male. The music of these kind of bands are usually classified under goth, punk, or rock.
