Hi, I saw that you added a photo of 17 Barton Street, Macclesfield, and referred to it as the house where Ian Curtis lived and died. I was wondering if you had a source for this particular address? I ask because most available sources (for example http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/lifelong-fan-behind-joy-division-9342791) give the address of his house as 77 Barton Street - which is on a different street corner, and looks noticeably different. --] (]) 21:24, 23 September 2015 (UTC) Hi, I saw that you added a photo of 17 Barton Street, Macclesfield, and referred to it as the house where Ian Curtis lived and died. Updated DYK queryOn 3 June 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article July 2013 Spuyten Duyvil derailment, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the National Transportation Safety Board found that a track gauge 5⁄16 of an inch (7.9 mm) too wide caused a garbage train to derail in the Bronx? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/July 2013 Spuyten Duyvil derailment. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Orphaned non-free image File:Google lawn.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Google lawn.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:19, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

Daisy (advertisement)‎

Can you take a look at Daisy (advertisement)‎? An IP edited the article and has messed things up - i tried to fix it but i could use help - especially because the IP seemed to think the Daisy girl messing up her numbers was scripted - it wasn't, it was just the child actress being a three year toddler and toddlers don't know their numbers that well and do not have the ability to truly act or follow a script. Proposed deletion of Skintern

The article Skintern has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non notable neologism

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 19:36, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

I have added two sources that go beyond mere use of the term and actually discuss the definition of the term. I believe this alleviates the WP:SYNTH concerns of WP:NEO and establishes notability; I have removed the PROD tag. Inks.LWC (talk) 20:33, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi! I see from above that you have received a similar message to me. I've added a template (correctly?) to Talk:St John the Evangelist's Church, Yealand Conyers. Is that correct? Is this a (another) new requirement? But it only says "consider". WP gets more and more (too) complicated for simple folk like me. --Peter I. Vardy (talk) 09:03, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

DYK

I notice you're a helper of DYK noms and was hoping you'd help me with a few (I find the process a little too perplexing). Lester Dragstedt ("that Lester Dragstedt was the first surgeon to successfully separate siamese twins"), Woolrich ("that Woolrich, a clothing company founded in 1830, provided supplies for the American Civil War and Richard E. Byrd's 1939-1940 Antarctic expedition") and finally broadnose sevengill shark ("that both the broadnose sevengill shark and sharpnose sevengill shark are the only two sharks with the most gills slits and have been listed by Guinness World Records"). Maybe the first paragraph of Francis Palms could also be a DYK? I've considerably improved all these articles and feel they are DYK worthy. Thanks! SwisterTwister talk 18:46, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

refimprove tag

You got it all wrong - I think we need to bolster that article against accusations of POV pushing by trying to find more mainstream references for assertions of facts. Some of the facts asserted ARE supported ONLY by "fringey" sopurces. Let's both work on that and see if we can improve the list of references. Don't assume that just because another editor states that the reference list is kinda one-sided that they hate the idea of improving the article. I've already put on hold two of the books you cited, so I can read them in full and see what they have to say in totality and if they shake out any other notations. Putting a references needed tag often brings HELPFUL editors and .. it can stave off editors with agendas since it challenges them to BE BOLD and go and find some new reliable sources if they don't like the ones that are there. We can do this! We have the technology! Best wishesLiPollis (talk) 22:44, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

Got your message on my Talk Page. Impressive feat. I believe that having that article listed on the DYK section of the front page is partially responsible for its massive hits and that's good. Taht should bring other editors, hopefully skilled ones, to the article. If you see my User Page, as opposed to just my Talk Page, I am an Inclusionist. I don't like people to delete articles for lack of sources or because they think the subject is too "fringey" or "Conspiracy-oriented" until they make a good-faith effort to improve the article and bring it up to standard. If Good-faith editors cannot improve a topic, then that might signal a problem with the topic ; not the mere lack of reliable sources. I'm going to Watch the article too and do some reading. I live in LA and my husband and I were on our first date the night Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were murdered, so the topic caught my eye. On our 2nd date, we took off work early to drive out to a chinese laser disc store and got stuck on the freeways during the infamous Slow-Speed Chase. In an odd way, The Simpson case is part of our back-story as a couple. Weird, eh? Best wishes and happy editing. Sincerely, Lisa. LiPollis (talk) 18:14, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Please sign new Wikimedia confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information by 15 December

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have access to nonpublic information and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. The general confidentiality agreement is now ready, and the OTRS agreement will be ready after 22 September 2015. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum@wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain your access to nonpublic information. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

African-American Cemetery Category

I was going to post this on Category:African-American_cemeteries talk page but it suggested there were few watchers. And I believe you created or substantially contributed to African-American_Cemetery_(Montgomery,_New_York) so I am posting here. I am interested in documenting the growing number of rural African-American cemeteries, personally my focus would be Hudson Valley or NY State. Of course many old African-American cemeteries were not marked or not marked well and have been left "undiscovered" for a century. There has been more attention to these (Mt Zion in Kingston recently rededicated, "Section E" in Rhinebeck, Kinderhook and I see others coming into view). Two questions. 1) Notability. These would not be Nationally Registered historic places, but collectively they add up an often unarticulated history of African Americans in rural NYS in the 18th and 19th centuries that was historically not been documented. 2) If qualifying as notable, should there be a new category that would recognize this distinction, such as "African-American rural cemeteries" or "African-American rural cemeteries in NY State." Thank you. WindingRoad (talk) 17:33, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Murder of Bella Bond

Should it be pointed in the article that once again, forensic facial artists made the recon of a female victim a lot more idealised/prettier/cuter than the human reality? see also Delta Dawn where the latest facial recon has turned her into a contestant in the America's Most Beautiful Baby pageant. Disambiguation link notification for September 20

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ragged Ass Road (street), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Title track (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Image of 17 Barton Street

Hi, I saw that you added a photo of 17 Barton Street, Macclesfield, and referred to it as the house where Ian Curtis lived and died. I was wondering if you had a source for this particular address? I ask because most available sources (for example http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/lifelong-fan-behind-joy-division-9342791) give the address of his house as 77 Barton Street - which is on a different street corner, and looks noticeably different. --David Edgar (talk) 21:24, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
