Tubber (from Irish an Tobar 'the well' – shortened form of Tobar Rí an Domhnaigh meaning "well of the king of Sunday") is a small village located in south County Galway, Ireland. Confusingly the name Tubber is now also used to describe the larger settlement in County Clare to the south of the original village in County Galway. This village of Tubber in Co. Clare is located in the parish of Kilkeedy (which confusingly is usually referred to as the parish of Tubber) and the diocese of Killaloe. The holy well Tobar Rí an Domhnaigh and original post office are located in the parish of Beagh, Diocese of Kilmacduagh, County Galway. In 1885 it was the site of the first GAAhurling tournament, Kilchreest winning.
