Jharkhand's government website has it spelled as झारखकण्ड in their logo instead of झारखंड that we have in the article here. :Hi Taxman. The state government website spells it not as झारखकण्ड (such a spelling shall arise only if you are pronouncing the name taking into account the English spelling for a Hindi speaking state). In fact, the government website spells it as झारखण्ड, and the spelling as given in the article (झारखंड) is also a correct spelling as ] script supports both. However, झारखण्ड is better one. I am talking of my own state and of my own mother toungue. Several documents of the Government of Jharkhand carry both the spellings, and many other incorrect versions too! We may accept the spelling as indicated in the state governemnt website. I did not tax you, I presume!

Questions

"Some students choose to join 3 years diploma courses offered by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)" -- This is an opinion, not a fact. Choices for students aren't part of an encyclopedia article. Please make sure you change this.

For XLRI-J - 'It's PMIR programme is regarded best in the entire Asia-Pacific region' -- There are no cited references to this statement.

] -- This is again, an opinion. Removed. If there are statistics which offer concrete examples of population migration, feel free to put them in.

As the institutions of higher studies fall short of state's requirement , many students, after completing schooling in the state, move away to places like New Delhi, Karnataka and several other locations for higher technical and non-technical studies. -- Citations? NPOV? Moved to talk page.

Note to Author : Please remove the NPOV statements and clean up. --vIkSiT 17:41, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

  • hello everyone ... I am trying to expand Jharkhand. I solocit suggestions. I request all persons interested in this project to contribute. I also thanks all for suggestions already received (in this connection / in connection with my work on wikipedia) on my user page.

  • Recently an editor has added some external links. I would request him/her and other editors to please comment on the validity of these links in the article. In case, appropriate comments do not come, I think removing these links to talk page would be ok? correct? Thanks. --Bhadani 14:58, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
I agree that there is not much to recommend many of the links at the External Links section. I removed one today. Perhaps more may be removed. Priyatu 13:21, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Wikified

There was a wikify template for the Jharkhand article. I have made some formatting changes. Perhaps the wikify template may be removed now. Please comment if the template may be removed. Priyatu 13:22, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Uselss info

Severtal useless info like names of schools have been added. Please understand what type of work we have to do here. Thanks. --Bhadani 13:31, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Schools in Jharkhand

I feel the names of schools in this article are not necessary. They may be best included in their respective city pages. As this article pertains to the entire state of Jharkhand, those info relevant to the State in toto would be fine. Any comment? --VMO 14:50, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes I do agree with Swamijee. I have raised similar issue several times relating to Ranchi and some other pages. --Bhadani 15:01, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
I shall await some more comments. If nothing comes forward, I plan to delete the Schools List. VMO 17:27, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
I have waited for 11 days. No comments received in the meantime. Hence, I have deleted the List of Schools. Any school name should obviously find place in the respective city or town page. I request the editors not to merely insert the name of the school; instead they may provide a brief write-up about the school so that the school name could properly be wikified also. Developing the school page can be done later, VMO 12:46, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes, you are right. Perhaps many editors forget the real purpose of the page and they do not care to see the tags at the top, and other pages like Goa to learn about adding contents here. --Bhadani 16:30, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Spelling

I reallize it's almost 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, but it's still better to go with how the state itself spells it unless there is good reason not to. Any objections to changing it? - Taxman 19:02, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Taxman. The state government website spells it not as झारखकण्ड (such a spelling shall arise only if you are pronouncing the name taking into account the English spelling for a Hindi speaking state). In fact, the government website spells it as झारखण्ड, and the spelling as given in the article (झारखंड) is also a correct spelling as Devnagri script supports both. However, झारखण्ड is better one. I am talking of my own state and of my own mother toungue. Several documents of the Government of Jharkhand carry both the spellings, and many other incorrect versions too! We may accept the spelling as indicated in the state governemnt website. I did not tax you, I presume!
