The real problem with editing anonymously (here or anywhere else) is that you often don't have any continuity, how do you know the person you are talking to is the same as the person you were talking to yesterday, or indeed how can you tell they are different people. A bunch of new accounts or ips turning up in a discussion can easily be achieved by one person or a small group of people, how can you tell. There are some such as me, who tend to have the same ip for long periods of time, and people tend to know our style etc. so we get a degree of continuity, but i understand that some will give less weight in an overall discussion and it's a choice i make to not register. Looking around to see what has prompted the question, I would say it's quite normal in the circumstance, new editor(s) turn up for a very narrow topic, say very similar things, and those things are more opinion than based on policy, that's not going to be given too much weight in forming a consensus. --] (]) 23:00, 12 October 2015 (UTC) Looking around to see what has prompted the question, I would say it's quite normal in the circumstance, new editor(s) turn up for a very narrow topic, say very similar things, and those things are more opinion than based on policy, that's not going to be given too much weight in forming a consensus. --] (]) 23:00, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bob Morales (biker)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bob Morales (biker) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Liz 10:26, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Misplaced Pages:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. Thank you! --SubSeven (talk) 01:57, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

DRN case closed

Hello, I am MrScorch6200, a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. You recently filed a request or were a major party in the DRN case titled "Talk:Royce Gracie#Royce Gracie_BJJ_matches". Unfortunately, the case was closed regardless because there was not any participation in the case, nor was there likely to be. When these issues have been addressed, you may refile the DRN request or open a thread on another noticeboard as appropriate. If you have any questions please contact me on my talk page or at the DRN talk page. Thank you! --Scorch (talk | ctrb) 11:24, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 1

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dwight Frazier, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Joe Hayes (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Val James

Hi, CrazyAces. I was a little concerned to see this revert of yours at Val James. You had added a sentence about James being the victim of racist attacks by NHL fans, TheGracefulSlick had removed it with an explanatory edit summary (= the material was already in the article, rather more fully and specifically, four lines higher up), and then you re-added it without even an explanation — just the automatic edit summary. What happened — didn't you see TGS's edit summary? Don't re-add the sentence again, please, as it really doesn't make sense to have it twice. (And please provide explanatory edit summaries yourself. They seem rather rare in your contributions list.) Happy editing. I'm glad to see you back after the earlier problems! Bishonen | talk 19:05, 11 October 2015 (UTC).

IP Comments

Hello. The question is not a simple one to answer and the situation can be different depending on context. Firstly it's normally about strength of argument/sense - it'd be foolish to ignore a sensible well made point just because someone is editing as an ip (or indeed any other discriminatory factor). On the other hand in a consensus building exercise new editors are often given less weight than established editors - this applies to both ip and new named accounts. Really a well made point will be in line and gather support from established editors, so it shouldn't make much difference to the outcome.
