Good article nominations

Misplaced Pages:Good articles is a list of articles containing excellent content, but which are unlikely to be suitable featured articles - primarily because they are not very long. The system is unbureaucratic: everyone can nominate good articles, and anyone who has not significantly contributed to an article can review it. This list is for proposing possible promotion of articles to the community for consideration. (Consider joining Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Good articles if you are doing lots of reviewing!)

For nominators adding articles to this page

If you believe an article to be good, according to the 'Good Article' criteria:

  1. Check to make sure it is not already on the good articles list.
  2. List it at the bottom of the "Nominations", in the relevant section, below by using "# {{article|NAME OF ARTICLE}} ~~~~" with an edit summary of "+]"
  3. Add {{GAnominee}} to the nominated article's talk page.
  4. Wait for someone else to approve or remove your nomination.

Miscellaneous

For reviewers of currently nominated articles

  1. Long-standing nominations are a higher priority than more recently added ones.
  2. Review carefully - the standards of GAs are only as high as the standards of the most lenient reviewer!

Pass

If you see an article below under "Nominations" that you haven't significantly contributed to and that meets the 'Good Article' criteria:

  1. Remove it from the list using the edit summary "-] (Passed)"
  2. Replace {{GAnominee}} with {{GA}} on its talk page.
  3. List the article on Misplaced Pages:Good articles under appropriate section.
  4. Update the article count at the end of the section.
  5. Optionally, update the article count and recently listed list at the top of Misplaced Pages:Good articles.

Fail

If you see an article below under "Nominations" that you don't consider to meet the criteria:

  1. Remove it from the list using the edit summary "-] (Failed)"
  2. Replace {{GAnominee}} with {{FailedGA}} on its talk page.
  3. Please leave a reason on the article's talk page. You may use the template {{subst:gan-fail}} to explain, with the following syntax:
    {{subst:gan-fail|(reason)}} ~~~~
  4. If your sole criterion for rejecting the article was a lack of appropriate references, please add the article to the Unreferenced GA Nominations list.

Harness racing is major in Norway, France, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
