Calgary International Airport

The Calgary Airport Authority is trying to edit the wikipedia page on Calgary International Airport and it seems like you are reverting our edits. We are trying to delete all the airlines, destinations, and cargo as they are out of date. Instead, we just want to refer them to www.yyc.com for the most up-to-date information. The Authority decided it would be easier for visitors to check the website, as we do not have the time to change our wikipedia page every time a new destination/airline is added or removed. Flights can change monthly, so wikipedia would always be outdated. There's no way we can delete the section? 209.47.83.60 (talk) 19:57, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

First, Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia and it looks like there may be a conflict of interest. But either way, Misplaced Pages can be updated instantly. Articles should not have content removed to promote a website. If you want to help, you should add or remove content appropriately. Tommy! 20:00, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm retiring today. I have too many personal issues on my plate, and since I also have school to deal with, I can't overwork myself with a volunteer site such as Misplaced Pages. Hi there Tommy, VASCO here,

it's very frustrating to me that i am only contacted on these occasions, never receiving words of encouragement or the sorts when i improve articles around here (yes, no one is making me, i do it because i want to), in FOUR years; please note that it does not justify my edit summaries, but it's very strange in my humble opinion. Again, i stress my summaries have bordered the hysterical (anger management issues, serious ones my friend, i am not saying that WP is supposed to be therapy, as you once put it) sometimes, but only that, which leads to...

About your suggestion: yes, i will tone down in the future with the well-intended users, a promise. With the vandals and akin...sorry, i can't make that promise (hence me saying i have never insulted in summaries, vandals i have). User/admin Nuclear Warfare is au courant of my wikibehaviour, and he has NEVER issued out any warnings whatsoever. Also, i have never been reported anywhere, only had conflicts with lowlifes that started insulting me/vandalizing my page after i reported them/protected pages/blocked IPs. Not my fault really, but you are entitled to your opinion.

All in all, again you have my promise that i will NEVER go out of line again with a well-intended user at the site (fortunately the vast majority of us), keep up the good work and take care - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:25, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Khalid ibn Walid

Dear Tommy,

I've recently edited the section on Khalid ibn Walid regarding his honorable discharge from military and in this section, there is some factual inaccuracy. As an islamic historian and muslim, I feel that the information there is factually incorrect and based on vague and unsubstantiated sources which conflict with the sources available in the middle east regarding the relationship between Umar and Khalid. In particular, there is no evidence whatsoever that the story told about the argument between Umar and Khalid was ever documented or occured, and the evidence is actually to the contrary which shows that they held a close relationship and were very good friends.

I would therefore ask you to reinstate the changes I have made recently which you dismissed, as I feel that you are misleading less informed readers by keeping this story as it is, and tarnishing the name of two of Islam's greatest heros. Please feel free to check my information against other sources if you feel this is neccessary.

I thought I would let you know that I've decided to return to Misplaced Pages, only in a semi-retired state instead of completely retired. Life has somewhat settled down for me, and since I'm ditching pre-calculus I'll have a little more free time on my hands.
