In Greek mythology and religion, Lips (Ancient Greek: Λίψ) is the god of the southwest wind and one of the Anemoi (wind-gods), sons of the dawn goddess Eos and the star-god Astraeus. On the Tower of the Winds he is depicted as a winged man holding the stern of a ship.

His Roman form is Africus due to the Roman province Africa being to the southwest of Italy.

7. According to Plato, Critias, 113d–114a, Atlas was the son of Poseidon and the mortal Cleito.
8. In Aeschylus, Prometheus Bound 18, 211, 873 (Sommerstein, pp. 444–445 n. 2, 446–447 n. 24, 538–539 n. 113) Prometheus is made to be the son of Themis.
