The Christian Martella affair is a French criminal case in which Christian Marletta was accused of having strangled, raped and killed Christelle Bancourt, a twelve years old girl, in Marseille. He also dismembered her corpse. Christian Marletta was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1985 and narrowly escaped the capital punishment. He was released from jail in 2006.
