You love the conflict, don't you? That's why you keep doing stuff like putting the above template here, so you can promote conflict and then play the persecuted martyr. That's okay, redhead. Just keep pretending you care about the project. Those of us who have been watching you for a while know Misplaced Pages has just become another outlet for you to try and get control of something outside of your out of control life. So tell us, when did you get your alleged "Doctorate in Sociology", DocOfSoc? I recall reading somewhere your "doctorate" was one of those you buy online and was not in sociology at all. <|8~P

Prince, i.e.

Prince has used pseudonyms to separate himself from the music (either his own or that of others) he has had input in; "I was just getting tired of seeing my name," he said, "If you give away an idea, you still own that idea. In fact, giving it away strengthens it. Why do people feel they have to take credit for everything they do? Ego, that’s the only reason." These pseudonyms include: Jamie Starr and The Starr Company (for the songs he wrote for The Time and many other artists from 1981–1984), Joey Coco (for many unreleased Prince songs in the late 1980s, as well as songs written for Sheena Easton), Paisley Park (occasionally used in the early 1990s for his production credits on songs, including those written for Martika and Kid Creole), Alexander Nevermind (for writing the 1984 song "Sugar Walls" by Sheena Easton), and Christopher (used for his song writing credit of "Manic Monday" for The Bangles). DocOfSoc (talk) 12:40, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Are you trying to make changes to an article? You can do that by creating a user subpage for working (for example, User:DocOfSoc/Prince). Also, it's better to copy the source of the article you're trying to work on, since it keeps the wikilinks and citations. ctzmsc3|talk 03:37, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Because there is an ongoing discussion on the use of "Karel" in the article this is just a note to myself for future use. DocOfSoc (talk) 05:11, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Re: Karel

Hi Doc. It appears that site is a primary site. Can a third-party source be found about that particular subject? —Mike Allen 19:04, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi Mike. You are right. Will search. TY! DocOfSoc (talk) 22:37, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Sociology Newsletter: II (April 2010)

Sociology ProjectNews • April 2010
Spreading the meme since August 2006

The Sociology WikiProject is conducting a roll call (or min-census, if you prefer). More then five years down the road, we have over 50 members, but we don't know how many of them are still active in the sociology area. If you are or want to become once again an active contributor to the sociology content on Misplaced Pages, please move your name from the inactive to the active list on our roll call (or add yourself to the list if you haven't joined yet!).

In other news, we have reactivated the newsletter :) At least, for this announcement. We also have a new, automated to do listing, an active tag and assess project (which has identified about 1,800 sociology articles on Misplaced Pages, and assessed about 1,3000 of them), and three new userboxes for your self-identification pleasure :) On a final note, I highly recommend watchlisting the Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Sociology page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions.

You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a recipient of WikiProject Sociology Newsletter (Opt-out). • signed

Charles Karel Bouley II?

Hello and thank you for your contributions. I noticed that in this recent edit, you changed the generational suffixes such that Charles Karel Bouley Jr is stated to be the father of Charles Karel Bouley II. This doesn't make sense, since "Jr" implies that the father was already at least the second generation with that name. Can you check your sources? -- Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 23:51, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

TY Tom for your astute observation. My source is impeccable in real life. For Wiki purposes, I cannot find a written source.
See discussion. I hope that will resolve the issue for now, esp since it was a sock puppet that kept changing it. Shalom! DocOfSoc (talk) 06:30, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

SRQ

I have filed an SPI report here - thought you should know. Cheers :> Doc9871 (talk) 20:44, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Hey, DOS! I wanted to ask you if it's alright if I "refactor" your response to Equazcion at the SPI to the appropriate place - it would make the report look more organized. Cheers :> Doc9871 (talk) 03:44, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Never mind! I went ahead and did it. It makes more sense now. Cheers :> Doc9871 (talk) 04:33, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Margaret Clark

Ho..ly..crap. More IP's, all Verizon. This SPI may blow up soon... ;> Doc9871 (talk) 23:23, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the goodies. You commented on the talk page that the sock puppet outed herself on another site. Would you please supply a dif for the SPI case? That would help get closure on the case and help prevent the sock from carrying on like she has been. You can put it here too on your page if you prefer and someone will move the link to the case. Either way, if she has admitted she is socking on the project, it needs to stop. Block me block, sock may mean indefinitely. Thanks, --CrohnieGal 10:20, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

HI C! Sorry, she has not admitted it. Her words, her style were just so obvious, she may as well have signed her name!DocOfSoc (talk) 11:06, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

I agree, I think everyone that has ever edited with her saw her name at the end of the IP's. She has a way of expressing herself that is only her way. I don't think she sees it but obviously from all the others who have taken notice of this all agree that she is definitely the one posting. The rules under banning (I don't remember exactly where it is because I watch AN/i and it's always stated this is true) that if a blocked/banned editor edits in article space they can be automatically reverted with no 3rr problems. You can revert her immediately if she is editing as a banned/blocked sock. Just make sure it's her you are reverting. With her bouncing from IP to IP as quickly as she is she is probably having a ball just having her edits stick. Hopefully if she gets reverted enough she will tire of the game and leave like she is supposed to. Keep an eye out for other new accounts now that she has exposed her one account that she edited with. I hope that someone finally gets to the SPI case and deals with this. I just don't want her to get comfortable and back into her usual ways of postings. It's been nice and quiet for a little while, lets see if that can be returned. Take it slow and be sure though. Lot's of us are watching too so that is good. Be well and happy editing. --CrohnieGal 14:26, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Is She back?

Please checkout the Ryan Seacrest article. I spent several hours reorganizing, and categorizing the article, only to have it reverted. I thought categories were far more appropriate than years, have not seen that before. To call the stalking incident " Personal life" has a familiar ring to it. Categories subject to change but a total revert? Input please. Shalom! DocOfSoc (talk) 21:58, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

I spent a lot of time rearranging and categorizing. Categories were removed and a timeline format was reinserted. I have not seen an article set up with a time line. Is this usual? would like to know what ya'll think of my changes as I am planning on changing them back if you agree and this is my first attempt at a total reorganization. The "Personal Life" change is her style. Later... Have a great weekend! Shalom! DocOfSoc (talk) 22:09, 29 May 2010 (UTC)DocOfSoc (talk) 22:15, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi, you made a comment on the talk page with two difs. Please go back and see the difs and replace them with the ones you meant to use as I am sure you didn't mean to dif the post you were making, which you did twice. I would like to check out what you are saying but I need to see the difs. Thanks, --CrohnieGal 18:16, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for fixing the difs. I took a look and it's not enough to prove it's her but it does put others on notice about the possibility of socking going on. I also used the second dif for his birthdate that had a CN template needed. Thanks again, --CrohnieGal 19:16, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Fascinating, "How to be a Sockpuppet"

http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Wildhartlivie/Archive#Report_date_December_25_2009.2C_02:49_.28UTC.29 As a brand new editor has started editing a rather obscure stub I started editing yesterday, I still find myself wondering... With complete instructions on how to be a sock puppet contained in the link above and the new editor being so facile with Misplaced Pages methods, does anybody ELSE wonder? More detail later. Shalom DocOfSoc (talk) 04:22, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Interesting indeed, DOS. A-6 Intruder, Mike Bickle, John Dillinger (esp. - I see IP socking there big time, also with Verizon), Ted Bundy, Ed Gein. All these articles were also edited by... hmmm. I don't like the looks of Sabra2's short life at all... Doc9871 (talk) 06:32, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Some good advice was asked for and ...

Hi, I went to an administrator that I know who is good at problem solving and other things that are good for the project. Please read here. The best thing all of us can do right now is to revert edits made by her immediately with an edit summary of reverting a sock or WP:RBI with the word socking in the edit summary. Right now 2/0 is busy with real life issues unfortunately but if this continues at a bad rate and the SPI isn't going anywhere I'll try to see if I can nudge one over to the case set up. Please keep me informed on anything major going on but also know that like Doc9871 and the others, I too am watching things. I hope this helps better to explain my position on how I've been talking about this. As for my note on my talk page I was talking about my comments to you under the heading here of Margaret Clark. Be well and don't stress over this, she isn't worth it. --CrohnieGal 09:34, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

I appreciate you Crohnie, always good advice! TY! DocOfSoc (talk) 22:31, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

SPI Addition

Hi, DocOfSoc! I'm a little confused: I'm not seeing where this IP did anything to your page - in fact, the last edit to your page was by you . The IP seems unrelated to the SRQ socks, and the WHOIS for the IP shows Garden Grove, California, exactly like this one does, who has edited your page, but back in March. Did you put the wrong IP in the report? I don't want to compromise the SPI: what's up? Cheers... :> Doc9871 (talk) 17:48, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

I noticed the same thing. The IP you added doesn't seem to have any contribs at all. Equazcion 17:55, 2 Jun 2010 (UTC)

Never edit in your sleep! Sorry! Removed both our comments. TY for your vigilance! DocOfSoc (talk) 22:24, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Cool beans! :> Doc9871 (talk) 22:27, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
The sock case has been looked at so take a look if you haven't already. Would you please revert on site with an edit summary WP:DENY sock revert? If she is reverted enough times maybe she will get bored with the socking. Thanks, --CrohnieGal 08:52, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Absolutely! Good job GF! DocOfSoc (talk) 09:53, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Would you mind giving me a list of articles she is following you to and disrupting? If I can, I would like to help you with this situation so I would obviously put them my watchlist. Thanks, --CrohnieGal 14:17, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

SURE!!

  • Margaret Clark, most blatant
  • John Tran
  • Molly Bee
  • Temple City
  • Ryan Seacrest (called me an idiot)
  • Charles Karel Bouley AFTER year block, clearly SRQ

I think that's it. I am not prolific, intense research takes a lot of time ;-) A lot of historical cross references right now.

Account name (IRONY! Tonight, you have edited under two different users, neither of which is your new account name, User:DocOfSoc. You need to pick one and stick with it. While it's understandable that editors may, at times, accidentally edit under an IP address (the result of editing without being logged in), it's not permissible to use multiple accounts in Misplaced Pages (which you have done more than once this evening by editing as your former account/user name). --SkagitRiverQueen (talk) 05:09, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Shalom! DocOfSoc (talk) 01:15, 5 June 2010 (UTC) DocOfSoc (talk) 01:15, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Ok I'll add them to my watchlist. If you see her just revert. Don't get into conversations with her. Thanks, --CrohnieGal 09:37, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Sorry to correct you, Crohnie, but do get into conversations with her if you "see" her - she will provide more evidence against herself that way... ;> Doc9871 (talk) 09:42, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I stand corrected Doc9871, diarrhea of the mouth is always helpful isn't it!  ;) I've put the titles above on my watchlist too. Hopefully she is bored now that it's been confirmed. --CrohnieGal 11:36, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

FYI

Hi, your comment here was nice in an assume good faith kind of way. That being said, did you realize that IP goes to a Verizon account? Just thought you should know. Happy editing, --CrohnieGal 12:10, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi again, here is the answer to your question. Take the IP above User:71.171.109.42 and click on it. Then scroll down to the bottom. You will see a row of things like Whois. Click on any of them and it will tell you info about the IP account. Like this one, using Whois, shows the edits coming from Verizon. I hope this helps. Give it a test run with this IP to the different links given at the bottom, see the kinds of info you can get on an IP account editor. This helps a lot but as they say it's not an absolute but is good for the duck test. Happy editing, be well, --CrohnieGal 12:09, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, you know, I've never been adverse to challenging her at every turn and I don't suppose anyone ever accused me of assuming good faith when SRQ is involved. And to add to Crohnie's comment above, I find the geolocate link very informative personally. Wildhartlivie (talk) 23:04, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

It is quite wonderful, as are you ;-) DocOfSoc (talk) 23:11, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

I just notice this. Thanks for reverting. --CrohnieGal 14:13, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

You deserve this!

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
You always try to remain polite, even in controversies. Keep up the good work. --CrohnieGal 14:21, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

I just noticed you got this kind of barnstar before. Want me to change this one? There are a lot of them and I'm sure I can find another one just a suitable for you.  :) Let me know. Oh and another thing, you can put these on your user page which is what most do. If you need help just let me know. I'd be more than happy to help. --CrohnieGal 18:30, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

LOVE the Barnstar! TYTY! Have already moved to user page. Wouldn't change it for anything ;-) DocOfSoc (talk) 19:52, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Would you mind?

Hi, would you mind deleting this? I deleted her comment as a banned editor who also violated NPA and Civil policies. I am going through things trying to find something she said but so far I am having troubles finding it and I know she said what I'm looking for. Very frustrating but at least I can do some cleanup along the way. If you want more info, feel free to email me. Actually, feel free to email me anytime you want to.

Oh and I wanted to tell you about asking to be a WP:Reviewer. Editors who do not have this right will not have their edits go live until someone approves the edit. If you do get this, please make sure that the sock we are so watching is checked before accepting her edits. You know how to do this now so it's only a couple of clicks extra. We don't want her edits excepted now do we! ;) Take care and if you have any question, don't hesitate. (I added a little more but it got lost because my cable is bleeping in & out so I am saving this now) :) Be well --CrohnieGal 18:11, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Another thing, would you archive you talk page? You have some really old stuff here. It's really time to archive it. Set up Mitza bot, that's what I have. Well got to go for now, hubby feels ignored. :) Tall later I'm sure. --CrohnieGal 19:34, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Bot is set up for archiving, what to do? I am not clear on what you want me to delete but am not entirely awake yet. Can I give you permission to delete on my page? if so you have it. Does someone nominate you for reviewer? Will come back later. E-Mail soon Hug hubby and be well  ;-) DocOfSoc (talk) 20:00, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

You have the bot to archive every 30 days. The problem is that you have to have real signatures with date and time for the bot to remove them. The other older ones, did you pull some out of archive? As for the reviewer, no one needs to nominate you, you just have to an editor in good standing, at least that's my understanding. Talk to Sarek about becoming one and see what he has to say. Glad you like the barnstar. You work really hard and do a lot of research. You may have to learn more about the projects way of doing things a bit but I wanted you to know someone noticed.  :) As for the deletion I'm asking for please follow the dif I supplied, thanks. I'm off for the day after checking some minor things, talk later, --CrohnieGal 22:17, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

FYI

Hi DOS, I took a look at your user page and noticed that your other barnstar wasn't closed and was boxing up the rest of the things below it. I took the liberty to fix it with closing it with |}. If you don't want my edits there please by all means revert my edit. I was just trying to help plus show you what was happening. I too needed help with this kind of a situation. I am assuming that you are not upset by my edit. Anyways, like I said, feel free to revert if you prefer me to stay offf your user page. If you want to, take a look at my user page and see how I've got things set up. I had help, lots of it. Well to be honest, most of it was formatted by another friend editor! :) I hope you are well, --CrohnieGal 09:30, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Also I put in a request for you to get reviewers rights here. Feel free to ask any other administrator if you feel like it. I just know 2/0 which is why I asked him. If there is anything else, let me know. --CrohnieGal 10:51, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

You seem to have a reasonable grasp of policy and a solid editing history - does this interest you? Please review Misplaced Pages:Reviewing and Misplaced Pages:Pending changes if you have not already, and get back to me or make a request at WP:RFPERM if you would like the Reviewer flag enabled. - 2/0 (cont.) 07:25, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Ok, this is what I explained to you, go to 2/0 and say "yes, please"  :) Thanks 2/0, you're a darling as usual. --CrohnieGal 09:32, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

yes'm ;-) Thnx! DocOfSoc (talk) 12:40, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Replied over at my place first, but for the sake of the little orange bar - you are good to go, good luck. - 2/0 (cont.) 17:54, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
First thank you very much for the barnstar. Anything I can do to help please just ask on my user page or via email. I know Wildhartlive was also helping. I am sad to tell you that she has retired her account and is no longer with us. --CrohnieGal 20:55, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
  • Hi, I notice your comment in the edit summary here that you want semi-protection again (this is what it's called just so you know). There isn't enough vandalism going on right now for that to happen I'm sad to say. So just keep calm and revert the vandalism when it happens. As for our 'friend', I took it to the 'administrator's notice board' to see if anything more could be done to stop the socking. Unfortunately all we can do is play Whac-A-Mole like we've be doing and add the template to the IP so it gets listed. The listing is helpful because if she tries to return we can show proof of socking. I wish there was more that could be done but check user Moonriddengirl gave the numbers for the Verizon users who would be blocked out which is not acceptable damage to incur for the project. So if she shows up, remember to check to be sure it's her, then just revert like we've discussed. I hope this helps. I just wanted you to know that someone did see your request. :) Be well, --CrohnieGal 12:18, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High School

My only problem was convincing myself the first two words are really meant to be hyphenated. How to do it is explained at WP:MOVE. (The move link was more obvious at the top of the page before the new skin. It is now on the drop-down to the right of the watch-star.) Grafen (talk) 07:40, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey DOS, do me a favor and run this kind of thing past me or even Doc9871 before going to ask for protection ok? Even if this wasn't a case of a bad reference and it was her, there needs to be more vandalism than what the article is getting. Understand what I'm saying? Please don't take this wrong, I am just trying to help and save you time. Have a good night, I'm done for now. As you can see on my talk page I am spending limited time here for RL reasons.
