Template:Chinese name He Kexin (born in Beijing) is a Chinese gymnast. She is an uneven bars specialist. In 2008, she won two World Cup titles on the uneven bars. She has received an A-score of 7.7 on her uneven bars routine, which is tied for the highest difficulty score in the world with Yang Yilin and Nastia Liukin.
He Kexin has been a member of the Chinese National Team since 2005. She competed internationally for the first time in 2008 because she did not do any junior events.
There has been controversy as to her actual age; while her 2008 passport and the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique list her date of birth as January 1, 1992,, her age as of 2008 has been reported by the Chinese press as 14, thereby making her too young to participate in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Uneven bars routine
He Kexin made her international debut 2008. At her first World Cup event, she had her international debut of her uneven bars routine. She performed the Li Ya salto, which is a release-release combination of a Jaeger with a half turn directly into a Jaeger, named after fellow Chinese gymnast Li Ya. Her difficulty level on her uneven bars routine is 7.7, meaning that if she hits it perfectly, she can score a 17.7. Her highest international score on the routine going into the Olympics was a 16.850. In comparison, Ksenia Semenova, the 2007 World Uneven Bar Champion, scored a 16.350 when she won her world title.
He Kexin has scored over 16 points on this routine well at both her international events.
He Kexin is currently an event specialist on the uneven bars. She intends to diversify into an all-arounder following the Olympic season.
