Hello Poeticbent,

Please be advised that Polish users seem to be 'silenced down' by (German?) admins from voicing their opinions and concerns regarding the handling of article's edits/amendments on Copernicus' nationality.

http://en.wikipedia.org/Talk:Nicolaus_Copernicus#RfC:_rewrite_of_the_nationality_section

My comment, for that matter, has been deleted. See its' copy below:

Easter palm

Heads up it's a good time to get cranking on this so we can finally slot this for the Palm Sunday DYK anniversary... --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:15, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

So I created something that passed a DYK muster, would like it to be more comprehensive, but the sources just aren't there... sigh. To do for Easter 2014: Easter in Poland (if you would want to start it, I suggest a sandbox, so we can keep it DYK fresh for next year :D). We do have Christmas in Poland, at least. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:22, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

I'd like to leave it up to you to decide Piotr. The Easter thing is not exactly my cup of tea (...call it a sandbox if you will), but thank you for asking. It is probably too early for the next year Polish Easter DYK though, because more material might still come up to work with. Poeticbent talk 05:05, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Aert van den Bossche

Updated DYK queryOn 9 March 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Aert van den Bossche, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that for over a hundred years, the subject of the painting now identified as the Martyrdom of Saints Crispin and Crispinian (close-up pictured) by Aert van den Bossche was a mystery? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Aert van den Bossche. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

St Augustine's sacrifice

I take your point about lists. However, the title of this painting seems a bit long....could it be tidied? -Thoughtfortheday (talk) 23:17, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

It looks OK to me though. Thanks, Poeticbent talk 21:51, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

Notability of writers/poets

I am about to AfD Marcus Slease, but thought I would ask you what you think about this - you have somewhat unique perspective on that that I value. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:38, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Piotr. Seeing this, brings back bad memories. With little doubt, the entry is a coi heaven. I suggest, you don't spent your precious time in there or you will drown in quick sand. Cheers, Poeticbent talk 04:51, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Advice Polack

Hello Poeticbent. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Advice Polack, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: G10 is for pages that disparage, threaten, intimidate or harass their subject or some other entity, and serve no other purpose. This does not fit that bill; let the community decide at AfD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 23:23, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

The AfD was closed because the page had been speedy-deleted G10 by Merovingian (talk); but that deletion was reversed by The Blade of the Northern Lights (talk), so I have re-opened the AfD. JohnCD (talk) 23:38, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Posting the name and link to picture was a violation of WP:BLP. I have rev-deleted them: do not repost. JohnCD (talk) 23:50, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
I think the intent here was to ILLUSTRATE the BLP problems with the article.Volunteer Marek 23:50, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
I'm not a lawyer. Although I always try to help others, I have no time, nor resources, to help a victim of an ugly smear-campaign defend himself against all powerful anons roaming through cyberspace these days. If it was about me, I would contact the wp legal team personally right away, but he probably won't. I gave a good rationale for G10. – If it wasn't for the facts, how else would that disparaging page be deleted. No doubt, Merovingian knew that too when making a difficult decision, Poeticbent talk 00:10, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
The page does not disparage anyone, but rather reports on what appears to be an established if sad ongoing event, in a way that makes clear the injustice of what was done. Since you are clearly familiar with Polish culture and media, it would be helpful if you would comment on individual sources at Talk:Advice Polack so we can sort out what is and isn't reliable information for the article. In particular we should, if at all possible, use sources which reveal as little personal information as possible about the individual involved, including his actual likeness. Finding such sources may be difficult and your help would be invaluable. EEng (talk) 04:18, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
I have no further interest in the matter. I'm sure you'll understand. Thanks, Poeticbent talk 06:18, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

No, actually I don't. You're concerned enough to try to get the article deleted through misuse of WP guidelines, but not concerned enough to do the hard work of vetting the article's sources. EEng (talk) 12:30, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

For inspiration

This is for nothing in particular, just generally the inspiring example in editing and discussions which is always uplifting first and foremost. Even when drawing lines, the goal remains pushing us to a better place in everything you write. I'm just really impressed, thanks for editing! AbstractIllusions (talk) 00:15, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
