A Talk page (also known as a discussion page) is a place for contributors to calmly discuss improvements to Misplaced Pages pages. It is not a forum.
All Misplaced Pages pages, including articles and user pages alike, have a corresponding Talk page. To switch to the current page's Talk page, click on the "Talk" tab above the page's title. At the very top of the page there is always a link to your Talk page.
All content and conduct issues should be discussed at either the article's or user's Talk page before requesting dispute resolution.
You can {{ping}} specific editors whom you would like to notify of your message post. Though there is no need to ping someone when you've edited their Talk page, because the Wikimedia software automatically notifies that user.

Patrick Lefevere editing
Hi Gareth,
I removed the content about the doping material because not only was that story retracted due to poor sourcing, Lefevere pursued legal action because of it and won.
Please see here: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/lefevere-awarded-eur500000-by-belgian-court
Misplaced Pages recommends removing unsourced or poorly sourced material. The source itself used in this content was retracted because of poorly sourced material. Therefore, I did what the page recommended as the very sources the story used were poor, and therefore it seems to be a bad idea to use that as the basis for saying he was accused of doping. Please let me know if this makes sense as this is not only constructive, it appears to be necessary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OPQS2013 (talk • contribs) 20:24, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Happy Halloween
Trick or Treat! Nos Calan Gaeaf Hapus, Gareth Griffith-Jones! I hope you have a great evening and remember to be safe if you go trick-or-treating tonight with friends, family or fellow zombie editors. Hi again. I can't remember it you have this article The Snowman on your watchlist. If not would you mind adding it. Like so many other of our Xmas themed articles it gets a lot of traffic for the next couple months. Some of it is even helpful :-) MarnetteD | Talk 20:48, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Done with pleasure! Cheers! — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 07:51, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Talking about perennial reversions, I noticed that you followed me to this wretch's Talk page (Contributions). — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 17:38, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

- Yep. Hopefully they will watch the film again and realize the errors of the way :-) The item is always special to me because I won a dinner bet about that plot point several years ago. MarnetteD | Talk 19:49, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Ha, ha! That is priceless ... well done.
Btw, four days ago I was enthralled when watching episode one of David Tennant's latest performance. It is a drama featuring a defending barrister. Keep away from the article because you don't want any pre-amble. I viewed it "cold" apart from a short interview on BBC One's Breakfast. I have just made this revision to David's page: Between late January and March 2013, Tennant filmed The Escape Artist for BBC One. Tennant plays a talented, junior barrister who is yet to lose a case. The series was aired on BBC One on 29 October 2013. — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 20:15, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Ha, ha! That is priceless ... well done.
- Thanks for letting me know. I will keep an eye peeled for it. I can't remember if we ever discussed it but I liked the series Ripper Street a great deal (8th Dr Paul McGann was in one episode) so I was happy to see that a second series has been made and is currently airing on your side of the pond. I am also looking forward to Cardiff City v Swansea City tomorrow. I think they said that it is the first time two teams from Wales have met in the BPL but I could be wrong. MarnetteD | Talk 20:33, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- I did not watch the first series but this week I had recorded the first episode and do have it on 'series link'.
So you watch football/soccer too. I never have, probably because I only played "rugger" ... now that is dating me.
Cardiff versus Swansea! Big rivals in EVERYTHING. — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 20:50, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- I did not watch the first series but this week I had recorded the first episode and do have it on 'series link'.
- I wondered if your love of rugby might not supersede all else (and I do mean that as a compliment so apologies if it doesn't read that way) Yes I have followed the rest of the worlds football since I saw Brazil beat Italy back in the 1970 World Cup. For years US coverage of the sport was sporadic and most US sports yakkers were disparaging about the game. Now we get to see games from all over the world on the various cable stations. Ripper Street has some interesting byplay between the main characters - they are allies for the most part but upon occasion individual motives will leave them at loggerheads. This is one of those times when I wish we were neighbo(u)rs across the street - rather then the pond - from each other because I would just drop off my DVD set so you could catch up on the series :-) Enjoy the rest of your evening and your Sunday tomorrow. MarnetteD | Talk 21:09, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- I would welcome that too. I watched episode one after my last post to you and was greatly entertained; although without the background history, it was a little confusing particularly regarding the American's presence. I am sure that as the story unfolds all will become palpable. Thank you for the endorsement!
You are possibly correct about my rugby ('!') Have a lovely Sunday. and — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 10:55, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Re talk page removals
Hi again. I saw your note on Masem's talk page. My understanding is that a user can remove any talk page warnings and, as Masem states it is understood that means they have read the message. The thing that can't be removed is "You are blocked" messages while the block is in effect. After a block has expired then that message can be removed as well. Now this is coming from my watching these situations and I could be wrong or missing some nuances that admins are aware of. Well, as I am typing this Cardiff has finished there one nil win in a driving rainstorm. Did you version of Daylight Savings Time end last night like ours did? MarnetteD | Talk 17:55, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- Good evening Michael
That was exactly what I thought. That was my reason for posting on Masem's Talk, because the new user had immediately removed their notice of a 31 hours block.
Well done Cardiff City! Although I don't follow the game, my birthplace is so dear to me, so of course I am delighted.
No, we changed to GMT last Sunday at 02:00hrs BST. — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 18:40, 3 November 2013 (UTC)←- Interesting to know. As a certified candlelight addict this season of earlier and longer nights is always my favorite time of year. A room full of candle glow goes particularly well with Beauty and the Beast, Barry Lyndon, Stardust and La Traviata with the last one being a New Years Eve tradition. On another note I am so glad that "The Day of the Doctor" is being simulcast since it means that I won't have to avoid wikipedia due to spoilers. :-) Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 19:46, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- I thought talk page removal of a block warning was not allowed, but it is not an explicit case listed at WP:BLANKING (a declined unblock request, yes.) If this is really not the case, then BLANKING needs to be fixed. I didn't want to toss any more "you can't do that" type messages at the user without having something to back up the accusation. --MASEM (t) 19:48, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- On reflection, I am amazed that you, in your location, have been able to watch two Welsh teams playing live football. This would have been unimaginable not very many years ago. How communications have progressed.— | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 21:16, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- I have just enjoyed watching the second episode of Ripper Street, thanks to you, Michael, because, otherwise, I may not have seen the first. — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 22:59, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
- Glad to hear it. You have some excellent storytelling in front of you. MarnetteD | Talk 00:51, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
Line-up for Saturday
@ Michael.
The champions of two hemispheres will collide. This is promising to be an outstanding game. But will Wales be a bit rusty for their first match of this season? — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 20:14, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I checked my cable schedule and the only rugger for us available this weekend is a match between the US and New Zealand. Thus, I look forward to your assessment of how they look. I notice that there is a Wales v Tonga match on Fri the 22nd which is nice because it will give you something to fill the time until the 50th :-) BTW on the 21st An Adventure in Space and Time is airing. It looks very intriguing and has an excellent cast. It is on BBC America's webpage but an air date hasn't been announced yet. Have a pleasant evening. MarnetteD | Talk 20:54, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hey, thank you for alerting me to two weeks Thursday; the 90 mins documentary drama does look promising and has David Bradley of Our Friends in the North in it. He is 11 days my senior. I had recorded each episode week by week onto good old VHS in 1996 and still have the tapes. All the best! — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 22:39, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- You are welcome. Our Friends... is IMO one of the best serials ever made. The last scene with the four main characters in that little room illustrates how much can be said without using words to say it. When friends express their enthusiasm for Chris E as the Dr or Daniel C as Bond I get to (smugly) say I saw them years before those roles and I knew they were brilliant performers. Of course, the same applies to Mark S and Gina M and it would be remiss of me to not mention them. I recorded it as well when it aired on BBCA. Unfortunately, they aired with commercials so ordering the DVDs from Amazon UK was a top priority when I got my region free DVD player. MarnetteD | Talk 23:38, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Forgot to mention that the proximity in birthdays is always fun. I am exactly three weeks older then Stephen Fry. MarnetteD | Talk 00:05, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- Good news from my cable TV. As I was checking things that will be on next week I found that the Wales v SA match is going to be aired next Thursday!!! I think that is going to be the first chance I have had to see them since the Six Nations clincher against England. Though it wont be live I am looking forward to seeing them play. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. MarnetteD | Talk 17:14, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- I thought you might enjoy looking at what is available through the high end Hammacher Schlemmer catalog I receive. Of course, if I had that kind of money I would spend it on a trip to the 2015 Rugby World Cup and go to see several games with you. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 17:14, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- I am pleased that you will be able to watch what turned out to be a truly thrilling game.
What an amazing catalogue! The Morgan confuses me: it is like an original, but how can it be? They stopped making three-wheelers in the early 1950s. It must be a replica. Yet it claims to be a Morgan. — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 21:27, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- I am pleased that you will be able to watch what turned out to be a truly thrilling game.
- I think you are right that it is a replica even though the advert doesn't say that. The previous catalog included this gem from 1960s pop culture. It can't be an original either. Of course the big child in me wants this which has a slot car race track inside it (click on the pic on the bottom right to see it in detail) - now if I had that kind of money I could buy buy both of us a Morgan and we could still sit in a luxury suite for all of Wales games in the next world cup :-) I am pretty good at wishful thinking - heehee. MarnetteD | Talk 22:27, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- In my opinion, it does no harm to daydream. You have conjured up some ideal situations above and we would certainly have tremendous fun.
The catalogue is truly outstanding. Never seen anything like it before. Many thanks. Have a restful Sunday! — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 10:23, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
