Greetings, BMK! Sorry to read above that your Christmas didn't go so well. Considering that, this might be an annoying question... but can you help guide the Jingle Bells article towards GA status? If that is not possible, I will have to just go ahead with the nomination and rely fully on the reviewer's help, which might be an inconvenience given our mutual unfamiliarity with the topic. You have 242 edits to the page, making any participation from you highly valuable.-- '']]'' 20:51, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

:{{ping|MaranoFan}} Thanks for contacting me. Yes, I've contributed a fair amount to that article over the years, but I cannot hold myself out as any kind of expert on the subject. Considering that, and the fact that my level of participation on Misplaced Pages is very low right now -- almost random, in fact -- due to a variety of family crises, means that I'm going to have to turn down your invitation to participate in bringing the article to GA status. I do, however, wish you the best of luck with it, and I look forward to seeing the result of your efforts. Best, ] (]) 05:28, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

== Horseshoe Theory ==
Hello Beyond My Ken, thanks for updating the licensing information for the photograph ]. You added as the source http://foter.com/photo/pierre-jules-boulanger/. I have a concern with this source. Note the similarity between the current version of the file, uploaded by you on 28 February 2012, and the photograph at Foter. They are visually the same, with exactly the same dimensions. Because of this, I am convinced that they got the photograph from Misplaced Pages and assumed that the licensing information was correct.

Hi, I edited "Horseshoe theory" just before you. The odd spacing in ''" Voilà, comme les extrêmes se rencontrent ! "'' is actually the original 19th-century typesetting, which I imitated. Is there a Misplaced Pages rule that typesetting has to be normalized to 21st-century standards?
I got the original image from http://www.designmuseum.org/design/flaminio-bertoni and my claim that it is in the public domain was based on assumptions about its publication that I now feel are not justified. The photograph may well be in the public domain, but nothing I have seen so far proves this claim.

:Actually, I didn't upload a new version, I just cropped and cleaned up the version that you uploaded. I got the address I added from , since it indicated the image was PD. You may well be right that they got it from us, that actually makes a great deal of sense.<p>So, what I've done is to revert my changes to the file's information (except I left off "db-author" since it's not applicable once someone else has uploaded a new version). This is a completely polite message and merely meant as a courtesy. How I am writing my contributions is so far organized as follows:
Plot, Cast, Production (Subsections: Background and pre-production, casting, filming), Initial editing and previews, Release and reception, Re-discovery, Themes, Style, Legacy.

Hi BMK, long time. I see you commenting at various pages on my way-too-long watchlist, but one way or another, we haven't interacted for a while; I hope all is well with you. I remember something many moons ago where I came around to your way of seeing things regarding placement of maintenance templates, after starting out in opposition. I don't have much recollection anymore about the details, but the bottom line was that either I placed a maint. template on a page or someone else did, and then you removed it, saying (I think) that it didn't have consensus, or something similar. At first, I was bent out of shape, thinking anybody could place a template on their own say so, and someone else shouldn't remove it based on ]. Eventually, your reasoning won me over, and I've changed my view on this to more aligned with yours. Can you fill me in (again?) on your reasoning, and ideally, link me to some guidance? I find myself on the other side of the fence now, removing a MT placed by someone else, and it would be nice to recall what it is you said that persuaded me. Does this ring a bell at all? Thanks, and hope you are well. ] (]) 07:55, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Hello, you are talking about a very subjective thing here. An architectural detail of a building of the upper west side or upper east side is showing the history of that area. :No, there are aspects of this which are not at all subjective, as I've outlined on your talk page. Images on Misplaced Pages need to be informative and an aid to indentification. An image which is "artistic" '''''can''''' fulfill those requirements, but it is much less likely to than a straight-forward image. Certainly a close up of a building's detail, without identifying the building, or the architect, or the date, or the style, which is just thrown into the ] and ] article is not "showing the history" of anything. Removing the separate section header and subheaders for the Bibliography was completely useless. The citations and the bibliography are two separate sections and should be presented as such. The article originally said that the election of Grover Cleveland to the presidency in 1884 “ended” Longstreet’s political career. You changed “ended” to “interrupted,” implying that Longstreet would someday resume involvement in politics. This is false. Longstreet never held public office again. I also found the language “return of a Democratic administration” to be confusing, as Cleveland had never been president before.

Your version of the "Later life" section contains numerous excessively short one-sentence “paragraphs.”
:] (]&nbsp;|&nbsp;])
::added a link pointing to ]

You made numerous edits which interrupted source to text integrity. Basically, you broke up paragraphs and added citations to new sources (mainly the Varon book) but did not adjust the page numbers in the original citations. As a general rule, it is usually not necessary to add sources if a sentence is already reliably sourced. But if you are going to do so, and you make edits in a way that moves the original citations elsewhere, then you need to make sure that those citations stay attached to the information that they are supposed to verify.
:] (]&nbsp;|&nbsp;])
::added a link pointing to ]

I will restore some copyedits that I made, and I welcome you to re-add citations to the Varon book. == New pages patrol September 2024 Backlog drive ==
Citation is from pp 337 to 340 (8th Ave sect) & criticism refers to literally and I am quoting "east side of Ave" which includes 14 Horatio. Not 2. So it is extreme at best to say the criticism is about the "two buildings" (2+14 Horatio). When you look at individual descriptors of any of the five Bing & Bing buildings it does not criticize in this way. Given criticism is in 8th Ave section and literally refers to "east side of the Avenue," I believe that criticism should be removed from article.

Hi. Regarding , is your practice to include that "Notes" subheading in ''all'' articles you edit, even when there isn't a separate Notes subsection for inline cites and General References for non-inline cites? It has been my observation that those subheadings are only included when you have that separation. :Yes, that is my general practice. "References" is a not a thing in itself, but a '''''category of things''''', which can include bibliographies, lists of interviews, sources, citations, explanatory notes, further reading lists, list of primary sources etc. To have a references section does not tell the reader what '''''kind''''' of reference is being referred to - which is the purpose of "Notes". Looking at the Koavf debacle, I wouldn't want a repeat, but there are some differences - for a start, I've never been blocked. So, what to do? The more I see of HAD's intemperate and petty comments the less keen I get. As I've said before I'm not in any hurry for the bit. If the RfA went ahead and was declined then I'd just carry on doing what I've always felt most comfortable doing, which is WikiGnoming - recent changes patrol, vandalism/advertising/blatant puffery reversion, typo/spelling fixes and the like. My view is that Misplaced Pages could do with more active admins - the time it takes to get action at RFPP has always irritated me, when frequently what's needed is for a page to be semi-protected for a few days rather than for IPs to be blocked - but if there's no realistic chance of success then I won't bother. I'm leaning towards declining the nomination after consideration, but saying that I'll be open to future nomination and encouragement by more experienced editors than HAD. ] (]) 13:23, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
:I can't speak for other editors who commented on the Koavf RfA, but my primary objection was Koavf's edit history itself, not the nominator, although that did add to it. I'm not really familiar with your history, but I'm assuming that there wouldn't be the same reaction, even given the quality of your nominator. Still, if you're asking my advice, I'd pass this one up and wait for another opportunity, either as a self-nomineee (although I will admit to being prejudiced against them), or with another, more seasoned editor as nominator. Best, ] (]) 20:31, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi BMK. Sorry to template you, but I thought it the most convenient way to give you a head-up. I notice you've been a quite prolific recent contributor here and wondered if you had seen this. The start editor was notified, but he (she) would seem to be presently inactive.

I think it's problematic that this AfD was introduced on ]. That smacks of an elitist agenda to me and I've made my own view of that very clear (inviting personal attack and even admin oversight of my account). I'm actually off on my hols just now and won't be returning until the end of June. I doubt I'll be editing in the meantime. But when I return I'll look out the progress of the AfD, and I shall raise the issues I outline above in the relevant forums. ] (]) 10:20, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

==Would you mind checking==
Hello BMK. You might remember that several months ago I got caught up in a good hand/bad hand situation where I was reverting articles to a version that had already been vandalized. As I look at of the Kumioko sock {{user|Cheaptrick99}} it is reverting items added by new editor (the rest of the edits by this newb have been reverted.) Also a check of the cast list for the film does not jibe with the additions by PDC. Since it is only one edit I don't know if C99 and PDC are the same person but it is possible that the film article should be reverted back to version (with a capital "A" added to Andrea's name.) I wanted to get your assessment of the situation before proceeding. Apologies for being so long winded about this and thanks for your time. ] | ] 18:59, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

== Identified unknown actor in Princess Tam-Tam and am asking your assistance to properly document. ==

For some time I have been studying Maurice Tillet, who was an bit actor in the 1930's, later going into professional wrestling, then moving to the United States and becoming a household name. Incredibly famous, but almost lost to this time, if it wasn't for an almost certainty that he inspired the Shrek character. I have been looking for him in French Cinema as he reported acting in this time-frame. Today a historian friend of mine spotted him in Pricess Tam Tam. All I have for proof would be in in-depth photo comparison I can provide. Maurice's head is what made him so different as it was 2 times the size of a man his size. He had acromegaly, and stated he went into film thinking his head would help in getting parts. He shows up VERY briefly in the bar scene. I really want to put Maurice back into French Cinema history properly. Can I ask your help in accomplishing this? I can provide you all the needed pictures and details if you would be willing to contact me at thefrenchangeldeathmask@gmail.com. Why have you treated me as if I were a common vandal by reverting my edit and not changing the default edit summary? You may note that Mr. Bloomberg's complete address is again visible in the citation. My rationale on BLP/N for removing cross avenues is twofold. First, they're not relevant -- we only need citation that the persons live on 79th street, not where. Second, giving the block/intersection is nearly as good as giving the address -- especially on the UES west of 3rd Ave because the avenue blocks are half the size. Behavior such as this has been the cause of editors such as ] being indef blocked or banned, so I suggest you take it slow and easy, don't remove sections ''en masse'', and be absolutely certain that every item you remove contains opinion, analysis or interpretation - unless you would like this brought to the attention of admins for investigation. ] (]) 22:19, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi,

With regard to edit, please comment on the talk page discussion, where I asked for input before removing the image (again). The image has been removed before, either with no summary (as in your case) or with unhelpful comments - "crap image". I believe that as it is the only image of a man in modern day leggings - which is commented in the article, it adds value alongside the multiple images of women in leggings. Your comment of "getting jollies" is inappropriate, as unless you are accusing RSMDist of socking, it's quite obvious that the IP did not upload the image in the first place. Ironically, you should know this, because you cropped the image yourself Thanks. ] (]) 09:59, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

My argument is that the fact is obvious on its face, and that the cn tage results not from the inobviousness of the fact, but from a deficit on the part of the tagging editor. ::Thanks for your reply. I didn't know whether you would add it, since you argued that it is unnecessary. My argument was that it doesn't matter if it's obvious on its face, since the policy requires that it be published previously. IMHO the best option in this case is to just remove the sentence, but a cn tag is certainly acceptable in the meantime. I don't see why it would be at all objectionable. ] (]) 04:03, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
:::I found it objectionable '''''because''''' it was so obviously true, because there are some editors who seem to believe that tagging and deleting things which are '''''factually true''''' simply because not every "t" is crossed and every "i" is dotted is in some perverse way actually '''''beneficial''''' to the encyclopedia, who put '''''no time or effort''''' into '''''improving''''' articles but relish '''''tearing them down''''', and because, as I stated before, many times a "fact" tag doesn't indicate that a fact is really in doubt, it indicates a '''''lack of knowledge''''' or insight by the tagger. I object to those things -- to '''''all''''' of those things -- because they do not help the project, they actively '''''hurt''''' it, and it makes me sick that we accept them, that we allow protocol and process to be raised above our mission to serve our readers.<p>As I said, I'm not going to contest the tag, I've got better ways to spend my time, and I'm hoping that someone - you or MarnetteD or somebody else - can run down a ref in the Blu-Ray docs, but as far as I'm concerned, that Mel Brooks did those voices is just about as obvious as the sky being blue. ] (]) 05:09, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
::::I get where you're coming from. I miss the days from 10 years ago where most of the focus here was on writing the articles rather than tracking down minutae. However, I don't think adding a citation request is in any way detrimental to the article. A citation doesn't necessarily imply that the fact is in question; it allows the reader to check out the information in the original source, which I think is helpful and an improvement. And as I pointed out, it doesn't ''matter'' whether a given statement is true - Misplaced Pages isn't a source of truth, it's a distillation of previously published material. ] (]) 17:04, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

::OK BMK, thanks for the link. ("Little Syria" isn't a section heading that would've caught my eye for this question!) You make a good case that Notes is a more-appropriate heading than References. It's still unclear why it's better to use both headings for a single list, but I can respect it as a minor "first-come, first-served" preference for WP articles (like the date format). Dear Beyond My Ken,

(It doesn't seem like too much ''is'', in fact, ''‘beyond your ken’'' ] ).

Thank you kindly for taking the time to write, advising me on how I might go about using an image of this nature.

I'll resize it ''properly'' to about 200 pixels, and for this article regarding ] ''use a single image only'', but with a link to the slightly larger 500 pixel original should anyone be interested. And I'll try my best to upload them both, but to English Wiki ''alone''.

Once again, I thank you for your valuable advice, and experience in the matter.

Sincerely,

Chris

:::As the person to whom that reply was made, I saw nothing particularly wrong with it. Yeah, I wouldn't have said it, but I don't see anything wrong with it. Solarra, this thread would have been a good thing to ask BMK ''before'' removing the post. Just because the word "swine" is something we can use negatively doesn't make it a personal attack—and I'm of the opinion that BMK's intent was to be a bit edgy, but there's nothing wrong with that. You might as well have removed my comment as a threat of violence because I talked about shooting ducks with birdshot, and we commonly use ] to refer to obvious sockpuppets. Anyway, to Ken, while it is irrelevant if you call a ban something else, or a pig something else... I would remind you that sometimes a pig is not a pig, especially if it ]. ::::::{{yo|Mendaliv}} I've been contributing with BMK for awhile, it is quite obvious that he's a genius editor and his contributions off en.wiki(like commons) are simply amazing. {{od}} Also quite a good point. My own approach to behavioral disputes tends to be very close to an approach for content disputes, that is, to try and find the simplest way forward for all parties starting from a presumption that no past patterns of behavior matter. Obviously, it's a simplistic approach, but in all but the most complex cases, simple issues of right or wrong (e.g., whether a particular user violated a policy, such as made a personal attack) don't require examination of the past. Decisions as to sanction, on the other hand, are intensely dependent on past behavior, however.

If I understand your comment correctly, OccultZone, you mean that my analysis should have also taken account of Solarra's past, and motivations in reacting the way she did. I'm of the opinion that it's a relevant factor, though I don't see it as necessary to form a correct opinion on this situation. It might be more relevant if a claim were made that the person complaining had done so wrongfully, and sanctions were wanted against the person making the complaint... but in just evaluating the behavior of the target of the complaint, particularly where the complaining party was not involved in the behavior complained of, it's most often going to be window dressing at best.

At any rate, I do concur with you, that Solarra's response objecting to Ken's comment should have been made at ANI, rather than here. I also concur with your observation on Ken's editing history: I've seen much of the same and as such hold his opinion in high regard (which is why, in part, I took the time to come here and continue the discussion of whether sanctions against Russavia should take the form of a formal ban or something else). Anyway, that turned out to be a much longer response than I intended. :Apologies for taking a bit to respond here.
:{{reply|Beyond_My_Ken}} When I read the comment, I read it as calling Russavia a pig/swine/etc, and so I removed it believing it to be a personal attack per what I understand as policy. That being said, reading what is here I see that the comment was in line with your personality and editing style, but I still feel it was a bit close to inappropriate. I wasn't looking to act as an administrator, a power monger, or anything else of that sort, just merely trying to keep the peace, if I offended or upset you in any way I apologize :-).
:{{reply|OccultZone}} I brought the comment up here because from what I understand, a user's talk page is the appropriate place to discuss issues with other editors that involve only that editor. I did not wish the discussion of Russavia's unblock request to get sidetracked into a lengthy and off-topic discussion about Ken's comments. My intention was to discuss the comment with Ken and express why I felt that the comment was inappropriate, and I felt that discussion was best served here. When it comes to potentially inflammatory content, I try to take into account context, personality, and other factors, but I ask myself, how would the average layman read this sentence. This group may find no problem with the reference, but others may, and in this case did.
:{{reply|Mendaliv}} As I touched on above, I try to take a whole picture into account in cases such as this but analyze it from a third party perspective. I disagree that this discussion should have occurred from ANI as I believe in dispute resolution at the lowest possible level and me raising my concerns here enables me to discuss with Ken on an individual and relatively informal level that concerns I have, not to mention that it would sidetrack the topic of that discussion.
:I work very diligently to be as amiable as possible to everyone, like I mentioned above, if I in any way offended, upset, or otherwise hindered anyone in any way in my attempts to keep things civil, I apologize. ::Well, Solarra, I would posit that your removal was erroneous and based on a misreading of the comment. This is why great care needs to be taken in redacting people's comments without prior consultation. The conversation has moved on, and merely restoring it isn't going to make things as they were before. {{tlx|rpa}} might have been a better option, insofar as making it appear the comment never happened dramatically reduces the chances of a relatively uninvolved passerby like myself or OccultZone noticing the redaction and reversing it before too much time has passed. Of course, in this case, I think even that sort of redaction would have been inappropriate; as I say above, my comment to which Ken had replied, where I speak of ducks and birdshot, was no more a threat of violence against Russavia than Ken's comment served to compare Russavia to swine. —/]/<small>]</small>/<small>]</small>/ 17:13, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
:::Just to note: I would prefer at this time that the comment not be restored (I don't believe it has been already). I was intrigued by your comment in AN/I. I think you could definitely argue that a content dispute becomes a behavior issue when the editor stops arguing on substance and begins playing evasive circular word games. Jingle Bells

You have 242 edits to the page, making any participation from you highly valuable.-- NØ 20:51, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

@MaranoFan: Thanks for contacting me. Best, Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:28, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

Horseshoe Theory

Hi, I edited "Horseshoe theory" just before you. The odd spacing in " Voilà, comme les extrêmes se rencontrent ! " is actually the original 19th-century typesetting, which I imitated. Is there a Misplaced Pages rule that typesetting has to be normalized to 21st-century standards?

I'm not intending to revert it or anything, just curious. ScarletPlanet (talk) 20:47, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

I wouldn't say that there is a rule, per se, but our primary concern should be communicating with our readers, and using contemporary formatting makes things easier for them. Beyond My Ken (talk) 17:25, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Beyond My Ken,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

A childhood friend from the 80s died today, rather than sleeping I've distracted myself via wikipedia. While initialling perusing https://en.wikipedia.org/Molecular_recognition I somehow ended up down the rabbit hole of James Watson's scientific racism, where a few editors have a habit of removing any criticism even when well sourced, doing the same for other like minded bigots. Remind me about this?

Hi BMK, long time. I see you commenting at various pages on my way-too-long watchlist, but one way or another, we haven't interacted for a while; I hope all is well with you. I remember something many moons ago where I came around to your way of seeing things regarding placement of maintenance templates, after starting out in opposition. I don't have much recollection anymore about the details, but the bottom line was that either I placed a maint. template on a page or someone else did, and then you removed it, saying (I think) that it didn't have consensus, or something similar. At first, I was bent out of shape, thinking anybody could place a template on their own say so, and someone else shouldn't remove it based on WP:WTRMT. Mathglot (talk) 07:55, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

@Mathglot: Sorry to take so long to respond to this. I vaguely recall the discussion you're referring to, but not enough to recall where and when it took place. There are a few older comments on my "Thoughts" page which may trigger your memory. In particular, this discussion from 2008 may be useful.Incidentally, I haven't changed my views in the 16 years since then, although I'm less inclined to make an issue out of it, unfortunately because the Misplaced Pages community's inherent intransigence and lack of interest in change often doesn't lend itself to consideration of how the project would benefit from small evolutionary adjustments; it seems that people would rather stick to communal authoritarianism instead. File:300 & 302 Canal Street.jpg

Many, many years ago you uploaded an image of some loft buildings on Canal Street, with some notes about their history and architecture. It came in handy for an article I was working on, so I thought I might return the favor with a fun fact about its later history. The building on the left was the subject of a very famous experimental film called Wavelength, which uses as one of its main visual elements the building's tall, mullioned windows. hinnk (talk) 22:04, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

  • That's very interesting - I have an LP by Michael Snow in my collection, Music for Piano, Whistling, Mic & Tape Recorder, which I haven't listened to in years.Do you have a source that verifies that 300 Canal is the building used for the film? I'd like to add that information to the photo's file, but I generally like to have a source to cite. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:03, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

James Longstreet

I have reverted your recent changes to the James Longstreet article. I have identified the following problems:

Your addition that Helen Dortch Longstreet was a journalist appears to be unsupported by either of the sources attached to that sentence.

Removing the separate section header and subheaders for the Bibliography was completely useless. The citations and the bibliography are two separate sections and should be presented as such. Your change makes it more difficult to edit the Bibliography, is in my view also less pleasant to read, and accomplishes nothing. 3 The article originally said that the election of Grover Cleveland to the presidency in 1884 “ended” Longstreet’s political career.

I will restore some copyedits that I made, and I welcome you to re-add citations to the Varon book. But do not break up paragraphs in ways that are unnecessary, especially when that disrupts the citations. I would appreciate if you would also take note of the other statements that I made. Display name 99 (talk) 20:19, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

I will be restoring my edits, as the information is sourced to the Varon book, which you should read before making any additional reversions. Beyond My Ken (talk) 21:51, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
The Bibliography is still totally editable in the "References: section. This style is frequently used on Misplaced Pages, and is not forbidden by the MOS. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:01, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Please do presume to lecture me on how to edit Misplaced Pages. I've been editing for 19 years and over 60,000 edits and am well aware of how to edit. Your objections to format and style are noted and rejected as irrelevant. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:01, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
One can be a public figure without holding public office. Longstreet continued to try to achieve office almost continually after he stepped down as Marshall, so his political cafreer was not "ended". That is why the article already said that he went into "semi-retirement", not "retirement". Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:01, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Please be cognizant of the dangers of WP:OWNERSHIP of articles. I mention this because I see indications of ownership-type behavior in your message above. You also do not want to risk being partially blocked from another page as you are from Andrew Jackson. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:06, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Any further discussions should take place on the article's talk page and not here and should focus entirely on the subject at hand and not on your attempt to school me on how to edit Misplaced Pages. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:08, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

“National Socialist Program”

Hi, BMK. While I was browsing Nazism/Archive_29, you came to my attention as a transparent editor who has engaged on this topic over an extended period of time. As the subject is contentious (maybe needlessly so), I'm wary of even proposing anything on the talk page.

Nonetheless: I noticed (thanks to this particular discussion) that the title of the article National Socialist Program essentially violates NPOV (or VOICE etc.) in the same way as outlined in Talk:Nazism/FAQ. AFAIK, none of the citations (which are already questionable—e.g., Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn) even support the use of this title. If there is any evidence that the Nazis themselves called their 25-point plan "the National Socialist Program", I am unaware of it. (Do you know of any?)

I was surprised not to see any discussion of this on the talk page, especially after I saw you'd been to that same page, yourself.

What do you think?
