Huxley College of the Environment at Western Washington University is one of the oldest environmental colleges in the nation and a recognized leader in producing the next generation of environmental professionals and stewards. Huxley’s distinctive, interdisciplinary curriculum reflects a broad view of the physical, biological, social, and cultural world, and has earned international recognition for quality. The college is named after Thomas Henry Huxley, an English biologist who worked tirelessly to advance the place of science in British life.

The college has two departments, Environmental Science and Environmental Studies, and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Huxley College Alumni
More than 5,000 students have graduated from Huxley College, many going on to work in various environmental-related industries including: habitat biology, renewable energy, environmental education, and many more. Many alumni are represented in the senior level's of various local, state, and federal institutions.
