Swarna Kamalam is a 1988 Telugu film written and directed by K. Viswanath. It stars Venkatesh and Bhanupriya in the lead roles. Music was composed by Ilayaraja.

Plot

Meena (Bhanupriya), daughter of a famous dancer, is Chandram's (Venkatesh) neighbor. He requests her to take up dancing as a profession and organizes a performance by her. Reluctantly, she agrees to perform but makes a hash of it. Unable to bear the disappointment, her dejected father dies. Chandram advice to her falls on deaf ears and she decides to take up a job in a hotel. The management of the hotel coaxes her to give a dance performance which captivates a foreigner who is an ardent lover of Indian fine arts. In spite of repeated offers from abroad and having become a celebrity, she decides to stay in India with her mentor and guide.
