The Content Review Medal of Merit
I'd like to nominate Nikkimaria (talk · contribs) for the Content Review Medal of Merit on behalf of the project. Every time I put up an A-class of FAC she's there to check the references. Great work. Hawkeye7 (talk) 11:53, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Support This is an excellent nomination: Nikki has made a massive contribution to this very important, but unglamorous, side of the review process. Nick-D (talk) 12:02, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- As far as I know, the Content Review Medal of Merit can be freely awarded by anyone; it doesn't require a formal vote, so I'm not entirely sure what the point of this request is. Are you proposing that we establish a new formal awards process within the project? I wouldn't be opposed to that, but I would suggest that we create a more unique and "special" award for that rather than using one that's already in common circulation. Kirill 21:07, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- What I am proposing is that it be awarded on behalf of the project, rather than simply by myself. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:36, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if that really makes sense as a one-off thing, considering we've already awarded Nikkimaria the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves on essentially the same basis; simply giving her a "lower" award doesn't seem like the best approach—particularly as we do already have a precedent for awarding the Oak Leaves themselves multiple times.
- Now, if the intent is to establish a more general principle of giving project-level awards to content reviewers (in addition to our ACM system, which is primarily oriented towards content creators), I would have no problem with that; in fact, I think we may have discussed something along those lines during one of the quarterly review awards cycles. However, as I mentioned above, I'd suggest coming up with something more unique (e.g. a Content Review Medal of Merit w/ Oak Leaves or something like that) for use as a project-level award rather than co-opting the existing one. Kirill 21:51, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with Kirill, although I think we should try to come up with our own name for it. :-) Ed 22:31, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- What I am proposing is that it be awarded on behalf of the project, rather than simply by myself. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:36, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Anotherclown
I'd like to nominate Anotherclown (talk · contribs) in recognition of his enormous contributions to articles on Australian military history (which include 5 A-class and 15 GA-class articles) and the military history of other nations as well as his massive contributions to the article assessment and review processes, not to mention his many other contributions to keeping the project running. I think that this award is long overdue given Anotherclown's impressive record and the fact that he was a runner-up in the Military historian of the Year process for 2010 and 2011. Nick-D (talk) 02:50, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
- Support Great writer and incredibly helpful with the more mundane activities.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 03:51, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
- Support with alacrity! Indeed overdue, I'm glad to recognise with the Oak Leaves AC's great contributions to Australian Cold War history, as well as the everyday MilHist tasks -- and tks Nick for nominating. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 04:18, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
