Thanks for your work on the Red LIne page

Just wanted to write to thank you for taking on the terrible task of making something coherent out of the Red Line page. It has been on my to-do list for a long time but it's just been so terrible that the thought really daunted me.

What are you thoughts about pruning some of the process-y parts back? In particular, the stuff about the debate in the assembly seems to me to be pretty moot at this point, since the state government has cohered around a particular vision of the line. --Jfruh (talk) 15:55, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

(I should add that I would be happy to take on any such pruning; I'm not writing you to say "Thanks for your work, here's another task for you!") --Jfruh (talk) 15:56, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

I've revised the Red Line article, trimming and summarizing the debate in the General Assembly, most of which is no longer relevant. Folklore1 (talk) 19:31, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Maryland Purple Line Diagram

On my user page, I've created route diagram to replace the current "WMATA Purple Line" route diagram. It's currently located at User:Folklore1/Maryland Purple Line Diagram. I do not know how to install my diagram in the existing Purple Line (Maryland) info box or, alternatively, how to find and edit the existing route diagram. Advice on how to find existing route diagrams and how to upload my own diagram to this location would be appreciated. Folklore1 (talk) 19:26, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

I think the diagram you are referring to is at Template:WMATA Purple Line. You can edit this template like any other page. Please note that the diagram was removed from Purple Line (Maryland), so you should add a reliable source if you plan on adding it back to the infobox. Regards SoWhy 19:47, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Hope it's OK if I butt in; Folklore1's variant on the map is based on the Locally Preferred Alternative and is labelled as such; a citation to that effect in the template should cover citation problems. Folklore, I added a similar diagram to the Baltimore Red Line article; just peek at the syntax of that article's infobox to see how I did it. --Jfruh (talk) 22:09, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I did get some ideas from the Baltimore Red Line diagram, which I applied to the Purple Line diagram. Thanks! My biggest confusion in this project was locating the files where the route diagrams were stored. I didn't realize that I simply needed to insert "Template:" in front of the label. Re: Alexei Kondratiev

Hi, I see you are starting your version in your userspace (at User:Folklore1/Alexei Kondratiev), I took the liberty of replacing it by the version that got deleted. I hope this helps! -- Luk 15:23, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

No problem! Good luck and thanks for improving Misplaced Pages! :) -- Luk 15:47, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Western Maryland Railway

Hi. You excluded Talk:Western Maryland Railway from the Baltimore Task Force, stating "not located in Baltimore city." The WM operated in Baltimore City from 1873 until its dissolution a century later; see the History section of the article. Or is there some other criteria for inclusion in the Baltimore Task Force? Caseyjonz (talk) 02:54, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Western Maryland Railroad did not actually enter the city of Baltimore. It served as a link to Western Maryland from Owings Mills, where the Northern Central Railway terminated. If we consider Baltimore County part of the Baltimore Task Force, then perhaps Western Maryland Railroad should be included. Otherwise, maybe it shouldn't. Of course, Northern Central, which did indeed enter the city, should be included, so I've added it. Folklore1 (talk) 20:33, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure why you say the WM did not enter the city, when the article already states that it did. During 1857-72 the WM operated its own trains from Owings Mills into Baltimore through trackage rights over the the Northern Central line. (That point may not be obvious in the current article; I will revise that shortly.) Then, in 1873, to quote from the article, "...the WM built its own line from Owings Mills to Fulton Junction in Baltimore... It built a branch east of Union Station to Hillen Station, which opened in 1876 and became the company headquarters... In 1904 the WM completed construction of a large marine terminal at Port Covington, on the Patapsco River in Baltimore..." Fulton Jct. is near Fulton & Laurens Sts.; Hillen Station was on Hillen St., downtown. There is ample documentation for all of these WM facilities, some of which is provided in the article's references. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks. Current asset

Hello, long-term assets redirect to fixed asset. Do you want to substitute it? Regards. 204.174.87.29 (talk) 21:15, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure. All fixed assets are long-term, but are all long-term assets fixed? Folklore1 (talk) 02:41, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

The Balance sheet article listed long-term intangibles in the fixed assets section of an example balance sheet. So it looks like long-term assets and fixed assets mean the same thing, and it would be okay to substitute the term fixed assets for long-term assets. Folklore1 (talk) 21:25, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Henry Fite House

Updated DYK queryOn 6 April 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Henry Fite House, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that a tavern in Baltimore, the Henry Fite House, served as the United States capital for two months? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Talk:St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador/GA2

Hi Folklore1. Thanks for your note on my talkpage. I'm happy to help, but there is a possible conflict of interest here, since I carried out the first GA review and expanded the lead after I'd closed the review, as the nominator did not find anyone else able to help. Could you clarify in a bit more detail what you would like me to do? I'm happy to help with changes and/or give advice, but I should not be doing "significant changes" at the same time as giving advice. We should be able to work this out without too much trouble, but I think the "ground rules" need to be clarified at that start. Pyrotec (talk) 20:35, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps I should clarify. My suggested edits were I did not work on the article itself: but the lead may well contain some of my work. Pyrotec (talk) 08:24, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

A bot has reverted the article back to B. Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 18:45, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

{{helpme}} I'm trying to approve a GA review for St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, but I'm having difficulty with the GA templates at the top of its talk page. This seems to have triggered a revert by a bot. Folklore1 (talk) 22:09, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Not a revert - looks like the bot has added "August 9, 2011 Good article nominee Listed" to the Article Milestones, but it appears to have grabbed the version before your edit - maybe it took too long and you got yours in first (i.e. an edit conflict) - suggest raise issue at User talk:Gimmetrow (bot's talk page owner)  Ronhjones  00:27, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

GimmeBot has again changed the GA status of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Folklore1 (talk) 20:20, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

ω Awaiting input from User:Gimmetrow. I posted a message saying that the bot is malfunctioning. Samwb123 21:36, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

(edit conflict)User:Gimmetrow hasn't edited for a few days (he seems to pop in and out), you could use the e-mail link on his user page, to see if he's around. The bot seems convinced to add "action4" - well let it have it for now, I've tried leaving it in and re-adding your edit above it. See what happens. If it all goes wrong again, and you can't raise Gimmetrow, we may have to block the bot.  Ronhjones  21:44, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! After your edit, I noticed that there is just one GA box on the talk page. Perhaps the bot was trying (as best it could) to eliminate the double GA boxes left on the page when I approved the 2nd GA nomination? Folklore1 (talk) 23:10, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Maryland

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Maryland might be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. I have started a discussion on the projects talk page soliciting the opinions of the members of the project if this project would be interested in being supported by WikiProject United States. Please feel free to comment on your opinions about this suggestion. --Kumioko (talk) 03:09, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Garwyn Oaks, Baltimore

Good work on Garwyn Oaks, Baltimore. I removed the new article tag. A photo would be a welcome addition. As I can see from some of the references, this is a well maintained neighborhood with large and interesting houses. --DThomsen8 (talk) 12:18, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

BWI

Some of the edits you made on the Baltimore Airport page have been reverted. You messed up a lot so while you made constructive edits you also made a mess of other things. Also, please consolidate your edits because when people need to undo edits they need to be able to do it in few easy edits. Cali4529 (talk) 20:09, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

The article needs a good bit of work. As I return to it for more edits, it may get a bit messy while my edits are in progress. Next time, I'll post an in-use tag to make it clear when I'm working on it. Please be patient and allow me time to fix mistakes while the tag is in place.Folklore1 (talk) 20:37, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

You need to stop editing BWI so much because it is actually a rule on wikipedia that if a user edits a page too much you should be stopped. Your edits are not too helpful and you need to consolidate your edits. And btw... here is your "World Class" source... just for pissing me off. http://bwiab.weebly.com/ Cali4529 (talk) 19:55, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

There is no such rule regarding editing, please try and assume good faith and remain civil in discussions, in a collaborative environment such incivility can be poisonous. Also, please don't use a Weebly source, it's a self published source of the worst kind. Яehevkor 22:38, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages talk:Articles for creation/SwiftKey submission decline

Yesterday you declined the SwiftKey article for reading like an advertisement. This is the third time it has been declined for that reason. Every time I resubmit I have made changes to adjust the article. The most recent submission was after making adjustments suggested here. That post also explains my thought process while creating the SwiftKey page (using Swype and Android version history as guides). Both of these articles exist, and I do not see how the SwiftKey page is so different from the two of them with regard to style. I'm trying to figure out what specifically is wrong so I know what to do to fix it. If you would please elaborate on your reasoning for rejection I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your response. G what (talk) 01:07, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Light tower (equipment)

Thank you for reviewing my article and making the disambiguation page to go with it. I noticed that you added Category:Equipment but there are only ten other articles in that category. I think it definitely belongs in Category:Construction equipment and possibly in Category:Firefighting equipment (I added both). Could you please have another look to see whether Category:Equipment is suitable? 24.24.214.15 (talk) 00:25, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Firefighting equipment and construction equipment, which are subcategories of the equipment category do seem more appropriate. I see these have already been added, so I've removed the equipment category, which would be redundant. Folklore1 (talk) 21:52, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
