Not My Life

Hi Cirt,

I hope life has been going well with you since I last heard from you. I have finally found time to start another FAC, and it is for Not My Life. I have greatly appreciated your reviews in my past FACs, and I would be grateful for any comments you might be willing to provide in this one.

Neelix (talk) 16:01, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, Neelix, but I simply don't have the time right now with other IRL stuff going on, but I wish you the best of luck, it sure looks like a most interesting article. If I have some time I may try to check back later. — Cirt (talk) 02:27, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
No worries; I understand that life can get busy. Thanks for the encouragement. I hope that life is going well with you throughout all the busy-ness. Neelix (talk) 02:42, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks Neelix, I'm pretty good, just need a tad bit more sleep lately. — Cirt (talk) 02:56, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Arbitration case request

Hi Cirt, just letting you know you've been mentioned in this arbitration case request. Regards, Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 10:10, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you're telling me this, Callanecc, as I'm not allowed to comment there? — Cirt (talk) 11:52, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
ArbCom has held for a while that it is an allowable exception per WP:BANEX to defend yourself. If you feel that you need to defend yourself but you'd rather not do so publicly you can always send the Committee an email. It was a more a message just to let you know that you'd be mentioned and/or discussed. Regards, Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 04:34, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you, Callanecc. I've been informed by ArbCom that I'm not a party to the case so I won't defend myself at this point in time and will continue instead to focus on other, unrelated, Quality improvement projects. Hopefully that will be okay. — Cirt (talk) 12:41, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
(watching) Quality improvement projects rings my bell ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:53, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
(Stalking.) Can I pitch a quality improvement idea to you? (Hi Gerda.) --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 12:58, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
You who? Me? my talk. Project: related talk (general + TFA - missed - infobox). Or Cirt? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:02, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Cirt mentioned quality improvement so I asked him, but I'd appreciate your thoughts too, Gerda. I don't understand "Project: related talk (general + TFA - missed - infobox)." That's an invitation to all at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Quality Article Improvement, too. I'd be very grateful for all of your input. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 13:11, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
The project has subpages, everybody is free to comment on their talk, general + TFA - missed - infobox. Only project members of the cabal of outcasts should change the project pages ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:26, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Ah. Thanks. OK. I've started one at Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Quality Article Improvement#Fact checking. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 13:59, 24 September 2014 (UTC)

Nomination of Cult Awareness and Information Centre for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Cult Awareness and Information Centre is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages according to Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Cult Awareness and Information Centre until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Tgeairn (talk) 10:12, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Thank you, Tgeairn (talk · contribs), for this notification. I won't be participating in this deletion discussion, and will instead respectfully defer to the consensus outcome from the WP:AFD process as determined by the community. Please also note that the last time I edited that page was over four (4) years ago. — Cirt (talk) 12:27, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Absolutely, and understood. I am aware that it may be annoying receiving these notifications, but obviously I must continue to notify page creators when nominating an article. Cheers! --Tgeairn (talk) 12:41, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
I still thank you for the notification, Tgeairn, it is most interesting reading, but please understand my level of article quality these days in pages I use for Quality improvement projects is a bit higher than it was those years ago. For example, the WP:FA quality page, Freedom for the Thought That We Hate. Thank you, — Cirt (talk) 12:45, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Once I wandered into this whole NRM world I went and "checked you out" so-to-speak. I completely agree that both your article quality and work in general here lately at EN are superb. Tgeairn (talk) 12:54, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the kind words, Tgeairn, I really appreciate that! I encourage you to read through some of my successful Quality improvement projects related to the general topic of freedom of speech. Freedom for the Thought That We Hate is a good example, and I highly recommend you read the book as well. Let me know what you think of the book. — Cirt (talk) 12:56, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
"I completely agree that both your article quality and work in general here lately at EN are superb." = nicest thing somebody's said about me on Misplaced Pages in a while, thanks again, — Cirt (talk) 16:40, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Some days we all need a good word! FYI, I picked up the Kindle edition of Freedom for the Thought That We Hate. I didn't get a chance to read it on the flight (work, work, work), but it's now in the queue. Tgeairn (talk) 21:08, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
