| Dar tribe is the famous tribe of kashmir.In census of 1931 of kashmir their population was of 118000 in Kashmir.People with surname Dar are found in Kashmir,Punjab,Haryana,Bengal etc.Dar tribe is famous for bravery,politeness and beauty.There are three theories about the origin of Dar tribe .One is that they are descendent of the ruler of Damar.After that they were called Damar.With the passage of time it change into DAANGER.With further passage of time it change into Dar.Second theory is that they were Jews which latter embraced Islam.People with surname Dar are still living in Israel,America and in other countries of Europe.Third theory is that Dar and Dhar are same tribe.This theory seems to be wrong because Dar and Dhar are considered different tribe in Kashmir. | |||
