George Clements (January 26, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American Roman Catholic priest who made history in 1981 by becoming the first priest to adopt a child. The Father Clements Story was produced as a film by NBC starring actor Lou Gossett Jr. Father Clements was at one time the pastor of Holy Angels Elementary School, a historically African-American Roman Catholic elementary school on the South side of Chicago.
